DJI And Hasselblad Introduce Expensive 100 Megapixel Camera Drone

DJI is one of the biggest names in the drone market. It has created some great products over the years and continues on its quest to shake up the drone market. It acquired a majority stake in iconic Swedish camera company Hasselblad back in January this year and their first proper collaboration on a product has resulted in an expensive 100 megapixel camera drone.

The companies are calling it “the first 100-megapixel integrated drone imaging platform,” it brings together an M600 Pro drone with a Ronin MX Gimbal and a H6D-100c camera. This product was announced at the NAB industry conference that’s taking place in Las Vegas these days.

The idea behind creating a product like this is to cater to the very high-end of the “landscape and fine-art photography.” It will also prove to be very effective in collecting data for surveying and mapmaking.

Its camera has a 53.4mm x 40.0mm sensor which allows it to capture images in exceptional detail even in low light conditions.

The M600/Ronin-MX/H6D-100c platform is currently being displayed at the NAB Show in Las Vegas through April 27. It’s going to be available for purchase in the third quarter of 2017. DJI has not confirmed pricing as yet but given that the M600 Pro drone costs $4,999 on its own, this product isn’t going to be cheap.

Little Boy Crashes Bike Because of Booty

We’ve all been there, guys. Sometimes we do stupid things because of booty. Take this little boy. He’s just riding his bike on the sidewalk in Stockholm, when a big bus with pictures of strippers in thongs on the sides catches the boy’s attention.

This is why you don’t drive distracted kid. Early life lesson, you pay a price for staring at the hotness of the caliber that makes it to the side of a van.

You pay in cash, and sometimes you pay by smashing your beloved bike (and face) into a glass wall only to have the video go viral.

Finding Your Uber Rating Just Got Easier

Ratings are essential to the Uber experience. Riders rate drivers on a scale of 1 to 5 stars to signal their satisfaction or lack thereof after a ride. This allows them to provide the company with feedback about the driver, the way they drove, the condition of the car, and many other factors. Uber also allows drivers to rate riders. Previously, it wasn’t that easy for you to find your Uber rating, but now the company has simplified that.

If you use Uber regularly, you might have been curious at one point in time about the rating that you’ve racked up after all of the rides that you’ve taken. You’d want to know how good or bad of a rider the drivers perceive you to be.

Finding your own rating used to require a bit of effort previously. You had to go deep within the app’s menus to dig out your rating. Before this was even possible, Uber only disclosed the rider’s rating on request but fortunately, it gave up on that a long time back.

To provide riders with more visibility into how drivers are rating them, all Uber users will now see their rider ratings displayed right under their name in the app’s menu.

“We hope this update will remind riders that mutual respect is an important part of our Community Guidelines,” writes Uber in a post on its official blog.

I wonder how many stars the driver that got an earful from Uber CEO Travis Kalanick gave him.

Instagram Reaches 700 Million Users

Facebook already has a couple of products in its portfolio that have already reached the billion user milestone. Instagram has been lagging behind but the photo-sharing network has been seeing monumental growth over the past few years. Instagram today announced that it’s one step closer to the big B as it now has more than 700 million users across the globe.

Instagram today confirmed through a post on its official blog that its community has now grown to more than 700 million users across the globe. Without going into the specifics, the company said that the last 100 million users joined the network “faster than ever.”

The Facebook-owned service has been adding new features at a rapid pace, even though some of them appears to have been taken straight from Snapchat’s playbook, they appear to be paying healthy dividends for Instagram.

The solid growth that Instagram has seen over the past few years goes to show that there’s a lot of scope for the photo-sharing network and that it hasn’t peaked yet.

It goes without saying that Instagram will continue to improve the service in order to keep existing users hooked to its app while also enticing new users across the globe to join and share their photos and videos with friends, family, and strangers on Instagram.

Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 Release Might Take Place In June

It has been a few weeks since Samsung confirmed that it would bring back the Galaxy Note 7 as a refurbished device in a handful of markets across the globe. Samsung is sitting on millions of recalled Galaxy Note 7 units that it retrieved from customers after it was decided to discontinue the ill-fated flagship late last year. A new report suggests that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 release is likely going to take place this June.

Launching a refurbished variant of the Galaxy Note 7 is part of Samsung’s three-step plan to deal with the environmental fallout of such a big product recall. The other steps involve working with specialists to retrieve heavy metals and properly recycle the device.

A new report claims that Samsung is going to release the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea by June this year. The company is apparently sitting on up to four million units of the Galaxy Note 7 and it plans to sell 10% of them as refurbished units in its home market.

All of the specifications are reportedly going to be the same as they were on the original Galaxy Note 7 save for the possibility that it might have a 3,000mAh battery instead. This particular model will reportedly be sold as the Galaxy Note 7R.

The report also mentions that Samsung is going to sell it for 700,000 won or $620 which is around $250 less compared to what the Galaxy Note 7 was originally sold for last year. Samsung has previously confirmed that the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 won’t be sold in the United States.

Twitter’s not doing so well with money

Twitter today released a letter to shareholders documenting the progress it made in Q1 2017.
