A Mets fan watching his team lose its fourth straight game at Dodger Stadium on Thursday didn’t exactly come out a winner either.
In a moment on SNY shared by Keith Olbermann, the man attempted a one-handed grab of a foul ball while holding a baby. Or should we say while almost dropping the baby? Yikes.
Dude got his souvenir but lost the confidence of the baby’s mom, who grabbed the infant away from him. The man looked like he was trying to explain. That’s a strikeout in the making.

A Child Molester Moved Next Door To His Victim — And The Law Says It's Fine
Posted in: Today's ChiliDanyelle Dyer was only 7 years old when her father’s stepbrother, Harold Dwayne English, visited her childhood home in Bristow, Oklahoma for the summer. Throughout his visit, English continually molested Dyer until she told her parents what was happening one day.
“I would rather look down the barrel of a gun than relive the time I had to look into my 7-year-old daughter’s eyes as she struggled to tell me what had happened to her,” Dyer’s father told CNN.
English was tried and convicted of lewd molestation of a child and was sent to prison. Now, 14 years later, he’s out of prison and living next door to the same young girl he molested.
English moved in with his mother, Dyer’s grandmother, CNN reports. Both of Dyer’s parents reassured her that it was illegal for English to live next to them. Unfortunately, after multiple calls to local police and lawmakers, Dyer’s family realized there’s no law barring an abuser from living so close to his victim.
According to Broadly, Oklahoma law states that child abusers cannot live near schools and other child-specific areas. The law does not include restrictions in residential areas that could protect victims from their abusers in situations like Dyer’s.
“If I look outside, I can see my grandmother’s entire house. We are maybe 100 yards from her house,” 21-year-old Dyer told CNN.
Dyer’s father told local news channel KFOR that his daughter has been forced to relive her trauma since English moved in next door. “She’s had to bring her deepest darkest secrets out for the public to view just to try to rid this person of her life,” he said.
The 21-year-old told Broadly that living so close to English puts her on edge. “It’s a little nerve-wracking knowing that he’s so close,” Dyer said. “It brings back memories and emotions that I have hidden and put away and I don’t want to think about… Him moving in is the first time I’ve ever felt like a true victim.”
So, Dyer and her family took matters into their own hands.
On June 17, Dyer posted a photo of English on her Facebook page explaining her horrible situation. “Meet my abuser and my new neighbor. He has been asked to leave but in Oklahoma he can legally reside there,” her post reads. “My hope is to bring awareness that this information is public record and you should use it for your safety. And also make it aware that there is obvious flaws in Oklahoma Law regarding victim safety and well being.”

Dyer’s family has put up signs around their neighborhood to warn other families that a sex offender lives in their community.
“CHILD SEX OFFENDER Harold Dwayne English. Living with Betty Dyer,” the sign reads with large arrows pointing towards the house English lives in.
The Dyers are working with Oklahoma lawmakers to make a change. She told Broadly that her family has organized a rally in Bristow to protest the current law and hopefully raise awareness around child sexual abuse.
Dyer told KFOR that she thought long and hard about coming out publicly as a survivor of child sexual abuse, and hopes that she can help other survivors from facing the same issue.
“It’s very empowering for me because it makes me feel like I’m making a difference and I didn’t share my story for nothing. That it is bringing about positive change,” Dyer said. “And whether it affects one woman and I can help one woman, I’m completely happy with that.”

