Vizio’s New Soundbar Comes With Google Assistant And Chromecast Support

Vizio was recently in the news after it was confirmed by LeEco that it had decided to give up on its planned $2 billion acquisition of the former. That obviously hasn’t stopped Vizio from forging its way forward. The company today announced a couple of new audio products which include a soundbar that’s compatible with Chromecast and even comes with Google Assistant baked in.

Vizio’s SmartCast 36″ soundbar promises 5.1 wireless sound, it includes crystal-clear dialog as well as a wireless subwoofer. While Vizio soundbars have been known to be frustrating when trying to stream music from Spotify, hopefully, the company will have addressed the issue in this new product.

The Vizio SmartCast 36″ soundbar is available for purchase right now for $250. There are smaller options available in the series that obviously cost less than the SmartCast 36″.

Vizio has also come out with the Grave Go speaker. It’s a Wi-Fi streaming device which can either be used as part of the home audio setup or as a portable speaker when you’re out and about. It’s very versatile that way. It also has support for Chromecast. the built-in battery promises six hours of life. Vizio is selling the Crave Go via its website starting today for $199.

iPhone 8 Delay Attributed To Display Production Problems

There have been multiple reports recently which suggest that the iPhone 8 is going to be delayed. The first OLED iPhone from Apple is now expected to arrive at some point next year as opposed to the fall this year. A new report claims that one of the big reasons why Apple won’t be able to come out with the iPhone 8 this year is because of supply issues associated with the flagship’s OLED display panel.

A new report claims that the iPhone 8 is going to face supply shortages which will be significantly more than the normal supply constraints that are faced by new flagship smartphones that are in demand.

Previous reports suggested that it was the low production yield of the fingerprint sensor that was causing the delay but it’s not believed to be the handset’s OLED display panel. The iPhone 8 is believed to be the first smartphone from Apple to feature an OLED display.

Samsung has a virtual monopoly in the small OLED display panel market which is why it’s believed to be the biggest supplier of OLED displays for the next-generation iPhone. The report claims that there might be a delay of up to two months in Samsung’s production of OLED panels for Apple which is going to result in a delayed release.

It goes without saying that none of this has been confirmed at this point in time so take it with a grain of salt for now.

You Can Now Buy Halo Wars: Definitive Edition On Its Own

All those who pre-ordered Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition last year received a free copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. It has not been possible to buy this game on its own since then but that changes now. If you’re interested, you can now buy Halo Wars: Definitive Edition on its own for Windows and Xbox One.

This isn’t entirely surprising given that it was rumored just a couple of weeks back that perhaps it will soon be possible to buy Halo Wars: Definitive Edition as a standalone title on Xbox One and PC.

Microsoft has confirmed that this title is now available for purchase on its own. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is a re-release of the original Halo Wars game that came out back in 2009 for the Xbox 360. The title offers improved graphics, new achievements, and all of the DLC released for the original game.

It can be purchased on its own via the Microsoft Store and Steam for $19.99. If you happen to own an Xbox One and Windows 10 PC then you should think about buying this game from the Microsoft Store given that it’s an Xbox Play Anywhere title so you will be able to play it on both platforms for the price of one.

How Solange Handles The Pressure Of Having To Be A 'Strong Woman'

Solange Knowles is just as human as the rest of us.

In a Q&A with Cosmopolitan at a Coachella event this week, the Grammy-winning artist opened up about how even she feels the pressure that many women do in constantly having to be a “strong woman.”

“We as women face a lot of challenges on a daily basis,” she said. “We have to stand firm in our walk and our intentions — but there are absolutely times when that weight feels too heavy, feels like a load that I just can’t bear that day.”

And like the rest of us, she’s had to find her own way of dealing with that burden.

Her solution? Art.

“I try to work through that in my…art, whatever medium that might be,” she said.

“My live performance [which is going down in museums and festivals across the country] is based around the color red, and all the things that communicates as a woman to the world — fiery, really vocal, present, almost a kind of stubborn color — and redefining it as being very complex…Being able to express that complexity, [I’m getting] a lot better at that the older I’ve gotten.”

Fiery, vocal, present, and stubborn? Sounds good to us.

Former 'Bachelor' Star Chris Soules Arrested After Fatal Hit-And-Run

Chris Soules, who starred on Season 19 of “The Bachelor,” was arrested Monday night following a fatal car crash, the Buchanan County Jail confirmed to the Des Moines Register.

Several outlets, including TMZ, are reporting that the crash happened near Aurora, Iowa, at 8:20 p.m. Soules’ pickup truck reportedly hit a John Deere tractor trailer, which was reportedly being driven by an older man. Soules allegedly fled the scene, and the man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

At 1:16 a.m. Tuesday, Soules, 35, was booked on a criminal charge of leaving the scene of an accident at which a death occurred, and has been medically examined. Authorities would not confirm the incident that led to Soules’ arrest with the Des Moines Register.

The Arlington native first gained attention on Andi Dorfman’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2014. He then went on to become “The Bachelor” before competing on Season 20 of “Dancing with the Stars.”

