While some states are still offering incentives for electric vehicle buyers, California will soon become the biggest state to start charging fees for EV ownership. California is estimated to account for about half of the country’s EV sales, so the st…
Last year WhatsApp introduced rich formatting for messages which meant that users could now send messages in bold, italics, or strikeout. However to send these messages, you’d need to memorize the code for each of the formatting. This isn’t really that hard to do, but we guess for those who didn’t know about the feature in the first place would never figure it out.
The good news is that it looks like WhatsApp wants to fix that problem because in the latest beta for Android, WhatsApp appears to have added some shortcuts for users to format their text. All users have to do is highlight the word they want in the text box and in addition to the usual options of copying, cutting, or pasting, there will be an option to format text.
As you can see in the screenshots above, all users have to do is highlight the text they want and select the formatting option and they’ll be good to do. However given that sometimes highlighting text on smartphones, especially if you have big or fat fingers, can be rather finicky, we’re not sure if this will necessarily be faster than typing out the code itself.
Note that the codes will still continue to work, so this is really just another option for users to consider. It is currently available in the latest beta for the app so if you’re not running the beta, you’ll have to wait for the main release.

Back in December last year, we heard the rumors that HTC had a handset in the works called the HTC One X10 that was supposed to be announced in January 2017. Obviously that did not pan out but it seems that the handset is alive and well as we saw photos of the handset leaked back in February.
Now according to a recent tweet by famed leakster Evan Blass, an alleged poster of the HTC One X10 has been leaked. The poster doesn’t really give too much away although it does make a bold claim of featuring a larger battery, which we can only assume is being compared against its predecessor the HTC One X9 from 2015.
The poster also shows off the design of the phone which is actually in line with what we saw from the earlier leak. This includes a fingerprint sensor that has been placed below the rear-facing camera and flash. Other than that it’s hard to tell what the front of the phone looks like.
As for specs, we have been hearing rumors of a 5.5-inch Full HD display and could be powered by MediaTek’s Helio P10 processor. It is also rumored to come with 3GB of RAM, a 16MP rear-facing camera with OIS, will come with 32GB of onboard storage. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but with these leaks it shouldn’t be too long until the official details are revealed.

It’s safe to say that messenger platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are some of the most popular messenger apps these days, but if you’re more of a Viber user, or maybe if you use Viber for chatting with specific people, then you might be interested to learn that the app has recently received an update that makes it easier to watch YouTube videos.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the update to Viber adds inline YouTube playback support. What this means is that if you were to send a YouTube link to someone you’re chatting with or vice versa, it will show up with a small thumbnail preview and a button that users can press to play the video.
Pressing the play button will see the video launch and users can then choose to expand it to full screen, pause, or move it around. This is versus older versions of Viber where clicking the link would open it up inside a browser, so this should help shave a couple of seconds off that. Interestingly enough this feature actually puts it ahead of apps like WhatsApp which still does not have inline YouTube support.
However with everyone pretty much copying each other’s features these days, we wouldn’t be surprised if that feature were to eventually find its way to WhatsApp as well. In addition to inline YouTube playback, the update also adds online status and a last seen timestamp for your contacts.

Last year with Sony launching the PS4 Pro, many had expected Microsoft to answer with an upgraded console of their own. Microsoft did announce such a console in the form of Project Scorpio, but the catch was that it would only be released in 2017, which meant that Microsoft was essentially letting Sony have a huge headstart.
However it turns out that Microsoft almost did release an upgraded console back in 2016. Speaking to Gamasutra, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed that the company had originally planned to release an Xbox console with upgraded hardware for 2016, followed by another console in 2017, but ultimately decided against it.
According to Spencer, “So we designed a console for 2016, and a console for 2017. We were kind of working on both plans simultaneously. And at some point, we got to — let’s just call it greenlight.” However it seems that they later changed their minds. “For what we would do in 2016, and we sat around a table not too dissimilar from this and said, I think we need to do more than what the silicon is that’s available in 2016 at a price point that a console customer would want to pay. So that’s when we stopped that effort.”
Note that Microsoft did launch a new console in 2016 in the form of the Xbox One S, although we’re not sure if one could really call it that much of an upgrade. In any case Microsoft’s Project Scorpio is due for a release later this year, with some analysts predicting it could help Microsoft pull ahead of PS4 sales in the US.

