Growing up, one of my favorite CD-ROM games was called The Simpsons: Virtual Springfield. As games go, it wasn’t that advanced, but it let me take a virtual, interactive tour through my favorite television show. The game had in-jokes from the show, voices from the cast, and perfect attention to detail. It was awesome.
Have you gotten a call from the number 1-800-323-8603? Does it say on Caller ID that it’s from the Department of Homeland Security? It’s definitely a scam. Hang up and don’t give them any information.
A new book published by the Imperial War Museum features a rare collection of color photos from World War II, some of which haven’t been seen in over 70 years. From P-51D Mustangs and Flying Fortresses through to anti-aircraft spotters and flame hurling tanks, these images cast the war in a vibrant new light.
Most of us know The Silence of the Lambs as that seemingly family-friendly film about an FBI agent trying to make a name for herself that our parents mistakenly let us watch when we were way to young to learn about cannibalism. But did you ever wonder what the horror movie would look like as a rom-com?
I always felt like the exit of Boba Fett in Return of the Jedi was rather flippant on the part of George Lucas. I mean Boba had been a cool character, and played an important role in the story. I always rather disliked how Boba was written out of the series with so little fanfare. I wanted to see him and Luke or Han get into a duel and have Boba die at the hands of a hero. I didn’t want Boba to basically be blundered into death by getting randomly tossed into a Sarlacc pit. I have often wondered what the Boba’s time in that pit might have been like, and what could have happened to him.
I can’t imagine a rocket pack equipped bounty hunter just giving up. Artist Sergey Grechanyuk created a fantastic illustration that shows what those moments in the pit might have been like, with Boba Fett wielding his knife and stabbing away at the monster’s tentacles.
A series of subsequent panels show Fett escaping and walking right out of the Sarlacc pit and off into the desert. Even if he couldn’t reach his blaster or a knife, I always wondered why Boba didn’t fire up his jetpack again and fly out of the pit.

Jimmy Fallon Treats Sienna Miller And Anthony Bourdain To Some Really Terrible Food
Posted in: Today's ChiliIf Jimmy Fallon invites you to a dinner party, do yourself a favor and eat a little before you show up.
Case in point: “The Tonight Show” host was joined by Sienna Miller and Anthony Bourdain on Tuesday for a round of “Secret Ingredient.” In this game of food and chance, participants sample dishes and must identify a most unwelcome “secret ingredient.”

Nope.

For some, marijuana can feel like a magical elixir, particularly when it comes to making art. Getting high can help alleviate stress and self-doubt, get the creative juices flowing and awaken budding artists to the the tactile excitement of making work, instead of worrying about the final product.
This is the reasoning behind “Puff, Pass & Paint,” a “4/20 friendly art class” now offered in cities in Colorado, Oregon, Washington D.C., Nevada and California ― all of which have legalized cannabis. The weed wizard behind this exceedingly chill vision is Denver-based artist Heidi Keyes.
Keyes leads two-hour art-making sessions for a maximum of 20 students at a time, all of whom must be at least 21 years old. She guides her students through a series of choreographed painting steps, in the style of “paint and sip” classes like Pinot’s Palette. Yet experimentation and play are highly encouraged; artists are not required to strictly following Keyes’ lead.
Participants are also not required to smoke, but the class offers a safe space for them to light up if they so desire. For some unfamiliar with their creative intuition, a few hits can help put the mind at ease. “Cannabis helps us break out of our shells and rediscover the childlike wonder that exists in making art,” Keyes explained to The Creators Project, “in using our hands to paint and write and draw and play with clay.”
According to The Creators Project, there is no typical “Puff, Pass & Paint” student. The classes usually draw experienced stoners and weed newbies alike, some people in their 20s and some in their 80s.
Keyes has donated vouchers for the class to veterans groups and other communities in need. “Just a couple of weeks ago, in San Francisco, a veteran had been gifted a spot,” Keyes said. “And he came up to me afterwards with tears in his eyes to tell me that this was the first time he had felt relaxed since he returned from combat. This isn’t just a class or a business for me — it’s a movement.”
Ultimately, the class’ mellow and blissful atmosphere fights stigmas often associated with weed, showing how the plant’s effects can be healing, stimulating and absorbing ― not all that different from the experience of making art.

Joe Biden Reminds Men Just How Important They Are In The Fight Against Sexual Assault
Posted in: Today's ChiliFormer Vice President Joe Biden wants to get more men involved in the national fight against sexual assault.
“We haven’t yet truly changed the culture to the point where no man believes he has a right to raise his hand to a woman and no woman ever asks herself what she did to deserve it,” Biden began his essay published by Cosmopolitan on Wednesday. In the essay, Biden discussed his organization It’s On Us and how it’s working to prevent sexual assault.
“We’re still working on that ― together,” he continues. “And I need your help.”
Biden reflected on what it was like to pass the Violence Against Women Act in 1994 and how the law has helped to reduce violence against women. But when he became vice president in 2008, he reviewed the current sexual assault statistics in the U.S. and he was “heartbroken” by what he found.
The rate of violence against women was as high as when Biden drafted VAWA. One in 5 women will be sexually assaulted at some point in her college career and 1 in 3 women will be victims of intimate partner violence at some point in her lifetime.
So Biden created the It’s On Us organization alongside former President Barack Obama in 2014. Their main goal? Get men involved.
“We called on men to step in, at a bar, at a party, in a dorm room, or anywhere they might see a woman being targeted for sexual assault, especially if she is incapacitated by drugs or alcohol or for any other reason is not able to consent,” Biden wrote in Cosmo. “In my view, men’s silence when they see this happening is complicity. We also know that sexual violence happens in LGBTQ communities too. It’s on Us is about changing the culture for everyone.”
Students are leading the way in the fight against sexual assault, Biden wrote.
“In huge part because of [students],” he concluded, “we are so much closer to a world where no woman will ever blame herself for being sexually assaulted and no man will make excuses for this unconscionable behavior.”
