For the longest time ever, displays were typically seen as rigid sort of devices where they were pretty much fixed and were unmovable. For the most part this is true since trying to bend your TV, monitors, or phone will result in it cracking. However we’ve known that Samsung and LG have been working on displays that can flex, but Samsung is taking it one step further.
The company has recently announced (via Engadget) what could be the world’s first stretchable OLED display. Yes, instead of merely being able to bend or fold, this display can stretch (to a certain extent) which means that damaging it will be harder than traditional displays, since the stretchiness means slightly more give when getting knocked around.
The prototype that was unveiled by the company came in the form of a 9.1-inch display that can be bent, rolled, and survive dents of up to half an inch deep before reverting back to its final form. We’re not sure what such technology could be used for, but given that it sounds like it will be highly adaptable, it could be used for all kinds of things such as for cars, home appliances, computers, TV, phones, wearables, and so on.
Unfortunately the technology behind these displays is still relatively young, which means that it will be a while before we see it commercialized. In the meantime phones with flexible displays have yet to become mainstream, but rumor has it that Samsung is planning to launch such devices later this year.

We know that Blizzard has some pretty grand plans for Overwatch, their latest IP, in the eSports scene. So much so that Blizzard had previously created their own professional league aimed at pro gamers who want to get into the scene. However what about amateurs? Is Blizzard going to ignore that demographic?
For those who play Overwatch casually, you can rest assured that Blizzard isn’t ignoring you. In fact the company has recently announced a new minor league that is aimed at amateurs, or aspiring professionals. Dubbed Overwatch Contenders, this will allow gamers to prove themselves if they have what it takes to play with the pros.
According to the announcement, “While preparations for the Overwatch League are busily underway, we know that the future stars of the league are out there, training hard and looking to make their mark. That’s why we’re creating opportunities now for players across the competitive spectrum to prove themselves in glorious combat, from the solo-queue superstars to the established tournament veterans. Blizzard is excited to announce Overwatch Contenders—the development league for aspiring Overwatch League professionals, kicking off this summer in North America and Europe.”
There will of course be a prize pool to help sweeten this deal. For gamers who are interested, you can sign up for Season Zero via Blizzard’s website where it is expected to kick off on the 3rd of June.

Towards the end of 2016, Nokia filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Apple in which they claimed that Apple had infringed upon 32 patents that belonged to them. However it looks like whatever beef either company had with each other is gone because the dispute has come to an end with a new licensing agreement.
It should be noted that Nokia’s patent licensing agreement with Apple was previously said to be good until the end of 2016, so we guess it makes sense that they are renewing it now. According to Maria Varsellona, Chief Legal Officer at Nokia, “This is a meaningful agreement between Nokia and Apple. It moves our relationship with Apple from being adversaries in court to business partners working for the benefit of our customers.”
With this new agreement, it is said that Nokia will be providing “certain network infrastructure products and services” to Apple, while Apple has agreed to return health products owned by Nokia to Apple’s retail and online store, which in case you didn’t know are Withings-branded products which Apple promptly removed following Nokia’s lawsuit.
Unsurprisingly the figures involved in the new licensing agreement were not disclosed, but Apple is expected to pay Nokia an upfront cash payment along with additional revenues from the future stemming from the new agreement.

If it isn’t scary enough that robots could soon be taking over our jobs, it seems that computers are now smart enough to beat some of the best humans at their own game. In this case, it looks like Google’s AlphaGo AI has managed to beat the world’s number one Go player, Ke Jie, further cementing just how smart it is.
For those unfamiliar, AlphaGo is based off on Google’s DeepMind AI in which it was created to test its skills against real-life Go players. Back in 2016 it managed to win against legendary Korean champion Lee Se-dol, and while Lee did manage to win one round, AlphaGo ultimately trounced the player.
AlphaGo’s match against Ke Jie was announced last month where the 19-year old Chinese player was considered by many to be the best in the world and ranked number 1 worldwide. What was interesting in this match is that Ke Jie was found to have learnt from AlphaGo’s more unorthodox moves and tried to use it against the AI.
Ultimately AlphaGo won, although it seemed like a pretty close match as the AI won by just half a point. According to DeepMind CEO and co-founder Demis Hassabis, “I think it was a really wonderful game. Huge respect to Ke Jie for playing such a great game and pushing AlphaGo to its limits.” Note that this match is just the first and that the second will be played this Thursday, with the finale taking place on Saturday (both days are based on China time).

More often than not sometimes you might post a photo on Instagram that you might decide to delete later. There are many reasons for this, such as maybe on second thought it doesn’t look as nice as you think, or maybe you’re getting too many flames and trolls, and so on. However if you do decide to bring it back, it basically means starting from scratch again.
However in the future that may no longer be the case. The folks at TechCrunch were recently tipped off to a feature Instagram is testing by Matt Navarra. As you can see in the screenshot above, it seems that Instagram is testing out an archiving feature where users can choose to archive posts instead of deleting them outright.
Archiving a photo does not delete it and users will be able to quickly and easily bring it back at a later date if they choose. Instagram has since confirmed to TechCrunch that this is a feature that they are testing out, but stopped short on stating whether or not this will eventually become a feature that is available to all.
We have to admit that this is actually a rather clever feature and one we wouldn’t mind seeing. We’re not sure who the feature is being tested on, but if you do see it activated for your account, this is what it’s meant for.

You can’t just buy a hunk of meat, throw it on the grill and expect to eat a tasty feast. Travelers Chant 'Lock Him Up' As Man In Trump Hat Is Removed From United Plane
Posted in: Today's ChiliPassengers chanted “lock him up” as United Airlines had a man sporting a Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” campaign hat removed from a flight in Shanghai. The man delayed takeoff for hours as he was escorted from the flight for being belligerent, the airline confirmed in a statement Monday.
The incident is the latest in a slew of mid-air confrontations this year, with United hitting the headlines for an ugly incident involving a staff member. This time, passengers were reportedly upset with the unnamed man in the Trump campaign hat for refusing to allow anyone to sit next to him on Flight 187, apparently because he had been refused an upgrade.
He became so disruptive that airline staff told passengers to exit the plane so that they could remove him before the flight could travel to its destination in Newark, according to the airline. By the time the plane took off, it had to make an unscheduled stop in San Francisco to replace the crew, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
In scenes reminiscent of Trump taunting 2016 presidential rival Hillary Clinton at campaign rallies, videos show people in the terminal at Shanghai Pudong International Airport chanting “charge him” and “lock him up” at the man.
“Obviously, the hat provoked some of the stuff,” Alexis Zimmerman, who was flying back to Newark, told The Washington Post. Zimmerman said he heard the man say, “I know people don’t like my hat.”
Fellow passengers reported the man called other travelers names on the flight, including “moron, “lesbian” and “Hillary.”
He referred to another passenger as “stupid friend over here that don’t know how to speak English,” video shows.
It’s unclear what happened to the man in Shanghai.
“We’re grateful for the patience shown by our customers who endured the disruptive behavior of this passenger, as well as the exceptional poise and professionalism of our flight crew,” United said in a statement.