Fallout 4 was launched in 2015 which is about 7 years after its predecessor, Fallout 3, which meant that gamers were waiting for quite a long time for it. Turns out it was well worth the wait, or at least that’s what the reviews are saying so far. While we’re not sure how long we’d have to wait for Fallout 5, there is Fallout 4 VR to look forward to.
Back in 2016, Bethesda confirmed that a VR version of Fallout 4 was in the works and would be shown off at E3 2017 this year, and it seems that it will be a title we can highly-anticipate. This is according to a report from MCV who quotes AMD’s corporate vice president Roy Taylor who called the title “groundbreaking” and said that it would be an industry changer.
Speaking at the VR World Congress, Taylor was quoted as saying, “It will change the way we think about VR. It will be an industry changer.” He also went on to liken the game as the “Mario” and “Sonic the Hedgehog” of the VR industry. Now we have seen several VR titles released in the past and they are all unique in their own way, but the praises heaped onto Fallout 4 VR has us curious as to how different the game could be from the rest.
Either way we guess we will find out for ourselves at E3 2017, so be sure to check back with us this coming June if you’d like the details.

Back in 2015 Square Enix launched Lara Croft Go which is a puzzle game based on Tomb Raider. The game was initially launched on mobile devices, but ultimately found its way onto consoles where it was launched with the “Mirror of Spirits” DLC. The DLC then found its way onto the PC version of the game, and now it looks like it has finally arrived on mobile.
If you are still playing the game and would like to get your hands on the DLC for your smartphone/tablet, you’ll be pleased to learn that the Mirror of Spirits DLC is available on iOS devices. Yes we said iOS devices because last we checked, the DLC had yet to be released on Android but we expect that it will eventually find its way onto the platform, but for now iOS users will get to try it out first.
We’re not sure what’s with the delay so for now Android users will have to remain patient. That being said, the DLC will be pretty much the same as the version released for other devices, so don’t expect anything too different. It will introduce 25 new puzzles for players to solve and will also introduce new mechanics to the game.
The update for iOS will also bring about a Lara Croft Go sticker pack for iMessages. Head on over to the iTunes App Store if you’d like to get your hands on the update.

Rhubarb is a star in springtime desserts, but you wouldn’t guess it from this spring vegetable’s natural flavor. That’s right, it’s technically a veggie. Rhubarb stalks, which are the part we eat, are naturally bitter. They cook down into something we can’t wait to take a bite of when paired with a hearty amount of sweetener. That’s why most recipes for rhubarb cook it into tender surrender, simmered down into a compote or baked into a pie.
Before you embark upon your rhubarb adventure, be warned: the leaves of the plant are poisonous. This is why when you pick up rhubarb at the farmer’s market you’ll only ever get the stalks. But keep this caution in mind if you should stumble upon the plant itself ― don’t mess with the leaves.
Now, back to the good stuff. Here are the recipes you need to make all your rhubarb dreams come true:

Samantha Bee's Show Suggests 9 Ways Sean Spicer Could Quit (That Don't Involve Hitler)
Posted in: Today's Chili“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” has White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s back, should he feel the need to quit any time soon.
Following what can only be described as a nightmare week for President Donald Trump’s spokesman, the satirical late night show’s staff have helpfully suggested nine ways in which he could leave his role in “a blaze of glory.”
From pulling a “Mary Poppins” (in which Spicer would pull a giant umbrella from his suit to float away) to using “The Up” (where he would similarly attach 100 balloons to his podium to be whisked up into the sky), the fantastical methods are detailed in a new Medium post.
None of them, however, have anything to do with Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, who Spicer falsely claimed during a press briefing Tuesday had never used chemical weapons. Spicer later rolled back on his erroneous comments.
Check out the remainder of the ideas via the post on Medium here.
