BlackBerry KEYone Breaks Pre-Order Record At Carrier

BlackBerry might not be the brand or company you think of when it comes to smartphones these days. Back in the day that might have been the case, although right now the company’s brand isn’t quite what it used to be. However it seems that in the face of the competition, BlackBerry appears to be holding on pretty well.

In a recent tweet by TCL’s President and GM Steve Cistulli, he claims that the reservations for the BlackBerry KEYone is the most reserved BlackBerry phone ever at Canadian carrier Rogers. Cistulli did not provide us with any figures in terms of how many pre-orders/reservations were made, but either way we guess it’s still pretty optimistic news.

For those unfamiliar with BlackBerry’s situation at the moment, basically TCL is the company that has licensed the BlackBerry brand and is making the company’s smartphones at the moment. The KEYone is the company’s latest release and is a BlackBerry phone powered by Android that sports a physical QWERTY keyboard, something that helped make BlackBerry famous to begin with.

As it stands the KEYone has been on sale in the UK already, but it is expected to find its way to the US and Canada come 31st of May.

Injustice 2 ‘Red Hood’ DLC Trailer Released

NetherRealm’s Injustice 2 has been released but if you’re looking forward to additional playable characters, you might be interested to learn that a new trailer has been released that shows off one of the upcoming playable characters that players can look forward to that comes in the form of the Red Hood.

This will be part of an upcoming DLC pack that will also contain additional playable characters in addition to Red Hood, such as Starfire and Sub-Zero who will be coming over from the Mortal Kombat franchise. These characters will be part of the Injustice 2 Digital Deluxe Edition and the Ultimate Edition.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Red Hood character, he is Jason Todd who once worked with Batman but was killed by the Joker. However the powers of the Lazarus Pit brought him back to life, but it also brought him back at a cost because now Jason Todd is back with a vengeance and with a more vigilante attitude compared to before.

In any case if you have a couple of minutes to spare, you can check out the video above which shows what you can expect from the upcoming characters in the game. In the meantime these characters are just some of a few of what NetherRealm has planned for the game in the future.

Overwatch 3v3 Competitive Mode Being Considered

In Overwatch there are several different game modes that players can play in. One of those modes that was introduced as part of the anniversary was a 3v3 Lockout Elimination Arcade Mode, but it seems that the mode has been so well-received that some gamers have been asking Blizzard to make a competitive version out of it.

So the question is, will they? The good news for fans is that Blizzard is not completely closed to the idea. While the developer is not making any promises, it looks like they’re somewhat open to the possibility in the future, as stated by Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan in a post on the forums.

According to Kaplan’s post, “Glad you’re liking it! We will consider creating a competitive version. I think it’s still a little early to tell if the mode is stable and balanced enough to host a competitive version. We’re keeping a really close eye on it and playing it ourselves.” Like we said, no promises are being made but we guess this is still pretty good news anyway.

It remains to be seen if Blizzard will follow through, but as is with all changes made to the game, there will be testing and balancing involved so if and when Blizzard does make up their mind, we guess you shouldn’t expect it so soon.

Ex-CIA Director Slams Jared Kushner's 'Hubris' And 'Ignorance'

Former CIA Director General Michael Hayden said that the reported plan by chief White House adviser Jared Kushner’s to arrange secret communications with the Russians during President Donald Trump’s transition was “off the map” and like nothing he has seen in his lifetime.

Hayden wants to chalk up the stunning plan to “naivete” rather than evil intentions — but that’s not reassuring, he said in an interview on CNN.

“Right now, I’m going with naivete, and that’s not particularly comforting for me,” he said. “What manner of ignorance, chaos, hubris, suspicion, contempt would you have to have to think that doing this with the Russian ambassador was a good or an appropriate idea?”

Hayden was commenting on reports, which first appeared in The Washington Post Friday, that Kushner discussed last December establishing a secret communication channel with the Kremlin — using Russian facilities — without any monitoring by the U.S.

Kushner discussed the idea in Trump Tower with Sergei Kislyak, Russia’s ambassador to the U.S., who was surprised by the request, the Post reported, because of security risks such an arrangement would pose to both countries.

Kushner emerged last Thursday as a person of interest in the FBI’s investigation of Russian interference in the U.S. presidential election.

Without specifically mentioning the report about Kushner, Trump tweeted Sunday in an apparent response to a number of recent stories about his administration that “leaks coming out of the White House are fabricated lies.”

Kushner’s reported plan is evidence of an extreme cynicism about “organs of the state,” said Hayden, and a belief that government institutions only serve the self-interests of the president currently in power. The apparent implication of such a Kremlin link was that the Trump team trusted Russian agents more than the outgoing Obama administration or the U.S. intelligence community.

“What degree of suspicion of the existing government, what degree of contempt for the administration they were replacing would be required again to think this was an acceptable course of action?” he asked.

Hayden added: “It says an awful lot about us as a society that we could actually harbor those kinds of feelings that the organs of the state would be used by my predecessor to come after me or … to disrupt my administration in a way that made it seem legitimate to me to use the secure communications facilities of a foreign power — a foreign power that some in government alleged you were cooperating with to affect the American election.”

It’s evidence, he added, that “we are in a really dark place as a society.”

Channing Tatum And Adam Driver Are Your New Favorite Criminals

Channing Tatum and Adam Driver are the comedy duo we deserve.

In “Logan Lucky,” they play Southern nitwits turned criminal masterminds who hatch a plan for a detailed heist during a NASCAR race.

The first “Logan Lucky” trailer previews Steven Soderbergh’s first film since the director said he would retire from filmmaking in 2013. Soderbergh has described the project as an “anti-glam version of an ‘Ocean’s’ movie.”

Riley Keough plays the protagonists’ sister, who joins their scheme with the help of Joe Bang (Daniel Craig), a prison inmate who knows a thing or two about blowing up bank vaults. Also on hand to test out their Southern charm: Hilary Swank, Katherine Waterston, Katie Holmes, Seth MacFarlane, Sebastian Stan and Jim O’Heir.

“Logan Lucky” opens Aug. 18.
