Ana Navarro Blasts 'Racist, Lying' Donald Trump, But Defends His Stance On Syria

Republican strategist and CNN contributor Ana Navarro dubbed President Donald Trump a “racist, lying, misogynist pig” on Friday, before agreeing with his new position on Syria.

Appearing on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Navarro tossed out the insults whilst the panel dissected Trump’s authorization on Thursday of a U.S. military strike on a Syrian airfield in response to a chemical attack allegedly ordered by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime.

Navarro described the whole situation in Syria as “bewildering” but said Trump’s change of mind on how to deal with the country’s civil war was definitely not. “The man has had more positions than the Kama Sutra on just about every issue,” she said.

Navarro, who’s not been afraid to criticize Trump in the past, then moved to defend Trump ― albeit in a roundabout sort of way.

“When he was campaigning, I thought he was a racist, misogynist, lying pig. I still think he is a racist, misogynist, lying pig, but he’s also my commander-in-chief,” said Navarro. “For too long we have been looking the other way in the face of genocide.”

Prostitute Who Gave Google Exec Fatal Heroin Shot To Be Deported To Canada

A high-priced escort convicted of giving a Google executive a fatal injection of heroin aboard his California yacht is being deported to Canada.

Alix Tichelman, 30, admitted she gave 51-year-old father-of-five Forrest Hayes a shot of heroin that ended up killing him in 2013 as the two partied on his yacht — dubbed “Escape” — docked off Santa Cruz. A security camera filmed Hayes clutching his chest before he collapsed, and Tichelman failed to get help for him. She was filmed cooly stepping over Hayes’ body with a glass of wine in her hand before pulling down the blinds and walking off the yacht. His captain discovered Hayes’ body the following morning.

Tichelman pleaded guilty to felony involuntary manslaughter, destroying evidence and a number of drug and prostitution charges. She was sentenced in 2015 to six years in prison, but was released early for good behavior and because the judge counted her total time in police custody.

But as soon as she stepped out of prison, the Canadian citizen was taken into custody by waiting Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, CBS reported.

Now, she’s about to head north of the border. An immigration judge determined at a hearing Thursday that Tichelmen’s convictions were “grounds for removal” from the U.S., said a statement from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, reported CBS News.

Tichelman will be deported as soon as officials make final arrangements, according to ICE spokesman James Schwab.

Bill Maher Blasts GOP Hypocrisy Over Strike On Syria

Bill Maher said Friday was a day to celebrate for Republicans.

The “Real Time” host said they’d gotten their two favorite things, “a right-wing asshole on the Supreme Court and (President Donald) Trump finally blowing shit up.”

He was referring to the Senate’s confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and Thursday night’s U.S. military strike on a Syrian airfield in response to a chemical weapons attack allegedly ordered by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime.

Maher then pointed out the hypocrisy of the Syria situation, given how in 2013 some 98 House Republicans signed a letter arguing that then President Barack Obama needed congressional approval to take action following a similar chemical attack. Trump, however, did not seek congressional authorization for Thursday’s strike.

“Obama was president then and that would have involved ‘bombing while black,’” quipped Maher.

The U.S. Women's Hockey Team Had Boycotted For Fair Pay. Now They're World Champs

The U.S. women’s national hockey team became the world champions Friday at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Women’s World Championship in Plymouth, Michigan. U.S. forward Hilary Knight scored the winning goal in overtime, ending the game with a 3-2 lead over Canada.

The team’s stunning victory came less than two weeks after it won a more personal battle against USA Hockey, the sport’s national governing body, over fair pay for female players.

More than a year of private negotiations between the U.S. women’s national team and USA Hockey reached a boiling point in mid-May when the team threatened to boycott the women’s world championships if its requests for a “livable wage” and adequate financial support were not met.

The players had claimed that the national federation provided the women with only small monthly stipends over a six-month Olympic training period and did not pay players at all for the other 3½ years of each Olympic cycle. They also argued that the federation’s financial support for the men’s team ― including marketing, travel and developmental programs ― was significantly larger than for the women’s division.

For example, the women’s team argued that USA Hockey spent $3.5 million annually on its national team program for boys, yet the girls’ division received no “comparable support.”