HuffPost reached out to ABC, who had no comment on the incident, and a representative for Soules. We will update this post accordingly.

Kim Kardashian Wore A Bikini *Gasp* And Piers Morgan Has A Problem With It

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

On today’s episode of Piers Morgan says gross things about women’s bodies, the British TV personality came for Kim Kardashian after she was photographed living her best life in a vintage Dior bikini.

The reality TV star has been vacationing with friends in Punta Mita, Mexico, this week to celebrate her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s 38th birthday. Apparently, that was license enough for Morgan to take a swipe at her on “Good Morning Britain” Tuesday for not being a walking Photoshop ad 24/7, 365 days a year.

“The great thing about these pics is she’s not flawless like every other woman, like every other man, none of us is flawless. Present company excluded,” Morgan said in conversation about the mother of two’s body with co-host Susanna Reid.

Before anyone gives credit to Morgan for engaging in discussion about toxic beauty standards, he promptly stuck his foot in his mouth when a clearly uncomfortable Reid defended Kardashian for showcasing her curves.

“I think we should celebrate cellulite, it’s a fact of life for, I’d say, 90 percent of women,” Reid said.

“Why would we celebrate it? We put up with it, tolerate it, but not accept it,” Morgan responded. “Flaws should not be celebrated.”

“My thoughts are she’s just launched her new emoji of her backside next to an ashtray which she’s called it ‘ass tray,’ so I think her posterior is fair game.”

Morgan doubled down on his stance over social media when Twitter promptly schooled him about the power of body positivity.

“Cellulite is not a flaw. It is a feature of many bodies, regardless of gender, shape or size,” Reid wrote on Twitter. “The female body isn’t a flaw. Cellulite isn’t a flaw,” another Twitter user added.

Kardashian apparently caught wind of the online criticism and took to Twitter to to express herself and seemingly poke fun at her hairstylist Jen Atkin for “fat shaming” her on vacation.

Morgan, of course, needed to have the last word and replied to Kardashian’s tweet about her “flawless body” with a thumbs up and smiling face emoji.

Obviously, she’s is going to be just fine, because as her Snapchat below proves, nobody loves Kim Kardashian like Kim Kardashian.

Gay Men Sound Off On Misconceptions About 'Femme' And 'Masc' Stereotypes

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

A new video from popular lesbian vlogger Arielle Scarcella asks a group of gay men in relationships to reflect on cultural notions of “masculine” and “feminine” identity and the way people inscribe these ideas onto their relationships.

In the video, three different gay couples describe their own perceptions of their gender expression, and the way that the world tries to police gender roles― often based on their perceived sexual roles.

“People are always ― every time we live broadcast, on all of our YouTube videos, we always get a question [like] ‘who’s the woman?’ Or they always correlate top and bottom with male or female,” one participant in the video says.

“I don’t know if it’s because they don’t understand how frustrating that question can be,” his boyfriend adds.

Scarcella hopes the video will help showcase the diverse spectrum of attraction among queer couples ― and that understanding queer relationships through a “man/woman” binary is not only often incorrect but also unproductive.

“Having done a video on butch women dating other masculine women, it was only fair to highlight the love between two more femme gay men,” she told HuffPost. “Love and attraction can be felt and seen in many forms.”

Check out the video above and head here to see more from Scarcella.

My Life As A Trans Fraternity Bro

Having your frat brothers raise more than $20,000 to pay for your top surgery shows that life can be full of surprises.

Donald Collins, a transgender student at Emerson College, made nationalheadlines in 2013 after his health insurance provider refused to pay for his top surgery. What happened after that is an unprecedented story of acceptance, brotherhood, and community fundraising in the face of bureaucracy and outdated thinking.

On April 25, Beacon Press will publish At the Broken Places: A Mother and Trans Son Pick Up the Pieces, a collaborative memoir by Collins and his mother Mary, a writer and professor of nonfiction at Central Connecticut State UniversityUniquely structured, with each chapter alternating between mother and son’s point of view, the book is a powerful account of family, parenting, and trans experience that has been hailed by Transparent creator Jill Soloway as “a necessary and beautiful book.” Read an excerpt below.

Beyoncé Is Starting A Scholarship For Woke Women In College

Beyoncé is celebrating the one-year anniversary of her earth-shattering visual album “Lemonade” by helping young women pay for college.

The singer announced her new program Formation Scholars on Monday, named after her powerfully pro-black single “Formation.” The program, as a part of her #BeyGood initiative, will award young ladies “who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident” for the 2017-2018 school year.

One student from each participating school ― Berklee College of Music, Parsons School of Design and historically black college or universities Howard University and Spelman College ― will be selected. Formation Scholars will give four scholarships to an incoming, current or graduate student studying creative arts, music, literature or African-American studies.

Beyoncé’s “Lemonade,” which recently earned the artist a Peabody award, has made an impact on college campuses before. In September, University of Texas at San Antonio offered a class on the album. Proffessors at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga dedicated a full week of workshops to unpacking the album and black womanhood.

Hands down, “Lemonade” is the gift that keeps on giving.
