Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson isn’t one of those celebrities you need to pretend not to notice in public, as you go live on Instagram from underneath the table of the restaurant you both happen to be dining in.

No, he’s more likely to welcome you with open and unfathomably muscular arms, whether you spot him on a red carpet or, you know, stopped in traffic on a busy road.

That’s what happened when the “Baywatch” actor was driving his pick-up truck when a man abandoned his own truck in the opposite lane to snag a selfie with the star. Even though Johnson warned the fan about the potential dangers of standing near oncoming traffic, he did it anyway, for the ’gram, of course.

A post shared by therock (@therock) on Jun 20, 2017 at 12:49pm PDT

As he is wont to do, Johnson posted a video of the interaction to his Instagram page with a hilarious caption explaining exactly how it all went down:

Yeah but sometimes traffic is just gonna have to wait to make fans happy

I was driving in my pick up truck after work and my guy here pulled up beside me, recognized me and started freaking out. I rolled the passenger window down to say hello and then he REALLY freaked out. Jumped out of his rig and came around to my side where he stood in the oncoming traffic lane.

He said, “Holy shit Rock you’re my hero, can I take a picture with you?” I said yeah man but let’s pull over to the side and .. before I could even finish he was gone like a flash, “Hold on let me get my phone”.. The light’s turned green and now cars are coming towards him and driving around him. Not one car was beeping their horn because I’m sure they thought some road rage was going down.

No rage, just some big, brown, bald tattooed man in his pick up truck taking selfies in traffic. This dude put a grateful smile on my face and got a big ass laugh outta me as well. Besides the traffic jam we caused and his ass almost getting hit by oncoming traffic, making fans like this happy will always be the best part of fame. Thanks dude for making my day. #INeedDarkerWindowTint#GreatestFansInTheWorld

Donald Trump Admits He Didn't Tape Conversations With James Comey

President Donald Trump does not have any tapes featuring his private conversations with former FBI Director James Comey, the president said in a tweet Thursday.

Trump first suggested he had secret recordings in a tweet in May, days after he fired Comey. The FBI director had been leading the bureau’s investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

Trump had raised the possibility of tapes as a way “to ensure that Comey told the truth,” sources familiar with the situation told Bloomberg

The president’s tweets end weeks of speculation over whether such tapes exist. Trump and his aides have rebuffed reporters’ questions about the claim, telling them he would make an announcement soon. In his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee, Comey said he hoped the tapes existed.

The House Intelligence Committee, which is also investigating the potential Russia ties, sent a letter to the White House earlier this month requesting information on the tapes’ existence to be turned over by Friday.

This story is developing, check back for more.

Kelly Clarkson Just Helped A Gay Fan Propose To His Boyfriend

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

It only took a moment for pop superstar Kelly Clarkson to become a co-conspirator in a gay fan’s wedding proposal this week.

Longtime fan Alex Malerba and his boyfriend, Justin Blake, were ushered backstage for a meet-and-greet session with Clarkson at Las Vegas’s Venetian resort and casino after her performance Tuesday night. After posing with the “American Idol” songstress for a photo, Malerba dropped to one knee and popped the question to Blake.

As seen in a photo and video series Malerba posted to his Instagram, a teary-eyed Blake accepted the proposal while Clarkson looked on gleefully.

A post shared by Alex Malerba (@alex_malerba) on Jun 21, 2017 at 7:22am PDT

“I’m, like, a part of it,” the star gushed. After learning the couple had been together for four years, she quipped, “About damn time! I’m like, shit or get off the pot!”

Malerba, who hails from South Carolina, told HuffPost that the surprise proposal was part of his vow to travel the world with Blake. He said he tried reaching out to Clarkson after learning that he and Blake would be traveling to Las Vegas for IHG’s 2017 Americas Owners Conference last week, but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, his dedication caught Clarkson’s eye during her performance.

“During the show I was in the front row screaming and singing along to every word, which she noticed,” he said. “She gave me a shoutout and mentioned how she loves my dedication and my singing along helped her remember the words. It was cute!”

During the meet-and-greet, Malerba informed Clarkson of his plans to propose, at which point he said the star proclaimed, “Go get him ― let’s do this NOW!”

Congrats, gentlemen!

Man Arrested For Screaming At Child Who Played 'Keep Away' With Father's Day Card

This dad got popped.

A father is facing charges after he allegedly picked up a child at a day care center in Shelton, Connecticut, yelled at him and pinned him to the ground.

Oh, and when officers arrived, the man demanded the 5-year-old be arrested, according to NBC Connecticut.

Lance Churchill, 33, was arrested June 16 for the alleged incident, which started when a group of dads came to the Apple Tree Day Care for a Father’s Day celebration.

All the children, including Churchill’s son, made cards for their fathers. Churchill was looking at the card when another kid at the center playfully grabbed the card out of his hands, according to Shelton Police.

