BMW Hoverbike LEGO Review

This week we’re taking a peek at a LEGO motorcycle [BMW R 1200 GS Adventure] that can be re-built as a hoverbike. It’s completely batty, to be sure – but the appeal in having a BMW-branded hoverbike was more than I could handle. I had to built it – and built it I did. It took a few hours (spread … Continue reading

Moto Z2 Play leaks in press photos: more of the same, only better

Yet another Motorola smartphone has leaked, this time the Moto Z2 Play. The handset has been shown front, side, and back in what appears to be a trio of press photos, all three of them laying bare everything the phone has to offer (as far as aesthetics are concerned). Assuming the leaked photo is an accurate look at the handset, … Continue reading

We All Have The Right To Bodily Autonomy #SAAM

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

If anyone ever tells you that you’re a lesser human being because you don’t want to have sex with them ― cut them out of your life. We all have rights to our own bodies and we all have the right to say no. We should all have the right to autonomy over our own bodies.

When it comes to sexual activity, nothing is more powerful than the word ‘no’. If a person is trying to coax you into something you don’t want, you have the right to say no. If a person you’re with doesn’t make you feel safe enough to say no, you need to cut them out of your life.

ItsBabyJ is here to remind you that bodily autonomy is your right. Just because a person has lots of followers on social media or plays on a sports team doesn’t mean they’re entitled to your body. Reserve the right to say no and reserve the right to your own body.

There is no excuse for inappropriate sexual behaviour. That’s what Sexual Assault Awareness Month is all about. Let’s ditch the excuses and recognize that bragging about sexual assault is a problem. Get outraged about sexual assault and ensure your friends and family are asserting their bodily autonomy.

Democratic Party Draws A Line In The Sand On Abortion Rights

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

WASHINGTON ― Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez became the first head of the party to demand ideological purity on abortion rights, promising Friday to support only Democratic candidates who back a woman’s right to choose.

“Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health,” Perez said in a statement. “That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”

“At a time when women’s rights are under assault from the White House, the Republican Congress, and in states across the country,” he added, “we must speak up for this principle as loudly as ever and with one voice.”

Perez’s statement follows the DNC’s controversial embrace of Heath Mello, a Democratic mayoral candidate in Omaha, Nebraska, whose years-long history of voting against abortion rights in the state Legislature drew fire from progressives this week. Daily Kos, a liberal website that raises money for lesser-known Democratic candidates, pulled its endorsement of Mello this week after discovering his history on the issue, and NARAL Pro-Choice America President Ilyse Hogue slammed the DNC for adding him to its cross-country unity tour.

“The actions today by the DNC to embrace and support a candidate for office who will strip women — one of the most critical constituencies for the party — of our basic rights and freedom is not only disappointing, it is politically stupid,” Hogue said in a statement.

Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health.

Perez initially defended the DNC’s acceptance of an anti-abortion Democrat.

“Our job at the DNC is to help Democrats who have garnered support from voters in their community cross the finish line and win ― from school board to Senate,” Perez said. “The biggest threat to women’s reproductive rights is the relentless Republican attacks on women’s health care, including legal, accessible abortion services. And I won’t let anyone get in the way of our fight to protect a woman’s right to choose.”

But Perez changed course Friday and delivered a big victory to the reproductive rights movement, saying that he “fundamentally disagree[s] with Heath Mello’s personal beliefs about women’s reproductive health” and that “every candidate who runs as a Democrat should do the same, because every woman should be able to make her own health choices. Period.”

Perez’s statement will likely alienate some high-profile anti-abortion Democrats in the party, including Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and Sens. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Edwards said at the Democratic National Convention in 2016 that the party might be more successful in the Deep South if it allowed more anti-abortion candidates to rise in the ranks.

“It’s hard to remain a big-tent party if you have a very small platform,” he said. “We have to make our voices heard.”

Reproductive rights advocates agree with Perez that the party must stand firm on the issue. Hogue celebrated the victory for the movement on Friday.

“Kudos to Chair Tom Perez and the DNC for recognizing that we are a stronger party when we stand for our core values,” she said in a statement to The Huffington Post. “Women across the country who are, and have always been, the heart and soul of the Party, are breathing a sigh of relief to know that the DNC has our backs, and we look forward to a day when we don’t have to fight this fight again.”

The Royals Make A Perfect Observation About Mental Health

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just keep delivering when it comes to spreading awareness about mental health.

The duo stopped by BBC Radio 1 in the U.K. today to talk about their mental health charity Heads Together, joke around (the couple would certainly make excellent radio DJs in another life) and impart some much-needed wisdom on psychological well-being.

Prince William stressed that it’s vital for people to recognize that mental health should not be considered a stigmatized topic given how common conditions like depression or anxiety are around the world.

“It’s been really eye opening for us seeing just how much this issue of mental health is really brimming under the surface of public consciousness,” he said. “I equate it to a boiling pan of soup with the lid on. We’ve just taken the lid off… It’s just a case of trying to get people to have a conversation and realize that emotions are not a bad thing. We’ve all got emotions and we need to speak about them.

The duchess agreed, adding that just being able to talk about mental health can make a difference when it comes to recovery and managing a condition.

“I met one young mother who said for her it was like medicine,” Kate said. “It just shows you in moments like that how powerful just starting talking to people can be.”

The interview is part of a media blitz in which the royal couple has been working to spread mental health awareness. Earlier this week, William spoke publicly with Lady Gaga (who is also an advocate for mental health) about shame and stigma keep people with disorders like PTSD from telling others that they’re struggling.

“It’s time that everyone speaks up and feels very normal about mental health,” he said during the chat. “It’s the same as physical health.”

It’s encouraging to see such high-profile people be so genuinely dedicated to this cause. Applause all around.

True 'Harry Potter' Fans Will Never, Ever Drink Unicorn Frappuccinos

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

Accio any other drink at Starbucks.

On Wednesday, the popular coffee brand broke the internet when it debuted its new Unicorn Frappuccino.

The frozen drink is made with mango syrup, a sour blue drizzle, and topped with vanilla whipped cream and sweet pink and sour blue powder.

Naturally, many find the cotton-candy-colored concoction pretty magical.

But the idea of drinking the essence of a unicorn is unsettling to “Harry Potter” fans, who are quick to point out that in the beloved series by J.K. Rowling the drinking of unicorn’s blood isn’t exactly a great thing.

In fact, it’s downright despicable.

Allow this excerpt from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone to explain why the drinking of unicorn blood could make your house lose, like, 92,480,234,823,098 gazillion points:

“Only one who has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, would commit such a crime. The blood of a unicorn will keep you alive, even if you are an inch from death, but at a terrible price. You have slain something so pure and defenseless to save yourself, you will have but a half-life, a cursed life, from the moment the blood touches your lips.”

Drinking unicorn blood was one of the many ways in which Voldemort, the series’ main antagonist, keeps himself alive.

And thus, lovers of the wizarding world made their feelings about the trendy drink known on the interwebs.
