Verizon Introduces Unlimited Data Plans For Prepaid Customers

When it comes to prepaid, sometimes the rates and features you get aren’t quite as good as postpaid. However the upside is that you aren’t necessarily locked into a particular carrier and it is usually cheaper since you get to choose when you want to reload your credits. Now if you are a prepaid customer on Verizon, we’ve got some good news for you guys.

The carrier has recently announced that they will be bringing unlimited data plans to prepaid customers for $80. This plan will also include unlimited text messages to over 200 international destinations, and you guys will also be able to make unlimited international calls to countries such as Mexico and Canada.

According to Tami Erwin, executive vice president of operations for Verizon, “In just months, Verizon has transformed its prepaid offerings to make it easier and more affordable for customers to get access to the best network at a great value, no matter how much data they need. This plan is all about giving our prepaid customers more choice. With data plans from as little as 2 GB to unlimited data, we’ve got a plan that fits your needs.”

If this sounds too good to be true, there will be a couple of catches. For starters unlimited data will see users limited to video streaming resolutions capped at 480p, but if you’re not fussed then we guess that shouldn’t be an issue. There will also be no tethering so as not to invite abuse of the unlimited data, but that’s to be expected. If this sounds good, then head on over to Verizon to sign up.

Google Maps For iOS Gets Parking Reminders

Earlier this year Google Maps introduced a new feature to its app that allowed users to remember where they parked. This is versus more traditional methods where users would take photos to remember their parking spots. However the feature was only launched for Android at that time.

For iOS users who have been missing out, not to fear as Google has announced that the parking reminder feature is now available on the iOS version of the app. According to Google, the experience offered is pretty much the same as the version on Android. “Tap on the blue dot and then tap on “Set as parking location” to add your parking spot to the map itself. Tap on the parking label on the map to open up your parking card and do things like share it with friends and view pictures of your parking area.”

Google also reminds users that this is in addition to the automatic parking detection built into the app. There is also the added convenience if your phone were to be connected to your car via USB audio or Bluetooth. “If you connect to your car using USB audio or bluetooth, your parking spot will be automatically added to the map when you disconnect and exit the vehicle.”

The feature should already be live so you’ll want to update your app if you haven’t done so already. Note that Apple Maps already offers up a similar feature but if you’re more of a Google Maps kind of person then this update will be a much-welcome one.

Galaxy Note 8 Concept Renders Look Stunning

We have to admit that with the Samsung Galaxy S8, the company did a fantastic job of designing the phone. The curved display and the minimal bezels allowed the company to create a handset that truly felt like it was all display. So the question is, will Samsung be able to beat themselves and go further with the Galaxy Note 8?

We suppose that remains to be seen, but in the meantime designer Muhsin M. Belaal Auckburaully teamed up with YouTube channel DBS Designing to put together a stunning concept rendering of what they think (and hope) the Galaxy Note 8 will look like. As you can see in the images and video, this builds off the Galaxy S8’s design and takes it further, although interestingly enough the phone is imagined with a flatter screen as opposed to being more curved like in the Note 7, although it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

It also imagines that the phone will pack a dual camera setup in the back, versus the Galaxy S8 which was rumored to come with the feature but it did not. There also seems to be a little button/area below the camera that we’re not sure if it could be the fingerprint scanner, although we’re hoping that the Note 8 will see Samsung embed it under the display.

In any case this is merely just a concept rendering and not indicative of what the phone will look like, but we wouldn’t say no if it did, but what do you guys think? Would you buy this Galaxy Note 8 handset?

Galaxy Note 7 refurb will have a drastically reduced price

Although it’s off to a strong start, the hype around the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will most likely have died down after two or so months. Samsung, however, has a strategy that will keep its name in the news, though probably not all in a good way. According to Korean media, the OEM will be re-launching the Galaxy Note 7 … Continue reading

The Pink Pegasus Is Disneyland's Spin On The Unicorn Frappuccino

It’s only been a few days since Starbucks closed the curtain on its made-for-Instagram Unicorn Frappuccino, but the follow-up flavors are flowing. One Starbucks in California conjured up the Dragon Frappuccino, while another location is mixing up Unicorn Lemonades.

But perhaps the most magically inspired drink has come from Disneyland.

The Starbucks located at Downtown Disney, adjacent to the Disneyland theme park, in Anaheim, California, blended together the Pink Pegasus and served it as a store exclusive.

Named after the winged horse from Disney’s “Hercules,” this pink drink was created after the store ran out of ingredients for the Unicorn Frappuccino, according to E! News. Flavors in the Pink Pegasus included white mocha and raspberry.

It may have been missing the swirl of sour blue from the Unicorn Frapp, but it still looked just as pretty.

The Downtown Disney Starbucks doled out the Pink Pegasus over the weekend, but like all mythical creatures, it remains elusive as ever. An employee at the California coffee shop told HuffPost that the Pink Pegasus was no longer being served.

If you missed the window of opportunity to try the magical blended drink, indulge in the FOMO below.

Google Search update puts the heat on fake news

Facebook and social media may be largely blamed from the rampant rise of fake news over the Internet, but search engines, like Google Search, are just as culpable. After all, they are the vehicle on which these misleading content ride on to get to our web browsers. Google has definitely felt the pressure in these past months from fake news … Continue reading
