Twitter Thinks The White House Easter Egg Roll Bunny Channels 'Donnie Darko'

The 139th annual White House Easter Egg Roll kicked off Monday morning with a furry friend that the internet found mildly disturbing.

Thousands of adults and children came to the South Lawn to participate as the formal event, which began in 1870s on the grounds of the Capitol, kicked off at 7:30 a.m. ET. Various other activities and entertainment accompanied the actual egg roll, a game where children race wooden eggs with spoons.

Per tradition that began during the Nixon administration, there is also a costumed Easter bunny to aid in the celebrations. But this year, the bespeckled bunny that made an appearance had viewers, uh, perplexed.

The suit, mouth agape, had Twitter users all over making comparisons to a character in the 2001 cult-classic film “Donnie Darko.”

For reference, this is what the actual “Donnie Darko” bunny, Frank, looks like:

The “Donnie Darko” bunny is clearly more sinister, but the joke is still pretty great:

Maybe next year we’ll get the Sean Spicer bunny again.

Dad's Comics Nail The Hilarity Of Raising Kids Today

Over the past five years, cartoonist and dad Chris Grady has gained a following with his hilarious web comic, Lunarbaboon. From sleepless nights to noisy toys to full-on tantrums, the comic covers the Toronto-based father’s experiences raising his two young children.

On April 4, Grady released a compilation of his favorite parenting comics called Lunarbaboon: The Daily Life of Parenthood.

The dad told HuffPost he created Lunarbaboon shortly after becoming a parent. “I was dealing with some serious anxiety and depression and the comic started as a form of therapy. The idea was that I would take things that were stressing me out and try and find the humor in them,” he explained.

“It turned out that a lot of what stressed me out was parenting, which is why so many of my comics focused on me as a father,” he added.

Grady, who works as an elementary school teacher, has a 6-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. He said his son loves the comics and recently started drawing his own.

Beyond his kids’ seal of approval, Grady’s hope is that his comics resonate with other parents.

“I hope other parents who are struggling with parenthood get the message that they are not alone,” he said. “That life with kids can be hard, but it comes with many rewards.”

Before Neffeteria “Neffe” Pugh made a life with her husband Shelby “Soullow” Lowery, the reality TV star was married to a man with whom she had a son. But Neffe’s family life crumbled when that son died at 3 months old.

Appearing on the premiere of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” on Saturday, Neffe opened up about the devastating loss, which she acknowledged is something she had never dealt with before. The day her son died, Neffe said, was still clear in her mind.

“We was due to get up for church, and he was gone. I picked him up,” Neffe said, before taking a long pause. “He was stiff.”

Neffe called the ambulance, and her ex-husband gave their child mouth-to-mouth. However, nothing could be done. “I don’t wish that on nobody,” Neffe told Iyanla, crying. “All I could do was just sit in the corner and just hold my baby, and I was rocking and shaking. I ain’t never felt nothing like that about life.”

Iyanla, who has lost a child herself, hugged Neffe and offered her sincerest sympathies. Though reliving the experience is clearly painful, Iyanla points out that confronting life’s traumas is the only way to heal from them.

“When you are raised by the code of the streets, you learn how to move from hurt to hurt, pain to pain,” Iyanla says in a voiceover. “Now that Neffeteria has finally started opening up, we can explore all of her baggage and begin the healing process.”

Neffe and her husband, Shelby, continue their work with Iyanla on Part 2 of “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” airing Saturday, April 22, at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.

That Was the Best Doctor Who Season Premiere in Years

Doctor Who made its welcome (and long overdue) return this past weekend, and it was all decidedly new: a new companion, new tone, and in some ways, a new sensibility from showrunner Steven Moffat, as compared to his past few seasons on the series. Still, for all its freshness, season 10’s opening episode couldn’t help…

Beetlejuice Handbook for the Recently Deceased Journal: It’s SHOWTIME!

This book looks just like the Handbook for the Recently Deceased from Beetlejuice. But unlike the one in the movie, it won’t instruct you on what to do when you die. Instead, it’s a hardcover journal, so you can write down your own thoughts about being recently deceased or anything else.

This journal has 250 pages for you to fill. Just don’t say you-know-who’s name three times while you’re doodling. I think you can probably write it three times safely, but it’s better not to take the chance.

If you fill up this journal with nothing but his name? God only knows what would happen. DO NOT DO THIS. Seriously. Just don’t. It’s really bad! Just take my word for it.

Galaxy S8+ Prototype With Dual Camera Surfaces

Prior to the official announcement of Samsung’s new flagship smartphone, it was rumored that the Galaxy S8 would feature a dual camera system on the back. We now know that isn’t the case but it appears that Samsung did play around with this idea which is why there were so many rumors about it. Pictures of a purported Galaxy S8+ prototype have surfaced online which reveal that the company did think about opting for a dual camera system on the back.

The pictures of this Galaxy S8+ prototype have leaked online out of China. There’s nothing too different about this handset than the one Samsung has officially announced, save for the fact that it features a dual rear camera.

Samsung reportedly decided to not go with a dual rear camera because it didn’t see any real value in it. Dual camera systems are increasingly becoming popular and we’re bound to see more manufacturers opt for them in their flagship smartphones this year.

Not Samsung, though, at least not for the Galaxy S8. It’s too soon to be certain right now whether or not Samsung is thinking about making this change for the Galaxy Note 8 which is due later this year in the fall.

There will no doubt be rumors about a dual camera system for the Galaxy Note 8 in a few months but it can’t be said for sure right now if that will really happen.
