WhatsApp For Web Could Get A Revoke Feature As Well

Last year it was revealed that WhatsApp could be getting a new feature in the form of “revoke”. For those unfamiliar with the feature, basically it allows users to take back messages and delete them. As it stands, deleting a message now only deletes in on your end, but revoking would remove it from both sides.

Now according to a tweet by @WABetaInfo, it seems that WhatsApp could also be considering bringing the feature onto the web version of the chat client. Basically this means that users on mobile and web will be able to get the same features at the same time, although we guess it shouldn’t be surprising given that the web/desktop client is more or less in line with the mobile version.

However the web version did reveal some additional details. According to the information, the revoke feature will work on messages that are sent in the last 5 minutes, meaning that you won’t be able to revoke older messages. However it has been noted that while the feature for the web was discovered, it has been disabled for now so don’t expect to use it just yet.

We’re not sure what’s with the hold up on the rollout of the feature, but we reckon it probably won’t be too long until it has been made available but we’ll keep our eyes peeled anyway.

Hyundai Blue Link Now Works With Google Home/Assistant

In futuristic movies, everything seems to be voice controlled, where you can wake up, tell your home AI to read you the news, make a pot of coffee, check the traffic, and so on. That future is almost here as more companies are starting to make their devices smarter than ever. For Hyundai owners, it seems that the company’s Blue Link app just got more functional.

In an announcement on its website, Hyundai has revealed that its Blue Link now works with Google Home and Google Assistant. This was actually demonstrated earlier this year at CES 2017, but we guess the feature is finally here. What this means is that users will now be able to control their connected cars using Google Home/Assistant.

According to Hyundai, “The Blue Link Agent for the Google Assistant allows control of various functions of a Hyundai vehicle with simple voice commands. These commands can include “Ok Google, Tell Blue Link to start my Santa Fe and set the temperature to 82 degrees, “Ok Google, Tell Blue Link to send the address of the Empire State Building to my Sonata”, and “Ok Google, ask Blue Link to unlock my car”.”

In addition to this announcement, Hyundai also revealed that in a bid to get more users using the features, Blue Link Connected Care, Remote, and Guidance packages are now free for 3 years on all 2018 Hyundai models.

Monograph Smartwatch Wants To Help You Remember Moments In Your Life

Pretty much all smartwatches today do the same thing, which is that they track your vitals like steps, distance walked, calories burnt, your heart rate, display notifications from your smartphone, let you check/send messages/emails, control music playback, and so on. However the Monograph smartwatch wants to be different.

In a world where we have our faces buried in our phones and tablets, the Monograph is a smartwatch that doesn’t want to let its wearer forget important moments. The watch comes with a big red button on its side than when pressed, will help users record important moments in their life, like a birthday, a wedding, graduation, a promotion at work, and so on.

The watch also comes with an accompanying app that lets users edit those moments by adding text, images, and videos to it, and ultimately what this does is that it creates a highlight reel of your life. We’re not sure if this is everything that users look for in a smartwatch, but it is an interesting idea.

However putting aside the somewhat novel feature, the Monograph smartwatch is a beautifully designed timepiece so even if you have no use for its features, the watch itself would look great simply as a fashion accessory. 2 Companies Sue To Block Their Drugs In 'Assembly Line' Arkansas Executions

Two pharmaceutical companies are asking a federal judge to stop Arkansas from using their drugs in the planned execution of seven men in 11 days this month.

The European-owned Fresenius Kabi USA and West-Ward Pharmaceuticals Corp. filed a friend of the court brief in support of a lawsuit by inmates because they’re opposed to their drugs being used in capital punishment.

“The use of the medicines in lethal injections runs counter to the manufacturers’ mission to save and enhance patients’ lives, and carries with it not only a public-health risk, but also reputational, fiscal and legal risks,” the companies said in their brief.

The drugs’ use in executions is a breech of the companies’ “supply chain” controls, argues the the brief, which was filed Thursday. The manufacturers “sell only to wholesalers and distributers who agree to resell only to acute-care hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities,” and the drugs were never intended to be used in executions, it states.

