What Men Say On Dates Versus What They Really Mean

Tired of the all coded language and cliches guys use during dates

Dating expert Matthew Hussey and YouTuber-actress Anna Akana are here to help. In a new joint video, Hussey sits in on Akana’s way-too-relatable faux first date and breaks down some vague statements.

For instance, when the guys smiles and says “you’re pretty intimidating,” what he really means is: “I’m afraid that my normal ways of impressing someone won’t work on you and I’m trying to make that your fault.”

And when he says “my exes are crazy,” it’s safe to assume he means: “I cause sane people to do crazy sh*t.”

Portland Murder Suspect Calls Stabbings 'Patriotism' In First Court Appearance

In a chilling first court appearance on Tuesday, Portland stabbing suspect Jeremy Christian yelled about free speech and patriotism and called for more deaths.

“Free speech or die, Portland!” Christian, 35, yelled as he walked into his arraignment hearing, local NBC outlet KGW reported. “You got no safe place. This is America. Get out if you don’t like free speech!”

Christian is accused of stabbing three men ― Ricky John Best and Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, who died from their injuries, and Micah David-Cole Fletcher, who is expected to survive ― after they tried to stop Christian from harassing two young women on a train in Portland, Oregon, because the women appeared to be Muslim.

“Death to the enemies of America. Leave this country if you hate our freedom. Death to Antifa!” he yelled in court Tuesday, referring to antifascism. “You call it terrorism, I call it patriotism. You hear me? Die.”

Christian faces multiple charges for aggravated murder, intimidation in the second degree, attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

His courtroom rant is only the latest in his long history of white supremacy, anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic behavior. He regularly shared violent, racist sentiments on the internet, marched as a neo-Nazi last month and found a likeminded community online

His next court appearance is scheduled for June 7.

Blizzard ‘Listening’ To Overwatch Loot Box Complaints

The thing with a lot of games is that they deal in randomness, meaning that whenever you open up treasure chests, loot boxes, or getting drops from mobs, it is completely random which can be understandably frustrating, but also fair. So far gamers have come to accept that of Overwatch’s Loot Boxes, or at least until recently.

As you might have heard, Blizzard has launched a new Anniversary Event to celebrate the game turning a year old, and have introduced new Legendary skins that can only be obtained in a limited time, and the RNG nature of the Loot Boxes aren’t sitting with players who are finding it impossible to collect them all, and have since voiced their complaints.

Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan has since responded to the complaints by stating that this is something they’re aware of and are looking into, but it seems that there are no immediate plans to do anything about it yet.

“I just wanted to acknowledge that we’ve been following the threads about the loot box rewards as they pertain to the anniversary events, other events and loot boxes in general. The feedback and suggestions have been helpful to us. We had a really great discussion yesterday about the feedback we’ve been hearing this week. While I don’t have any immediate action items to report, I thought it was important for you to know that we are listening.”

What this means is that until Blizzard actually does something about it, things aren’t changing and you’ll really have to just hope that you get what you want from these Loot Boxes.

Blizzard Teases Mysterious Overwatch Event

While Overwatch is pretty much a multiplayer-only game, it hasn’t stopped Blizzard from trying to give the game more depth by introducing character backstories, events, and so on that helps players get more into the game. Recently it seems that the developer could be teasing an upcoming event or a new hero.

In a post on the Overwatch blog, Blizzard uploaded a rather cryptic post which talks about the Horizon Lunar Colony. “At a press conference today, Lucheng Interstellar revealed the surprising fact that the colony’s databases and monitoring systems are still up and running this day. While no direct communication has been established with the facility, the company has successfully retrieved interpersonnel logs sent days and moments before the base lost contact with earth. Below are some of the transmissions Lucheng shared.”

For those unfamiliar, the Horizon Lunar Colony was the moon base in which Overwatch character, Winston, was raised. The blog post shows a series of emails between the scientists at the Horizon Lunar Colony, and interestingly enough there was someone that was mentioned by name – Hammond.

It is unclear who Hammond is, apart from the fact that he’s probably another gorilla, or his significance to the game. Could we be getting another gorilla character, but this time in villain form? We suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime what do you guys think?

Corsair Unveils New K68 Waterproof Mechanical Keyboard

Let’s be honest, as much as we probably shouldn’t get food or drinks near our computers, a lot of do that. We drink in front of our computers, we eat in front of our computers, and so on. This means that if you do spill stuff, it can lead to some of your equipment getting spoilt, but Corsair is hoping that won’t happen with the K68.

