Blizzard had a formative role shaping the strategy and MOBA titles that dominate eSports today. But the studio didn’t really dive into competitive events until it started devoting floorspace to its own tournaments at BlizzCon 2009. Now the gaming tit…
When it comes to gaming accessories such as gaming controllers or fight sticks, you might think of Mad Catz as being one the companies that makes such devices. Unfortunately it seems that we might no longer be able to expect any Mad Catz products in the future as the company has officially filed for voluntary bankruptcy.
According to the press release, “The Board of Directors has been advised by the Company’s financial advisor and management that no viable strategic alternative in respect of a sale of the Company or other corporate sale transaction is being made available to the Company by any third party. In addition, the Board of Directors has also been advised that the Company’s lenders will not increase the amount of its credit facilities beyond the current levels.”
Apparently the company has been in trouble for the past few years with declining revenue as evidenced by the company’s financial reports, and in 2016 Mad Catz laid off about 40% of their workforce, which is kind of sad for a company that has been in operation since 1989, but we guess these things happen.
According to a source who spoke to Kotaku, “Anyone paying attention to the public financials of the company could see that the company was only heading one way. They have been bleeding cash and saddled with debt. The Tekken sticks you refer to were simply a re-skin of existing product, in fact, other than a new Tritton headset, all product announced from the company over the last year has been a simple reworking of pre-existing hardware.”

Back in 2016 one of the more underrated features of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro was the fact that it came with a “True Tone” display. Now it seems that if the predictions of investment bank Barclays were to come true, Apple’s 2017 iPhones are expected to come with the display technology.
For those who are unfamiliar with True Tone displays, these could in a way be thought of as a more advanced version of Night Shift, which basically makes displays warmer and eliminates blue light which is said to mess with a person’s sleep cycle. With True Tone, it goes beyond that as thanks to the use of sensors, it will be able to detect the light temperature around it and adjust the display’s color and intensity to match its surroundings.
This means that in theory, the display should always be giving users the best look possible regardless of where they are. However like we said, so far the technology has only made its way into the 9.7-inch iPad Pro as even the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro does not have the feature, so Apple’s iPhones could beat it to the punch.
The report from the bank claims that all of Apple’s 2017 models will sport the new feature, as opposed to being limited to a particular model, like the rumored iPhone Edition. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but it is a piece of tech that we would not mind seeing in the iPhone.

Have you ever wished that you could play a variant of Final Fantasy XV on your mobile phone? If you did, then you might recall that Square Enix had previously announced that the game would be getting a mobile MMORPG equivalent that would be developed by Machine Zone, the developer known for “Mobile Strike”.
Square Enix did not mention when the game would be released, but it turns out that it might be soon as Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire has been soft launched in New Zealand via the iTunes App Store. Given that apps are typically soft launched in the country (along with Australia), we guess this isn’t surprising and should be a sign that the official release could be coming soon.
According to the game’s description on the app store, it reads, “Be the hero of your own Final Fantasy XV adventure in the brand new mobile strategy game Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire! Build your own kingdom, discover powerful magic, and dominate the realm alongside all of your friends!”
Unfortunately it seems that if you want to get your hands on it, you’ll need an iTunes App Store or Google Play account in New Zealand, but like we said the soft launch should be an indication that it should be gearing up for a release worldwide soon, so you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled in your local app store.

Basic video editing capabilities like trim/cut are natively available on iPhone with the help of Photos app. You could utilize this ability on-the-go where you only need to cut or trim a video without necessarily having an active Internet connection (because it is built right into your phone, you do not need to download anything).
Photos app is not just a photo viewer but also lets you cut or trim the videos you have on your library. However, if you need some more functionalities to edit the videos, 3rd Party apps would help you.
In this article, we will let you know how to cut/crop videos on iPhone using the Photos app and also how that can be done utilizing an app from the App Store.
How To Cut/Crop Videos On iPhone Using Photos
- Launch the Photos app.
- Tap on the video which you want to operate on.
- Head on the tweak/edit option at the bottom of the screen as highlighted in the image above.
- Now, you will observe two pointers to adjust the length of the video. You can set the range to trim the video and finally tap on “Done“.
- You will be prompted to trim the original file or you could save it as a new clip.
How To Cut/Crop Videos On iPhone Using Video Editor App
In case you are looking for a way to cut/crop videos with some more basic functionalities like adding transitions or the ability to resize the video, then Video Editor by Kite Games Studio could be your perfect companion.
Steps To Cut/Crop Videos on iPhone Using Video Editor by Kite Games Studio
- Install Video Editor from the app store.
- Launch the applications. At first, you will be greeted with the screen to import videos from Library. You would be also asked to let the app access your Photos.
- After you have allowed the app to access your photos, you can select any one of your videos to import and click on “Done” present at the top-right corner of the screen.
- This one’s easy. You do not need to look for an icon to trim the video but all of its options are labeled in the app itself. If you want to trim, you can click on Trim button to get started or if you want to resize the video, proceed tapping the resize option.
Wrapping Up
Now, you can be sure that we do not need any of the 3rd party apps from the App Store to simply crop or trim the videos on iPhone.
Although, if you are in the requirement for more functionalities than what iOS provides natively, you will have to utilize an app like the Video editor to be able to do more things.
Is there a better alternative to “Video Editor” app? Would you utilize the default editing capabilities on iPhone or install an app to do so?

