In other words, the C4008VU8 would be the perfect monitor for creative projects or productivity work assignments. The asking price of $899.99 for the AOC C4008VU8 might seem to be a wee bit on the steep side, but if you were to take the kind of benefits, both short term and long term, into consideration, then you would know that there is more to it than meets the eye.

Mama Told Me There'd Be Days Like This: Schumer Cooks Up Trump 100-Day Playlist
Posted in: Today's ChiliIf you can’t beat him, just sing along.
That could be the philosophy of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — for now. The Senate minority leader — who recently told The Huffpost that he’s still open to working with a president who lacks competence — has come up with a Spotify playlist to mark the early reign of Donald Trump. It’s a little bit light-hearted tongue-in-cheek (check out Trump in the “Saturday Night Live” parody video of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” above), a little bit angry, and lots of frustrated.
“Music has meant so much these #Trump100days,” Schumer tweeted Saturday, taking a tune-ful break from relentless Twitter attacks on Trump policies. “Shirelles, Springsteen & more, here’s my Spotify #100days playlist.”
Unfortunately, there’s not a song for each day. But Schumer has come up with 32 of them, with several titles and lyrics lamenting bitter realizations, disappointing people and lies, like B.B. King’s “Fool Me Once,” and The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
Some of the picks zing particular Trump issues — or personality traits, like “He’s Mista Know-It-All,” by Stevie Wonder, “I Want It Now,” sung by Esperanza Spalding, and Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend,” an apparent dig at the president’s several weekends off playing golf at Mar-a-Lago.
A common theme involves “alternative facts,” such as “Lyin’ Eyes,” by The Eagles, “Lies,” by the Thomson Twins (”Lies, lies, lies, yeah”), and “Beautiful Liar,” by Beyonce and Shakira.
But there are also a couple about optimism for a better future like Bruce Springsteen’s “Land of Hope and Dreams” (”Big wheels rolling through fields where sunlight streams; meet me in a land of hope and dreams.”)
And Bob Marley croons in “Three Little Birds”on Schumer’s playlist: “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause everything gonna be all right.”

Massive Tinder Photo Grab Is Latest Scary Warning To Be Careful What You Post
Posted in: Today's ChiliImages of Tinder users posting their sexiest selfies were swept up in a massive grab of some 40,000 photos from the dating app.
The photos were sucked up days ago by a dataset collector who plans to use the selfies in artificial intelligence training, reports TechCrunch. They were taken from Tinder users from the San Francisco Bay Area and include 20,000 photos of men and 20,000 of women.
Tinder said in a statement that the photo sweeper “violated the terms of our service” and “we are taking appropriate action and investigating further.” Tinder did not detail what it’s doing.
Though the photo scrape was confined — this time — to northern California, it serves as a reminder of the vulnerability of app posts, even those that may be embarrassingly intimate.
Dataset creator Stuart Colianni — who describes himself as a “data science enthusiast” on his Kaggle page — has uploaded his “Tinder Face Scraper” method on GitHub so now anyone who can follow it can do exactly what he did. He touts it as a “simple script that exploits the Tinder API [app programming interface] to allow a person to build a facial dataset.” Other Tinder scrapers on GitHub have collected other data, such as the name, birthday, bio, number of photos and last sign in of users.
Colianni’s collected photos were accessible for a time on Kaggle and had already been downloaded some 300 times as of Thursday, TechCrunch reports. Several of the photos highlighted body parts more than faces, and many were sexually suggestive.
Colianni noted on GitHub that he removed the photos from Kaggle following a request to do so from Tinder. Kaggle, a machine-learning platform, was recently acquired by Google.
Colianni said he plans to use the photos to help train artificial neural networks to recognize male and female faces. He explained on GitHub that he turned to Tinder to create his dataset because it “gives you access to thousands of people within miles of you. Why not leverage Tinder to build a better, larger facial dataset?” he asked.
It’s unclear if Tinder users have strong legal protections from such a grab. The app’s terms of use grant Tinder the “worldwide, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free right and license to host, store, use, copy, display, reproduce, adapt, edit, publish, modify and distribute” their posted content. Colianni, however, is not part of Tinder.
Tinder’s statement seems a bit equivocal about privacy. It says the company takes the “security and privacy of our users seriously and have tools and systems in place to uphold the integrity of our platform,” including protections against photo scrapes. But it also adds: “The images that we serve are profile images, which are available to anyone swiping on the app.”
One final caveat for robotic neural networks out there: the dataset of Tinder faces could include an animal or two. The last male northern white rhino on earth joined Tinder earlier this month in his hunt for a mate.
Just swipe right.