The company has recently announced their latest mechanical keyboard which according to them, will be waterproof up to a certain degree. By that we mean that you probably shouldn’t go swimming with it or submerge it underwater, but should you accidentally spill your drink on top of it, you won’t have to worry about it getting spoilt. In addition, Corsair claims that the keyboard has a rating of IP32 which also offers up dust resistance.

In terms of features, the K68 is pretty standard as far as mechanical keyboards come. It will be offered in Cherry MX Red switches, and comes with single-color LEDs in red. Note that they are single-color LEDs so if you want multiple LEDs or options, the K68 is probably not the keyboard for you.

It will offer up CUE software support and NKRO, and as far as pricing is concerned, customers can expect to pay $100 for the K68.

Intel Launches Compute Card With New Partners

When it comes to upgrading our gadgets, most of the time it involves us just buying a new one, unless you have a desktop computer in which you can swap out components. However this was a problem that Intel tried to solve earlier this year with the Compute Card and at Computex this year, the company has finally launched it alongside some new partners.

These partners include the likes of Dell, LG, and Lenovo. LG is said to have an all-in-one desktop in the works that supports the Compute Card, where users can upgrade to newer and better hardware in the future where it will be all about swapping out the card for a newer one that has better hardware on it.

For those unfamiliar with the Compute Card, basically this is a card that contains a processor, memory, storage, and networking. The idea is that machines could have slots in the future where the Compute Card could be put into, and whenever users needed to upgrade they’ll just swap the card out.

Razer attempted something similar with Project Christine a couple of years ago but it seems that it never really did quite take off in the same way, so perhaps Intel might have better luck.

YouTube For Android Gets New Bottom Navigation UI

Back in 2016, YouTube began testing out a new bottom navigation UI for its Android app that gave it a new layout. This feature wasn’t visible to all users but over time, YouTube started to roll it out to more users. Now it seems that YouTube might have decided that it was prime time that it was available to all.

In a post on the YouTube forums, YouTube has announced the changes that they have made within the app. For those who weren’t lucky enough to be part of the early groups of users to get the feature ahead of today, basically what YouTube has done is changed the navigation tab on the bottom of its Android app.

They have labelled it and state that because it is now at the bottom, it is easier to access with one’s thumb. They’ve also made some changes to the Account and Library section and have separated them to make it easier for users to find what they are looking for. The app will also now remember where you left off on each tab, so that users can easily pick up where they left off whenever they reopen the app.

For iOS users, these changes have already been made live a while back so it’s really only for Android users. YouTube claims the changes are rolling out as we speak so you should be able to expect them pretty soon.

After Denver Post Writer Out Following Racist Tweet, Site’s Former Exec Has Some Words

After a journalist’s racist tweet about the Japanese Indy 500 winner went viral this past weekend, a former colleague took to social media to sound off.

Gil Asakawa, a former executive producer at The Denver Post’s website, recently responded to his old colleague Terry Frei’s remarks about racer Takuma Sato. Frei had written that he felt “uncomfortable” the Japanese driver had won the Indianapolis 500 on Memorial Day weekend.

Though Frei deleted his tweet and is reportedly “no longer an employee” at the Denver Post, he still received a great deal of backlash from a variety of social media users including Asakawa.

“I wonder what my former colleague Terry Frei thought about my running the website that featured his sports coverage?” Asakawa asked in his post on Sunday. “Was he ‘very uncomfortable’ with me having power over his content?”

In his post, Asakawa questioned whether Frei would’ve reacted the same way had a German or Italian driver won the race. And further addressing how Frei tied Memorial Day to his objection to the win, Asakawa also mentioned the service of the 442nd Infantry Regiment, one of the most decorated units in U.S. military history made up of all Japanese-Americans.

“What was he thinking?” the Japanese-American writer said before calling the tweet a “disgusting disappointment.”

For Asakawa, his former colleague’s statements struck a nerve, as his father served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he told 9 News. He explained that his father was both “all-American and also very Japanese,” however served the United States. He told the outlet that he wonders how Frei would’ve reacted to the Japanese-American veteran.

Frei has issued a statement in an attempt to apologize, explaining that his actions were linked to a Sunday visit to his father’s grave at the Fort Logan National Cemetery. Frei said his father flew missions over Japanese targets during World War II. But Asakawa, whose dad is buried at the same cemetery, said he doesn’t buy Frei’s excuse.

“It’s sad to keep that kind of hatred in your soul,” he told 9 News. “My dad didn’t have any problems with Koreans, even though he fought Koreans.”