Every year during April Fool’s, companies come up with all kinds of weird and funny ways to troll and trick their customers, and Google has been doing a pretty good job at pranking their users over the years. This year’s April Fool’s is no different, and in a way this year’s “prank” is actually a rather fun one.
If you were to head on over to Google Maps on your desktop, or launch the app on your smartphone, you’ll notice a button at the bottom left corner of your screen that when you press will launch a game of Ms. Pac-Man. The best part of this is that instead of using pre-generated maps, Google Maps will actually use the roads around your area (or any area that you choose) to play the game on.
All users have to do is use the arrow keys on their keyboard to move their character around, or if you’re playing on a smartphone, just swipe your way around the map. It’s a fun game and if you’re looking to get some laughs or just a couple of minutes of entertainment, the game should be more than up for the task.
In fact you could even challenge yourself by changing locations and maps if you want to make things interesting. This isn’t the first time that Google has turned to Pac-Man for its “jokes”, and who knows, maybe this could prove to be popular enough where Google could keep it around for the future!

When it comes to camera lenses, for the most part things haven’t really changed very dramatically over the years. Sure there have been a ton of improvements and changes, but for the most part they’re still the same. However Canon could be looking to shake things up as they revealed that they are working on new lens technology.
According to the folks at Focus Numerique (via Canon Rumors) who recently interviewed Canon executives at the Utsunomiya L lens factory in Japan, they were told that the company was working on new lens technology that would allow photographers to take a new type of photo, or whatever that means.
The original report was published in French, but according to the translation it reads, “Without being permitted to tell you more, we are developing a new technology that will bring real added value and will allow to take a new type of photo.” We’re not sure if maybe some details were lost in translation, but if it’s true it will be interesting to see what Canon might have come up with and what this means for photography.
No word on when this new lens technology is expected to debut, so we guess photographers will have no choice but to wait and see what the company might have up their sleeves, but what kind of changes would you as a photographer like to see made to lenses in the future?

If you as a parent saw your child download a song, movie, book, TV show, or game illegally, what would you do? For the most part we’re pretty sure that online piracy is a concept that many are familiar with, but since it “saves” us a ton of money, it has sort of become an accepted thing to do, despite it being very obviously illegal.
However over in Germany, it seems that a recent precedent-setting decision could encourage parents to rat on their kids in the future, unless they don’t mind being on the hook for the illegal download as well. The country’s Federal Court of Justice recently charged the parents of three children with a €3,500 fine after it was discovered that someone in their home had illegally downloaded Rihanna’s 2010 “Loud” album.
The father of the children said that under Germany’s Basic Law, it protected family members from testifying against each other, which he exercised as he refused to reveal who it was that downloaded the album. While the courts did not force him to reveal the perpetrator, they decided to hold him liable in their stead.
Basically what this means is that if you refuse to say who does it, then whoever’s name is on the internet service’s bill will be the one who will be held responsible for the fine. Like we said, it is precedent-setting as we can only imagine that this case will be referred to in future such cases.

NASA wants to send people to Mars, but it has some issues to overcome first. One of those issues is how it will feed its astronauts. Researchers have been studying the growth of plants in microgravity environments, among other things, and now a new team has announced the successful growth of a potato plant in Mars-like conditions. Alec Baldwin: 'Just To Clean Up The Mess' After Trump Will Be 'Almost Impossible'
Posted in: Today's ChiliAlec Baldwin’s Twitter presence is infamous enough to both warrant a “South Park” parody and a loving moniker from his longtime friend Tina Fey. In an interview Fey did with David Letterman for The Hollywood Reporter after the election, she talked about Donald Trump’s mistake in feuding with Baldwin on the social media platform.
“You think you’re good at being a jerk on Twitter? You will now face the grandmaster of being a jerk on Twitter,” joked Fey.
The Huffington Post’s Bill Bradley caught up with Baldwin before the ACLU’s March 31 “Stand For Rights” benefit to ask what how the actor would approach Twitter if he somehow became president.
“I don’t think I would do Twitter if I was the president of the United States,” Baldwin first said, before explaining that he sees value in having a social media team post speeches and other formal messages.
Baldwin, who’s keeping busy impersonating the 45th president on “Saturday Night Live,” then launched into a Trump impression, saying he wouldn’t send tweets like, “The failing New York Times is terrible.”
“I think that’s crazy,” he said.
Baldwin went on to further express concern over the current administration:
But I think that the president, especially now, there’s so many problems we’re going to have to undo. I mean, when Trump is gone, to undo [this] will be like one of these flood zones. It will be like when a tsunami hits a town. Just to clean up the mess these people have made is going to be almost impossible.