USA Hockey initially disputed the women’s claims and began searching for athletes to replace members of the women’s team. But, nearly two weeks after the women had launched their boycott, USA Hockey and the women’s team reached a deal ― one day before the championships began.

The team has now won eight of the last 10 world championship medals, according to IIHF’s website.

“Our sport is the big winner today,” Meghan Duggan, the team’s captain, said after they settled their negotiations. “We stood up for what we thought was right, and USA Hockey’s leadership listened. In the end, both sides came together.”

Hockey USA and the women’s team agreed to keep the financial terms of their deal private, but it will cover a five-year period that includes the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Under the agreement, USA Hockey will form a new advisory group made up of current and former players that will assist the federation in efforts to advance both girls’ and women’s hockey.

Knight, the U.S. forward who scored Friday’s winning goal, was vocal about the women’s fight for fair pay throughout the battle.

“The thing that gives us the most pride, I have to say, is knowing that we set a foundation for the younger generations to build upon,” Knight told the Edge of Sports podcast Tuesday. “That’s something I’ll be most proud of when I can take a second to really appreciate that, years down the line. We did it.”

Syria Protest Turns Violent in Florida As Hundreds Hit The Streets In U.S. Cities

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

A Florida protest turned violent Friday as activists gathered in Jacksonville, New York, Philadelphia, Newark, Chicago, Detroit, Boston and other cities to demonstrate against the U.S. attack on Syria.

Six people among as many as 200 protesters were arrested in Jacksonville when different factions — those supporting Donald Trump and demonstrators opposed to the military action — turned “riotous” and attacked one another and police in downtown Hemming Plaza, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, First Coast News reported.

There was also some tension in Detroit, where more than 30 people protesting the missile strike turned out at Grand Martius Park downtown. At one point they were heckled by some Detroit Tigers fans leaving a game. “Bomb Syria,” shouted one fan, reported MIchigan Live.com, though most fans merely watched.

Unified New York protesters gathered in midtown at Trump Tower and at Union Square, chanting and holding signs saying “Bombing Syria doesn’t protect people, it kills them,” and “Yes to the refugees, no to the U.S. wars that create them,” NBC reported. “U.S. intervention has never brought about peace and democracy in other countries,” protester Nina Macapinlac told The New York Daily News. “This farce that by bombing Syria you’re going to be able to bring about democracy is not true.”

Close to 100 protesters gathered in Chicago at the Trump Tower there before marching along Michigan Avenue. “Hey, Hey, Donald J: How many kids have you killed today?” chanted demonstrators. “The tragedy of the children is heart-rending,” protester Vicki Cervantes told WBBM Newsradio. “But I think the response of escalation — of more bombing, of more war — only means more dead children.”

Close to 40 protesters gathered in downtown Philadelphia, with some holding signs reading “Bombs are not the answer.” Members of a sizeable Syrian Christian community in Allentown, largely supportive of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, also planned a rally, reported CBS News. Organizer Dr. Khaldoun Makhoul, a Syrian who moved to the U.S. 23 years ago, believes the deadly chemical attack that killed 87 people earlier this week, prompting the U.S. missile attack, occurred when a Syrian rocket struck a chemical weapons arsenal belonging to rebels.

Syria has reported that seven people were killed and nine injured after the U.S. launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles Thursday in the wake of the deadly chemical weapons attack in the first direct American assault on the Syrian government

U.S United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley called the move a “very measured step” and said the country is prepared to “do more” — but hopes that “will not be necessary.”

More protests against the missile attack are planned over the weekend.

Russia Banned Pictures Of Vladimir Putin In Drag, So 'The Late Show' Made This

This week, the Russian government made it illegal to distribute or share any images similar to that meme of President Vladimir Putin wearing heavy makeup, deeming it “extremist” material.

Any person in Russia who violates that ban could face a fine or time in prison.

Naturally, Stephen Colbert of “The Late Show” saw the ban as a challenge and created the wonderful video above.

“Because this is America, for now, and we can do anything we want,” Colbert said in the video posted Friday, “‘The Late Show’ has put together our own artistic interpretation of Vladimir Putin.”

The TV host even offered the Russian president a new title: “Gay Icon.”

Enjoy!
