A mountain lion may have snuck into a California home and snatched a sleeping dog from the foot of a family’s bed on Monday.

Pescadero resident Victoria Fought said she was sleeping with her daughter around 3 a.m. when she woke to the sound of her 15-pound rescue dog barking, the San Mateo Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Fought reportedly saw the shadow of an animal entering through some French doors that were cracked open to let the dog in and out. She then watched the animal grab her dog from its bed and leave, according to sheriff’s office.

“As soon as I saw it walk out, I said, ‘That’s a lion,’” Fought told CBS 5 News of the rattling sight.

Authorities searched the property, finding large, wet paw prints at the entrance of the bedroom, as well as some blood. The dog is still missing.

“Obviously the family is very shaken,” Detective Sal Zuno told the San Mateo Daily Journal. “Unfortunately, their dog was taken, it is unfortunate that this was one of their family members, but we’re glad the people were not hurt.”

The family told CBS 5 News that years earlier, a mountain lion attacked one of their horses, which was able to escape.

Authorities are advising residents to secure their doors and windows, as more than half of California is mountain lion habitat.

Iyanla Vanzant Counsels Reality Star Guest: 'THIS Is What Depression Looks Like'

As a reality show personality from BET’s “Frankie & Neffe,” Shelby “Soullow” Lowery knew what it felt like for his life to read like an open book. But unbeknownst to many, the 43-year-old father and husband to the outspoken Neffeteria Pugh was struggling to hide the darkness that had been permeating every aspect of his being.

Lowery opened up about his struggles on the season premiere of “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” addressing the traumas of his past, like his childhood molestation and the loss of his own child. As Lowery explained to Iyanla, never coping with his traumas left him feeling drained and exhausted as an adult.

“I don’t want to be here no more,” Lowery said, breaking into tears. “I want to give up.”

Iyanla offered comfort and a nuanced perspective to her guest.

“Shelby, it is unkind and unloving to expect yourself to be able to do something that you don’t know how to do, that no one taught you how to do,” Iyanla said. “It’s not that you want to die, Shelby. It’s that you’ve never been taught how to live. You’ve never been taught how to live, baby. You’ve been taught how to survive.”

In a voiceover, Iyanla addressed the issue of depression among others like Lowery. “Nearly 2 million African-American men suffer from depression, and more than 90 percent suffer in silence, never seeking help,” she said. “To be clear, this is what depression looks like, this is what it sounds like, this is what it feels like.”

Harry Styles Gets Real About Ex Taylor Swift In His New Interview

In an interview with Rolling Stone, a newly solo Harry Styles opened up about his relationship with Taylor Swift in 2012, a topic he’s infamously been tight-lipped about.

What he shares is down-to-earth and thoughtful, especially when he’s asked about Swift’s songs “Style” and “Out of the Woods,” both hits supposedly written about him. Styles is very much aware he’s associated with the songs and confesses, “I’m lucky if everything [we went through] helped create those songs.” While he hasn’t shared his thoughts on this with Swift herself, he certainly doesn’t hold a grudge and even compliments her work, “She doesn’t need me to tell her they’re great. They’re great songs.”

When asked what he would say to Swift today, Styles had quite a few words for his ex: “Certain things don’t work out. There’s a lot of things that can be right, and it’s still wrong.” He insists that rather than focus on what went wrong, he wants to celebrate the time they shared together instead:

You’re celebrating the fact it was powerful and made you feel something, rather than “This didn’t work out, and that’s bad.” And if you run into that person, maybe it’s awkward, maybe you have to get drunk … but you shared something. Meeting someone new, sharing those experiences, it’s the best shit ever. So thank you.

That’s a pretty thoughtful way to look back on a relationship, if you ask us.

Richard Simmons Hospitalized With 'Severe Indigestion'

Richard Simmons was hospitalized Monday in California as a result of “severe indigestion,” manager Michael Catalano told ABC News.