A major airline is under fire this weekend and, no, it’s not United.
A Delta Airlines pilot sparked controversy on Saturday after a video appeared to show him hitting a passenger.
In the footage, posted on TMZ, a skirmish breaks out amongst two passengers exiting a flight at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The pilot steps into intervene and, in doing so, appears to abruptly smack one woman.
The fight quickly breaks up and the passenger are escorted away by security. According to the New York Times, the incident took place on April 21st:
Delta said that pilot was initially suspended, but was cleared after an investigation. They said in a statement:
“We became aware of this incident and a video last week and immediately removed the pilot from duty while we completed a thorough investigation. Local law enforcement was called to respond at the time of the incident. The pilot has since been returned to work as our investigation found that his actions de-escalated an altercation between passengers on the Jetway floor during deplaning.
The airline also made headlines earlier this week after a passenger claimed he was kicked off a flight for using the bathroom.
The controversies come on the heels of the ongoing criticism facing United Airlines after a passenger was dragged off a flight. The airline initially defended the incident but, after widespread scrutiny from consumers and Congress, later apologized.
United settled with the passenger and agreed to change some of its policies. Its CEO, Oscar Munoz, will testify in a related House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee hearing this week.
The company also sparked ire in March after three girls were barred from a flight because they were wearing leggings.

(Reuters) – Tornadoes killed five people east of Dallas in Texas, local media reported on Saturday, as heavy rains and damaging winds struck a broad swath of the U.S. heartland.
At least three tornadoes were confirmed by the National Weather Service in nearby Canton, with about 50 people being treated for related injuries at area hospitals, news outlets reported, citing hospital officials.
Media, including CBS News’ local affiliate in Dallas-Ft. Worth, and WFAA-TV, which cited the chief of Canton’s fire department, reported late Saturday that five people were confirmed dead as tornadoes struck Canton, a city about 60 miles (95 kilometers) east of Dallas.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the Texas Task Force 2 had been dispatched to the area to aid in relief efforts.
Pictures and video posted online showed cars flipped over and two story houses in the area all but destroyed.
Widespread damage was also reported in nearby Eustace, Fruitvale and Caney City.
Downpours that began on Friday were so intense the ground was unable to absorb the rainfall, making flooding highly likely, said meteorologist Kenneth James of the Weather Prediction Center, part of the National Weather Service.
More than six inches of rain fell in some areas, flooding roads and prompting evacuations, meteorologists said.
The governors of Missouri and Oklahoma on Saturday declared states of emergency due to flooding.
“The massive storm system has delivered widespread rain and high winds across much of the state since Friday, with damage to power lines and power poles as well as trees, roofs and structures,” said Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin.
In the St. Louis area, severe thunderstorms are forecast through Sunday. Some people were told to evacuate and 33 rescues were conducted, mostly in the state’s central and southwestern regions, Missouri Governor Eric Greitens said.
Parts of Indiana have received up to 8 inches (20 cm) of rain while areas in Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas have been drenched with up to 4 inches (10 cm), James said.
Heavy rainfall in the Midwest is expected to continue into Sunday, along with wind gusts of 60 miles (95 km) per hour.
On Friday night, a tornado in Lawrence, Illinois, damaged outbuildings and snapped trees, James said.
Airline delays nationwide affected more than 3,700 flights, according to tracking service FlightAware.
A storm has dumped snow in Colorado and Wyoming, with the greatest accumulation in Lander, Wyoming, which had 33 inches (84 cm), James said.

Reagan Adviser Slams Trump Rally Speech As 'Most Divisive Ever' From A President
Posted in: Today's ChiliA former adviser to three Republican presidents called the speech Donald Trump gave before a crowd of supporters Saturday in Pennsylvania the “most divisive” he has ever heard from a president.
David Gergen, a CNN political analyst who advised Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan — and President Bill Clinton — said he found the speech “deeply disturbing” with little change from Trump’s bombastic, divisive campaign messages.
Trump slammed the press — again — as “fake news,” vowed to topple Obamacare and promised to build the border wall between Mexico and the U.S. “Don’t worry, we’re going to have the wall,” Trump said at the rally marking his 100th day as president. “Rest assured. Go home, go to sleep.”
Gergen said on a CNN panel following Trump’s speech that bringing “your campaign speech into the presidency is something presidents rarely do.” He added: “I think this is the most divisive speech I’ve ever heard from a sitting American president.”
He “played to his base,” Gergen added. “He treated his other listeners — the rest of the people who have been disturbed about him or oppose him — he treated them basically as, ‘I don’t care, I don’t give a damn what you think because you’re, frankly, the enemy.”
Gergen added: “I thought it was a deeply disturbing speech.”

On Saturday, Samantha Bee closed out her “Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner” special “Man In The High Castle” style, alternate reality film projector and all.
“What a wonderful alternate 2017 it’s been!” says Bee from another world where Hillary Clinton is now president.
“The Patriots lost the Super Bowl, ‘Lemonade’ won Album Of The Year and every print of ‘La La Land’ spontaneously combusted.”
Unfortunately, Paul Ryan and the Republicans have already started impeachment proceedings, and Clinton’s presidency has inspired the first-ever protest seen from space: the Men’s March.
Sigh. Still, we have to assume a lot of the attendees at her star-studded event were thinking the same thing:
