North Korea attempted to launch a missile on Sunday near Sinpo, on its east coast, but it is believed to have failed, South Korea’s military said.

The attempted missile launch comes a day after the North held a military parade in its capital marking the birth anniversary of the state founder where what appeared to be new ballistic missiles were displayed.

Rival Protesters Clash Over Trump In Berkeley, California

Right and left-wing protesters clashed on Saturday at a park in downtown Berkeley, California, exchanging blows and throwing bottles and cans as police in riot gear sought to separate the two camps, using explosive devices at one point.

At least nine demonstrators were arrested during the brawls, which broke out at an event originally organized as a so-called “Patriots Day” free speech rally and picnic by conservative activists. Several people appeared to suffer minor injuries.

“I wanted to show my support (for President Donald Trump),” said Daryl Tempesta, 52, who said he served in the U.S. Air Force near the end of the Cold War.

“As a veteran, I like the track America is on, and that Trump is willing to stand and say we are still America and we are not going to be globalist, we’re not going to be a communist country. That’s a message I can get behind,” Tempesta said.

Among the counter-protesters were self-styled anarchists of the left, dressed in black and covering their faces with masks or bandanas.

Montana Democrat Embraces Economic Populism In Congressional Campaign

Colorful Democratic candidate Rob Quist is emphasizing a message of economic populism in a Montana special congressional election, as emboldened Democrats look to win seats in places Republicans have long held.

“Did you know in Congress there are nearly 300 millionaires? No wonder their so-called health reform was just another tax break for the rich,” said Quist, a popular folk singer in the state, in an advertisement his campaign released this week. “And no wonder they want to sell our public lands to private developers and hand our Social Security to Wall Street. This should not be the millionaires club, this is the House of Representatives.”

The populist focus comes as Democrats are seeing a wave of Democratic activism in response to the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration.

The party is already having some success flipping seats in local races at the state level. And on Tuesday, Democrats saw encouraging results in a special congressional election in Kansas, where a Democrat lost but ran a stunningly close race that Republicans had to pour tremendous resources into at the last minute. James Thompson, the Democrat in the race, also embraced progressive support from a group that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) backed in the race’s final days.

The next test for Democrats will come on Tuesday in a Georgia special election, where Democrat Jon Ossoff is running for another long-held GOP seat.

Quist announced this week that he had raised $1.3 million in the first quarter of 2017 and received over 22,000 contributions.

Republicans plan to pour resources into the race and spend more than $1 million in it, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. Donald Trump, Jr. intends to campaign on behalf of Greg Gianforte, the Republican candidate in the race, according to the Journal.

The Montana election will be held on May 25.

Rotating Restaurant Crushes Young Boy To Death

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

A 5-year-old boy died Friday after becoming stuck in between the wall and revolving floor of the Sun Dial, a rotating restaurant in Atlanta.

He and his family were visiting from Charlotte, North Carolina, The Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports. Authorities have not released their identities.

The boy had wandered away from his family but was only a few feet from their table when the accident happened.

“Somehow, the child became lodged between the wall and a table as the dining area rotated,” Atlanta Police Officer Stephanie Brown told Buzzfeed News.

The rotating floor stopped moving when he became caught and restaurant staff and patrons were able to get him out, but he later died at the hospital of his injuries. He was bleeding from the head when pulled out, according to Fox News.

The boy was about four to five feet away from his parents went it happened.

“We simply think he lost sight of his parents and panicked and found himself in that situation,” Atlanta police spokesman Warren Pickard told WRAL. “A small child don’t know what to do in those moments, and it crushed his little small body.” Numerous people sprang into action to help the boy when they realized what had happened, Pickard added.

The Sun Dial Restaurant is located at the top of the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, 72 stories high.

”There was a tragic accident at the hotel involving a young boy,” said hotel manager George Reed in a statement that CBS 46 obtained.“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Shaquille O'Neal To Pay For Funeral Of Boy Who Accidentally Shot Himself On Instagram

NBA great Shaquille O’Neal is doing what he can to help a grieving mother who found her son dead after he accidentally shot himself with a gun earlier this week.

Shaniqua Stephens was downstairs in the family’s home in Forest Park, Georgia, on Monday night when she heard a loud bang. She went upstairs and found her 13-year-old son, Malachi Hemphill, had accidentally shot himself while playing with a gun live on Instagram. Doctors later pronounced him dead.

“He was my only son. He was only just 13. Just the thought of me seeing him on the floor will never leave my brain,” Stephens said. She has also said that she does not know how her son came to be in possession of the gun.

O’Neal has offered to cover the funeral services for Hemphill’s family.

No mother should have to go through this,” the Hall of Famer said, according to a statement provided to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I can only imagine the pain that she and all of Malachi’s family must be feeling.

“I just wanted to do what I could to help them at such a terrible time,” he added.