“After a few days of battling severe indigestion and discomfort while eating, we agreed it was best for him to seek treatment,” Catalano said.

Simmons was hospitalized at an “undisclosed location,” but sources told TMZ that it wasn’t so serious as to require an ambulance to come pick him up from his home. Instead, his team drove him.

“He’s already feeling better and is expected to make a full recovery,” Catalano said.

Simmons was hospitalized last summer as well, because of what he said was “dehydration.” At the time, his erratic behavior caused his caretaker to call 911.

The fitness guru, once one of the most visible members of the entertainment industry, has recently become a source of intense interest due to his decision to remove himself from public view.

That interest was only amplified in February with the release of “Missing Richard Simmons,” a podcast that garnered both praise and criticism for trying to figure out what happened to the beloved figure.

But after so many years in the spotlight, Simmons was “ready to quiet down,” Catalano said last month.

“It doesn’t mean he’s done, but for now, he’s enjoying the time away from the public,” the manager said.

Earlier this month, Simmons reportedly signed a merchandising, endorsement and licensing deal that could pull him back into the spotlight.

Drake Calls Out 'Offensive' California Country Club For 'Racial Profiling'

Drake had an experience during the annual Coachella festival last weekend that was quite “offensive,” according to the Grammy Award winner.

On Sunday, the “Fake Love” singer posted an image on Instagram of local La Quinta, California, country club, The Madison Club, along with a caption dubbing the private residential community the “most offensive” place he has ever stayed.

“The most offensive place I have ever stayed in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling #Coachella,” he wrote. He later deleted the post from his Instagram account.

While the singer-rapper didn’t provide additional details surrounding his experience, a rep for the clubhouse ― located a few miles away from the location of the festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio ― issued an apology to Drake via a statement issued to People.com.

“We are trying to get this issue fixed as soon as possible. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority and for you to experience such a thing is embarrassing for us,” the statement read. “We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will be issuing out a formal apology to you and the public. We will also be investigating this as we do not tolerate racial discrimination.”

Despite his unpleasant experience at the country club, which touts itself as having “one of the most spectacular golf courses in all of the United States,” Drake did seem to enjoy his surprise performance during Future’s set at Coachella on Saturday.

Stanford Backtracks After Prohibiting Use Of Trump Photo For Sexual Assault Conference

Stanford University is making headlines again ― this time for allegedly censoring a poster promoting a sexual assault awareness conference that featured an image of President Donald Trump.

Created by veteran law professor Michele Landis Dauber, the poster included a screenshot of Trump, Billy Bush and actress Arianne Zucker from the now-infamous “Access Hollywood” tape in which Trump boasts about kissing women without their consent and grabbing them “by the pussy.” Dauber, who has been teaching at Stanford Law for 16 years, created the poster to promote a conference she’s co-hosting in May titled “The Way Forward: Title IX Advocacy In The Trump Era.”

Although Dauber created the poster in January, she says she’s still fighting with the university to get it printed and disseminated before the conference date, which is now just two weeks away. The flyer was supposed to be put up around campus, published on the conference’s website and sent out to students by email.

The Guardian reported that Stanford barred Dauber from printing the poster with Trump’s image because it went against school policies surrounding political activity on campus. The university believed the flyer could be “seen as partisan,” according to The Guardian.

Lisa Lapin, Stanford’s vice president of communications, initially told The Guardian that Dauber had “not been barred” from using Trump’s image and demanded the article be retracted. The publication, however, had emails provided by Dauber that proved the university had prohibited her from using the photo for months. Lapin then amended her statement and said that the law school “did not believe that the photo was appropriate.”

“As a nonprofit the university must comply with the law that prevents it from engaging in certain partisan activities,” Lapin told The Huffington Post on Monday morning. “While the university does not take positions, individuals on our campus are encouraged to share their ideas.”

Below is the poster Dauber created for the sexual assault awareness conference.

After months of back and forth with the university, Dauber told The Huffington Post this is about way more than a poster.