With one young character and his beloved doll, the Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Queen Sugar” is exploring ideas around masculinity, specifically in the black community.
In season two’s second episode, which aired on Wednesday, one of the main characters, Ralph Angel, is at a restaurant with his son, Blue, and Blue’s mother, Darla. During the episode, titled “To Usward,” there’s a moment in which Blue shows his doll named Kenya to the waiter, who encourages the boy to get a Transformer. This doesn’t sit well with Ralph, who defends his son’s choice to play with dolls.
“We’re going to get two ice cream sundaes, all the toppings y’all got ― one for my son and one for his doll. You got me?” Ralph Angel tells the waiter.
“Queen Sugar” creator Ava DuVernay spoke about her decision to have Blue play with a doll in an interview with the Los Angeles Times from September. DuVernay, the first woman of color to direct a $100 million film, explained that her goal of the OWN show is to reflect “all parts of our identity as black people.” She added she also wanted to challenge certain ideas of masculinity.
“I want to start to interrogate the ways in which we embrace our identity, and that’s happening with all the characters. Everyone is upside down with who they are and what it means to be someone else,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “It felt like there was a good opportunity with Blue to do the same, particularly around issues of identity as it relates to the ways in which we conform to certain notions of masculinity in the black community.”
In the interview, DuVernay mentioned she didn’t want Blue and his doll to be a “flag-waving” part of the first season, but she and the rest of her writers are ready to explore the topic more as Blue gets older and as more people start to notice his devotion to his toy.
“This is a commitment from me and the writers to really explore this storyline in a long-term way,” she said.

2017 hasn’t been reality TV star DeMario Jackson’s year.
In the span of a single month, he was exposed as a liar on national television, found himself at the center of a scandal that shut down production of “Bachelor in Paradise,” and inadvertently jumpstarted a conversation about consent and reality TV.
Now, he’s reportedly not returning as a contestant on the dating show, multiple outlets report, after an investigation led by Warner Bros. concluded there was no misconduct during filming. Jackson was reportedly invited back to “Paradise,” but declined the offer.
He believes “it’s not a good idea” to join the rest of the cast in Mexico for the upcoming fourth season of “Bachelor in Paradise,” according to a CNN source.
Jackson has also apparently entered therapy for his anxiety in the wake of the scandal, TMZ reports, and has no plans to return to reality TV anytime soon.
His search for love took a unexpected turn in June when a producer reportedly filed a complaint about a possible sexual assault, involving the 30-year-old and fellow contestant Corinne Olympios. In the days following the incident, both have released conflicting statements about the night in question.
While the official investigation into allegations of misconduct found no evidence of wrongdoing on Jackson’s part, Olympios and her team are committed to pursuing their own investigation into the matter.
Warner Bros. had no comment on casting, but HuffPost reached out to ABC and will update this post accordingly.

The claim to fame at Charlie Vergos Rendezvous in Memphis is an impressive one: founder Charlie Vergos is the man singlehandedly responsible for inventing the Memphis-style dry-rubbed rib, now one of the state’s most iconic foods.
The place started as a basement sandwich shop below a restaurant called Wimpy’s, and thankfully, both the stellar ribs and the chill, speakeasy vibes have stayed the exact same from the ’50s.
Follow your nose to the alley across from the Peabody Hotel (you literally can smell the smoke!) and down the stairs, and you’ll find a raucous crowd of longtime locals mixed with young people looking to have a classic Memphis experience. And you’ll no doubt get it — though the restaurant is now run by Vergos’ three children, the dry rubbed-ribs are as rich, complex and juicy as you want them to be.

Ru broke the news on Twitter Thursday night, telling his followers “my heart is beating so fast right now!”
Other big names to make the cut among the 2018 include Mark Hamill, Lynda Carter, Jennifer Lawrence, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Kirsten Dunst.

It’s impossible to “do it all” ― especially when you’re ambitious, but lazy.
That’s the premise of many of the comics on the Instagram account Yeah, It’s Chill, by New York City-based artist Christine.
Christine’s alter ego “Krysteen” attempts to get through the entire process of doing laundry and folding:
And tries to stay awake during yoga after an exhausting long work week:
Mostly, though, she cuts herself some slack when she doesn’t fulfill small daily tasks:
The 20-something illustrator told HuffPost that Krysteen’s experiences are based on her own life, though the character is a little more dramatic and comfortable in her skin.
“Krysteen recognizes that she can’t be perfect all the time and is OK with that,” she said. “There are so many expectations for women on how to live and be, but she knows that life isn’t that neat.”
Plus, she said, striving for the perfect life can be exhausting.
“Instead, Krysteen’s just out here living her best life!” the artist said.