“The only conclusion is that these medicines were acquired from an unauthorized seller in violation of important contractual terms that the manufacturers relied on,” the companies added.

In addition, using drugs for capital punishment “creates a public-health risk because it could result in the denial of medicines from patients who need them most,” the brief stated.

Arkansas hasn’t executed anyone in more than a decade. Now officials plan to begin with a double execution on Monday and finish executions on April 27. (An eighth man, Jason McGehee, won a reprieve.) One defense attorney blasted the schedule as an “assembly line” execution, Reuters reported.

The state is reportedly rushing to kill the men before its supply of the controversial sedative midazolam used in executions runs out at the end of April. The drug has been implicated in botched executions in Ohio, Arizona and Oklahoma.

Arkansas officials won’t say where they obtained the drugs they intend to use, but Fresenius Kabi is suspected of manufacturing the potassium chloride — which stops the heart — planned for the executions. And The Associated Press reports that West-Ward is the likely source of the midazolam the state plans to use.

NFL Lineman Destroys A Bell While Celebrating End Of Chemotherapy

Houston Texans offensive lineman David Quessenberry has yet to block NFL defenders while battling Non-Hodgkins lymphoma for the past three years.

But this week he took out a hospital bell.

In an Instagram he posted Thursday, Quessenberry, listed at 6-foot-5 and 306 pounds, performed the ritual of ringing a bell to celebrate the end of his chemotherapy treatment. And he broke the bell right off.

The 26-year-old used the light moment to write a serious message about how cancer shouldn’t get credit for bringing out the good in people.

“This bell just like cancer never stood a chance,” he concluded in a postscript.

The Texans drafted Quessenberry out of San Jose State in 2013. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 after missing his rookie season because of an injury, the Houston Chronicle noted.

He’s on the Texans’ active/non-football illness list, per Bleacher Report.

“If there is anybody that can come back and play,” Texans coach Bill O’Brien told ESPN in June, “it’s David Quessenberry.”

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch Bundle Is Exclusive To Russia

The other day thanks to a photo that made its way onto Nintendo Russia’s website, it was revealed that there would be a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Switch bundle. In case it wasn’t obvious as to what it was, basically this is a Nintendo Switch that comes bundled with the upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

At that time it was unclear if it would see a release in other markets, but unfortunately if you were hoping that would be the case, you would be sorely mistaken. According to a report from GameSpot, it seems that Nintendo has confirmed to the publication that the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle will be exclusive to Russia.

If you were hoping it would be a timed exclusive, prepare to be even more disappointed as a Nintendo rep said that there are no plans to release it for other countries right now. According to the rep, “The bundle is exclusive to Russia and there are no plans to bring it to other countries at this time.”

We’re not sure why there are no plans to release it in other parts of the world, especially when you consider the fact that the Mario Kart 8 Wii U bundle was available in multiple markets, but either way we guess gamers will just have to buy the console and the game separately. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is currently scheduled for a release on the 28th of April.

Upcoming Patch Will Improve Overwatch’s Console Aiming Options

When it comes to FPS gaming, there are some gamers who argue that using a mouse and keyboard combo is the best, while others claim that using the analog sticks on a gamepad works just as well, if not better. That being said for Overwatch players who play the game on console, you’ll be getting improved aiming options in the near future.

In a post on the Battle.net forums, Overwatch’s lead engineer Tim Ford wrote, “We hear you loud and clear. We’re going to add two options in an upcoming patch. First, we’ll add a slider for aim smoothing. It will default to the current smoothing/acceleration in the game today (full smoothing, low acceleration). As you drag it towards zero, you’ll get less smoothing (higher acceleration). At zero, smoothing is disabled (instant acceleration).”

He also adds, “We’re also adding a new aim technique to compliment Dual Zone and Exponential Ramp. The new technique is called Linear Ramp. If you use this technique along with disabled aim smoothing, you will rotate commensurate to the angle you deflect the aim stick multiplied by your sensitivity.”

No word on when the patch will be released but console gamers who felt that Overwatch’s aiming options could be better or more varied, then hopefully this patch will address some of your issues with the game.