“I think what we’re dealing with is the chilling of free speech under Donald Trump, especially in the context of sexual assault,” Dauber said. “This really is an issue about academic freedom and censorship. It’s important for professors to know that this is what the future of academic freedom under Donald Trump may look like.”

Dauber is no stranger to speaking out against the powers that be: the law professor is currently leading the fight to recall the judge who sentenced former Stanford student Brock Turner to only six months in county jail for three felony sex abuse convictions.

According to Dauber, the same day the university censored her flyer, the faculty senate had a discussion with Stanford’s president about budget concerns under Trump’s administration.

“I think it’s important for the public to understand that we count on universities to be the bulwark of critical thought and free speech but university budgets, for example, depend so heavily on government subsidy,” Dauber said.

Although Stanford’s logo appeared on the flyer, Dauber told HuffPost she raised most of the funds for the conference herself, and that the university had very little to do with creating and planning the event. Dauber said she offered to pay for the flyers and distribute them, but Stanford would still not budge.

“This is an important issue that goes to Stanford’s integrity,” Dauber said. “But also beyond Stanford to the integrity of American universities and the importance of free speech and academic freedom under a president who has shown over and over again that he’s very thin-skinned, very sensitive to criticism and will lash out at critics.”

I think what we’re dealing with is the chilling of free speech under Donald Trump, especially in the context of sexual assault.
-Michele Landis Dauber

In an email to HuffPost on Monday morning, Lapin disputed Dauber’s story.

“The law school believed the use of the image, at an event with institutional sponsorship, created ‘an appearance of partisanship’ that it seeks to avoid,” she said. “However, the school was willing, and in fact offered to the professor, to seek a final decision from the university authority on the matter, which is the Office of the General Counsel. Professor Dauber understood she had an option for this final opinion, but said she wanted to ‘think about it.’ She never in fact sought this final decision from the university prior to going to the press with her claims.”

Lapin said the university sent an email late Friday night giving permission to Dauber to use the photo. According to Lapin, the university determined that the use of the photo specifically for this conference was permissible under its policy.

“The law school has communicated with Professor Dauber to assure she has permission to use the photo in question,” Lapin wrote.

Dauber said she didn’t receive an email Friday night from the university. It wasn’t until Monday afternoon, she said, that the university finally sent her an email telling her she could go ahead and use the image of Trump on the flyer.

While the image is now featured on the conference’s website, Dauber said she’s still waiting on the university to make hard copies of the flyers to be distributed on campus.

I’ve been trying for months to get the university to allow the use of this image,” Dauber said. “I’m disappointed that it took media reporting in order for the university to say that they will honor its obligation to protect faculty academic freedom.”

James Corden And Riz Ahmed Tackle United, Sean Spicer And Pepsi In 'Drop The Mic'

If your “Reasons to Love Riz Ahmed” list wasn’t already long enough based on his recent appearances on “Girls” or in “Rogue One,” his bit on “The Late Late Show” should add a new bullet point.

The British actor joined host James Corden Monday night for a good, old-fashioned rap battle. While Corden certainly has musical chops, Ahmed’s rap experience — both solo as Riz MC and as one-half of the duo Swet Shop Boys — naturally tipped the scales in his favor.

Both stars had lines ripped straight from the headlines, like Corden’s early one: “This is a blood bath, it’s not a fair fight / It’s like you were overbooked on a United Air flight.”

Ahmed served up a verbal right hook in response, comparing the late-night host to a low-rent version of the White House press secretary: “I speak the truth, you’re a liar / He’s like Sean Spicer mixed with a singing Uber driver.”

In a major mic-drop moment, the actor told Corden he simply ripped off Graham Norton’s act.

“I wouldn’t start this war if Kendall Jenner brought out Pepsis,” Ahmed said in his final lines, managing to squeeze just one more relevant pop culture tidbit into the mix.

Their battle is a delight to watch — which you can do so above — but Riz, what would Paul-Louis think?
