Owning a brand new smartphone often evokes a feeling of pride — and rightfully so, I might add. However, to make sure that your spanking new device remains well protected from unwanted knocks and drops, there is the compulsory smartphone case which you ought to look into. Not all smartphone cases are created equal though, as certain cases are simply run-of-the-mill stuff which are nice to look at, but not too functional. Urban Armor Gear has something that is not only functional, but it is also aesthetically pleasing, targeting the Huawei Mate 9 and P10 smartphones with rugged cases of their own.
These new rugged cases are not only lightweight and slim, they are also touted to deliver unmatched protection when it comes to Huawei’s high end smartphones. Urban Armor Gear has already made a name for themselves in terms of delivering rugged, lightweight mobile accessories. Hence, the latest announcement of the new range of MIL-SPEC drop-tested cases which have been specially designed for Huawei’s latest Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10 and P10 Plus devices are certainly worth looking into.
Released in UAG’s signature Plasma Series, the cases will bring together an impact-resistant soft core with durable rubberized edges in order to provide the right kind of protection against drops and shocks. These have been specially engineered to deliver maximum protection without adding any kind of extra bulk to the device. To sweeten the deal, the striking yet translucent designs will enable the underlying color of the phone to show through, all the while ensuring that the ruggedized style for which UAG is famous for is maintained. It does not matter whether the abuse to your smartphones happen at the office or when you are out on a nature trail, UAG’s latest cases will be able to handle them both with aplomb.
Sporting feather-light composite construction in an armor shell and impact resistant soft core, the non-slip ruggedized grip makes sure you will always be able to get a grasp of it regardless of how sweaty your palms are. There are also scratch resistant skid pads and screen surround, and plays nice with the smartphone’s fingerprint sensor to boot. It will be available for $39.95 a pop in Ice (transparent) and Ash (gray transparent) shades.

Motorola has been slowly rolling out the Nougat update for its phones from last year, such as the Amazon version of the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus. So what about the Moto G4 Play? The good news is that it looks like it has been confirmed that the Moto G4 Play will be getting its Nougat update come this June.
This is according to a report from Android Authority in which they received a confirmation from a Lenovo spokesperson who said that the update will be pushed out in June. The statement reads, “Consumers will start to see Android Nougat on Moto G4 Play in June.” Note that this roll out is said to be globally, so it won’t just be limited to devices in the US.
We’re not sure why only in June and not earlier, especially when the other Moto G4 handsets have received their updates, and when you consider the fact that apart from some hardware differences, the Moto G4 handsets aren’t that different from each other, but we suppose better late than never.
There was no specific date mentioned in the statement so we can only assume a general release for the month of June and we’ll just have to keep an eye out for it.

In case it wasn’t already obvious, the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes in two variants: the “regular” Galaxy S8 and the larger Galaxy S8+. Apart from the difference in a couple of features and features, for all intents and purposes both phones are pretty much the same. However analysts believe that the larger Galaxy S8+ will outsell the smaller model.
In a report released by Yuanta Securities Korea, analysts at the company believe that the Galaxy S8+ could account for 53.9% of total Galaxy S8 sales, while the Galaxy S8 will take up the rest. It isn’t exactly by a huge margin, but if accurate it does go to show that consumers would definitely prefer having a larger screen.
It has also been suggested that the release of the DeX accessory (that allows users to connect the Galaxy S8 to a display and turn it into a computer) could also be attributed to the potentially higher sales of the Galaxy S8+. According to the analysts, they have noticed that the trend in preferring larger displays manifested itself in earlier models, like the Edge version of the Galaxy S6 and S7 accounting for 51.3% and 51.9% respectively.
That being said we guess this information isn’t really that surprising, especially with the minimal bezels which does help make the phone a bit smaller while maintaining a larger display, but what do you guys think? Are you more of a Galaxy S8 user or a Galaxy S8+?

As if it wasn’t hard enough for gamers to get their hands on the NES Classic Edition, Nintendo probably did no one any favors when they announced that they’d be discontinuing the console. This has resulted in a massive spike in prices on eBay, driving the price beyond what many would consider to be reasonable.
Now if you’d rather not fork out hundreds of dollars for a console that only costs $60, you might want to try your luck at Best Buy. This is because the retailer has announced that they will be restocking the console today. However we should point out that the consoles will only be available in stores and not online, so you’ll have to make a trip down to your local Best Buy if you want to get your hands on it.
TOMORROW
In Best Buy stores.
Limited quantities of #NESClassic will be available. Plus, save on select accessories. https://t.co/tQZN5NwlVu— Best Buy (@BestBuy) April 23, 2017
As the retailer notes, these will be in limited quantities so maybe you’ll want to hurry lest they are sold out. While the retailer did not mention it explicitly, it has been suggested that these could be the last batch of NES Classic Editions that we can expect from Nintendo, so like we said this could be your last chance.
That being said, not all is lost because a recent rumor has suggested that Nintendo could actually be returning with an SNES Classic Edition (or SNES Mini), so we guess you could always look forward to that if anything.

The greatest irony of the Galaxy S8 is that Samsung launched a crippled Bixby in the worst way possible. Whether you’re still waiting for promised features or have no care for Bixby at all, that means you’re left with a practically useless hardware button. Some have tried to give that button some other purpose in life, but Samsung quickly slammed … Continue reading
She sure knows how to make an entrance. Prudence wore a tutu and diamond necklace during the 38th Beautiful Bulldog Contest at Drake University on Sunday and emerged the winner.
Bravo, Prudence!
The 2-year-old English bulldog from Des Moines, Iowa, beat out 38 entrants from 10 states before 1,200 spectators at Drake’s Knapp Center and thousands more online, the university reported. She will now be the official mascot of this week’s Drake Relays.
“Overall, she’s just gorgeous,” one of the judges, Drake athletics director Sandy Hatfield Clubb, said in a news release. “She’s spunky and beautiful with a fun personality, and you can tell she has a great relationship with her owners [Angela and Tom Miller].”
And she looks stunning with her new crown.

As thousands of people marched in protest of President Donald Trump’s anti-science agenda, astronaut Peggy Whitson was in space breaking yet another record.
Early Monday morning, Whitson marked her 535th cumulative day in space, becoming the first U.S. astronaut to hold the record. Whitson is currently on her third long-duration mission to the International Space Station.
President Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka and NASA astronaut Kate Rubins plan to call Whitson on Monday and congratulate her.
The astronaut has broken multiple records during her pioneering NASA career, including:
* the first woman to command the International Space Station, which she has done twice
* the record-holder for most cumulative time spent spacewalking by a woman (she’s completed eight space walks)
* number five on the all-time space walking list
In response to her latest achievement, Whitson tweeted her gratitude to those who had helped throughout her career.
Fans who want to keep up with Whitson can follow her on Twitter @AstroPeggy.
