DJI’s drones tend to be pricey so the company has made a new one that aims to capture the mid-range segment of the drone market. The Spark is DJI’s smallest and cheapest drone yet. The company describes it as an “easy-to-use, fun-to-fly” mini camera drone which can take off from the palm of the user’s hand to capture moments that matter.
Spark is also DJI’s first drone that can be controlled using hand gestures alone. This means that it will be very easy to control even for those who have not flown a drone before.
The Spark automatically enters Gesture Mode when it takes off from the hand. It has advanced gesture controls like PalmControl which enable the user to send it up, take a selfie, and call it back all by using hand gestures.
The drone can fit easily in almost any bag and it weighs just 10.6 ounces, that’s less than a soda can. It can also be controlled with a remote controller, a mobile device or just hand gestures. DJI is going to sell the mini-drone in Alpine White, Sky Blue, Meadow Green, Lava Red, and Sunrise Yellow colors.
It has a QuickShot Intelligent Flight Mode that makes it easy to capture professional videos. Users can select a QuickShot and the Spark will then fly along a preset flight path while recording a short video and tracking a subject along the way.
DJI Spark can reach speeds of up to 31 miles per hour and touts a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor that can capture 12 megapixel photos and shoot stabilized HD video in 1080p resolution. The battery has a maximum flight time of 16 minutes.
DJI is going to sell in the Spark for $499 in the United States, the package includes one drone, a battery, a USB charger, and three pairs of propellers. It’s available for pre-order now and will start shipping in mid-June.

Microsoft announced in February this year that it was going to launch a subscription service for the Xbox One. The service is called Xbox Game Pass and it will provide access to more than 100 games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 to those who decide to pay $9.99 per month for the service. Microsoft has now confirmed that Xbox Game Pass is going to be launched in June.
Xbox Game Pass is different from Sony’s PlayStation Now game streaming service. Subscribers will actually be able to download the titles that are offered as part of their monthly subscription. They will even be able to buy some of the titles at a discount by virtue of their subscription.
The service’s library includes some great titles initially, including the likes of Halo 5 and Gears of War 3. Microsoft promises that it will continue to expand the Xbox Game Pass library in the months to come.
“Each month, Xbox Game Pass will add a new set of games to the catalog so there is always something new to play across a diversity of experiences, genres, ratings, and more,” it promises.
There’s good news for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. They can get early access to Xbox Game Pass starting today. Microsoft is going to launch Xbox Game Pass for all Xbox owners in June.

Samsung is now busy selling the Galaxy S8. Its latest flagship smartphone is off to a very good start globally and it just might set new sales records for the company. However, Samsung is not one to rest on its laurels. A new report out of South Korea suggests that the company has already started working on the Galaxy S9. Next year’s flagship smartphone is reportedly codenamed “Star.”
It wouldn’t be surprising if Samsung has already started working on the Galaxy S9. Developing a flagship smartphone takes time and when you set high expectations with your products, you need to work extra to ensure that you meet those expectations.
Samsung has raised the bar pretty high with the Galaxy S8 and if history is any indication, the Galaxy S9 is going to be an incremental update, but it will have to have a certain wow factor if Samsung wants to sell millions of units of its expensive flagship smartphone next year as well.
The report also mentions that there’s a larger model of the Galaxy S9 in development as well that’s codenamed “Star 2.” Again, not surprising, we can expect Samsung to continue with the “+” model that it has launched with the Galaxy S8+ this year.
No further details are available right now as it’s too early to speculate about what the Galaxy S9 is going to be. We can be sure to hear more about it just a few months before its due early next year.

The next DLC for Battlefield 1 is called Name of the Tsar. The core addition that the downloadable content pack does to the game is the Russian Army. The DLC also brings four new maps as well as Russian soldiers, weapons, and vehicles. EA has also confirmed that Battlefield 1 multiplayer female soldiers are included in this DLC as well.
EA has confirmed that the Russian scout class is going to be represented by a female soldier hailing from the Women’s Battalion of Death. It has confirmed this while revealing no additional details about the Russian Army or the Scout Class. This is a long overdue addition as male soldiers are predominately featured in the series’ multiplayer modes.
The Russian Provisional Government formed the Women’s Battalion of Death in 1917. Female soldiers in these battalions were sent to the front lines to fight against Germany. It’s unclear how many women were a part of those battalions but estimates suggest that they numbered in the thousands.
The Name of the Tsar DLC for Battlefield 1 is going to be released this summer. A confirmed release date for the DLC has not yet been provided. EA is going to properly show off the DLC pack at its E3 2017 event next month.
