Tiny Object With Very Silly Name Could Be the Next Dwarf Planet

When we think of dwarf planets, the first thing that comes to mind is obviously the injustice of Pluto getting demoted to one. This LEGO Mickey Mouse Mecha Is Ready to Pulverize Pete

Mickey Mouse has his own club, lots of movies, and a slew of cartoons to his name. He also has a hater in the form of a cat named Pete. If ol’ MIC-KEY MO-US-E ever gets tired of Pete’s shit and builds a mech to take him down, this is just the ticket.

Baron Julius von Brunk’s awesome Mecha Mouse has a flip-open compartment that is designed as a cockpit for the official Mickey minifig to fit inside of. Those big mouse ears are radar dishes, and his white-gloved fingers can even hold weapons.

If you want to see it turned into a set you can actually buy, the design is on the LEGO Ideas site right now and needs your vote. The cool part is that there is a licensing deal between LEGO and Disney already, so if this thing racks up 10,000 votes it might actually get made.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 May Arrive Next Week With 5,000mAh Battery In Tow

Xiaomi is reportedly going to launch a new handset in the near future. The unique selling point of this handset just might be its massive battery. The Mi Max 2 is reportedly going to feature a 5,000mAh battery. It’s going to be a mid-range device so with those kinds of specifications, a battery of this size should be able to provide decent life.

Rumor has it that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is going to feature a 6.4 inch Full HD display with a Snapdragon 626 processor from Qualcomm under the hood.

Additional features are expected to include a 5 megapixel front camera and Android 7.1 Nougat. The handset is obviously going to have Xiaomi’s own MIUI user interface on top to differentiate the software from other Android-powered devices.

Xiaomi is actually expected to launch two different models of the Mi Max 2. Apparently, there’s going to be a more powerful one as well which will feature a Snapdragon 660 processor.

The company itself hasn’t confirmed anything about these devices as yet and it may not do so until the time comes. As far as the announcement is concerned, Xiaomi is reportedly going to announce the Mi Max 2 on April 19th. Once again, this hasn’t been confirmed by the company itself as this point in time.

Huawei Sells 5 Million Mate 9 Units In Four Months

Huawei recently shares some numbers which revealed that the P9 and P9 Plus have performed very well in the market. It said last month that it had sold a combined 12 million units of the two smartphones in less than a year since they were launched. Huawei has now revealed that sales of the Huawei Mate 9 have now crossed 5 million units in merely four months since its release.

Huawei shared today that it has sold 5 million units of the Huawei Mate 9 in just four months after its launch. This is a 36 percent increase when compared to the number of units that its predecessor the Huawei Mate 8 sold in the same period of time after its launch.

These numbers were revealed by the company during an event for its Consumer Business Group and were later posted on the company’s Weibo account. For those who are unaware, Weibo is basically China’s version of Twitter.

Huawei has a new flagship smartphone on the market – it’s called the P10 – and officials expect that it’s going to sell more than 10 million units this year.

If that ends up happening, perhaps Huawei will be able to cross the target of 140 million units that it had actually set for last year.

Project Scorpio Reveal Confirmed For E3 2017

Microsoft confirmed last year that it’s working on a new Xbox console codenamed Project Scorpio. The company hasn’t confirmed much about the console at this point in time but more information about its internal specifications was confirmed recently. It hadn’t announced previously when the Project Scorpio Xbox would properly be unveiled and it has ended that confusion today.

Many had previously expected that Microsoft is going to conduct a separate ahead prior to the E3 2017 gaming convention to finally tell us what Project Scorpio is really going to be called and what its designed is going to be. However, that’s not going to be the case.

The head of Xbox at Microsoft Phil Spencer today confirmed in a blog post that the company is going to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences that it enables due to its superior performance at the E3 2017 gaming convention this June.

Microsoft recently revealed some more information about Project Scorpio’s internal specifications by providing an exclusive to a gaming news outlet that got to see the new console in action. Microsoft hasn’t exactly shown off what the new console is going to look like and it’s finally going to do that at the E3 2017 convention.

Microsoft’s E3 2017 press conference is going to take place on June 11th at 2 PM PT. Microsoft is likely going to confirm the name, the design, and most likely the price of the most powerful Xbox it has ever built at E3 2017.

Instagram Stories Now Has More Daily Users Than Snapchat

Instagram has been copying some of Snapchat’s core features and the strategy appears to be paying off. The impact was immediate. Snapchat’s growth slowed down 82 percent after Instagram Stories was launched, which as the name suggests, is a clone of Snapchat Stories. Facebook-owned Instagram today revealed that its stories feature has more than 200 million daily users which is more than what Snapchat as if you compare the figure with the one Snapchat last provided.

Snapchat revealed these numbers a couple of months back in filings related to its IPO. In the last quarter of 2014, it averaged a daily user count of 158 million, which only accounted for a 3.2 percent growth rate.

On the other hand, Instagram’s stories feature alone now has more daily active users than all of Snapchat. The latest figure stands at 200 million people across the globe, which is quite an achievement.

Instagram has also launched new sticker tools which will enable users to turn their selfies into stickers so that they can quickly share their reaction or trade faces with someone or something in their story. If this sounds familiar, it’s basically a clone of Snapchat’s 3D stickers that the service launched about a year back.

Geostickers in four new cities have been added as well. Those who live in or are traveling to London, Madrid, Tokyo or Chicago will now start seeing geostickers for those cities over the coming days. All of them have been designed by local community members.