The child ran around the room while the 6-foot-4-inch, 270-pound suspect chased him. When Churchill finally caught up with the kid, he picked up the child and lifted him over his head, police said.

Then he pinned the kid to the ground and screamed at him in front of the other children, according to the New Haven Register.

Day care staff managed to rip the kid away from Churchill and called police.

When police arrived, Churchill asked them to arrest the 5-year-old boy, according to the Shelton Herald.

It’s probably not a spoiler alert to say that’s not how things played out. Instead, they arrested Churchill on charges of risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct.

He was later released on a $1,500 bond and has a court date for June 30.

Jay-Z: We Must Use Our Voices, Platforms To Demand Social Justice

Jay-Z understands the power of his voice when it comes to speaking out against injustice, and he’s pushing for more people to use theirs to help bring about social change.

“Look around at what’s happening in your town and your city right now. Think small, and you can do much bigger things,” the rapper wrote in a moving essay for The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

He mentioned the ways he has used his own resources to help tell the story of the late Kalief Browder, who died by suicide in 2015 after spending three torturous years on Rikers Island for allegedly stealing a backpack.

“The power of one voice is strong, but when it comes to social justice, the power of our collective voices is unstoppable,” he wrote. “Now is the time to recognize that through our voices we really can effect change.”

“Some of us will do the important work locally at the micro level to awaken our neighbors,” he continued. “Some of us will work for progress regionally. And a few of us will be like Kalief Browder, a modern-day prophet whose death two years ago started a discussion that continues today about how poor, black juveniles are treated in the criminal justice system.”

Jay-Z worked with film producer Harvey Weinstein to bring the documentary series “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” to TV, which he said made him realize that projects like this “could raise our voices and create that collective we need.”

“We can work together to demand change from our elected government officials,” he added. “We put them in office, we make the laws, and we show them the path to progress. That is our power, and it’s the only way that healing will come for Kalief and his family.”

Going forward, Jay-Z is pushing for more projects that speak to the harsh reality of race in America and his forthcoming documentary “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story” aligns with this mission.

“My hope is for my next documentary … to create a similar conversation that leads to change and helps keep our children safe,” he wrote. “But social justice isn’t a political issue. It’s a human issue. It’s a story of empathy. When we are able to identify that we are all not perfect and have compassion for someone else, we can move forward as a society.”

This Is Your Brain On Warm Weather

There’s just something about summer.

People’s attitudes seem noticeably different with the sunshine. And that isn’t a coincidence: Research shows warmer weather can have a small influence, positively and even occasionally negatively, on your mindset.

We’ve rounded up just a few ways the toastier temperatures of summer can affect your mood. Check them out below:

Spending time outdoors when it’s sunny is linked with a mood boost…

The gold standard on this subject is a 2004 University of Michigan study that found people who spent at least 30 minutes outside in pleasant weather — either by taking a trip to warmer climates in the winter months or by taking advantage of a newly warm spring day in the park — had happier moods. And in corroborating research, a 2014 UM study found that being outside could lead to a better mindset and reduced stress.

But if you’re still stuck in the tundra, don’t worry too much. Kelly Rohan, a professor of psychiatric science at the University of Vermont, points out that weather pales in comparison to other stress mitigators, such as the lessening of relationship or work pressures. While warmer weather doesn’t make a sizable difference in outlook, research supports the idea that nice weather has a positive psychological impact on the overall population, she told HuffPost.

…But don’t expect the same effect on the dog days of August.

The weather-mood connection is a positive one, up to a point. The original University of Michigan researchers also noted that positive attitudes seemed to wilt in particularly sweltering weather — an idea that’s also supported by other research conducted on climate and mood change.

Despite the fact that summer brings sunnier days and brighter colors, people are at a greater risk for heatstroke and dehydration during the warmer months, Dr. Brent Solvason, a Stanford University clinical associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, told HuffPost.

“There’s clearly a sense of discomfort because of the oppressiveness of the heat,” he said.

Both dehydration and heatstroke can have an influence on mood or behavior and, at their worst, can also damage the brain.

We’re generally happier when the days are longer…

More light = More happiness.

“People simply feel better on longer days and when there’s more available sunshine,” Rohan said. “The winter variety of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is mostly tied to how long the day is. So even though spring was a little slow coming this year… the days are still long. Those extra hours of sunlight make a really big difference.”

…But some people are more susceptible to depression during warmer months.

While it’s much less prevalent than the winter variety of SAD, some people do suffer from spring and summer SAD. Diagnosing and treating the disorder can be complicated, Solvason notes, mainly because conducting research on this specific type of depression is more challenging.

Experts theorize that warmer-weather SAD is aggravated by excessive heat and humidity, Rohan said.

“Those triggers are really different than wintertime, which is brought on usually by lack of light and shorter days,” she explained. “It’s really a few people that we’re talking about as opposed to the wintertime SAD people can relate to on some level, but it does happen.”

On the plus side, warm weather may make you more inventive.

The University of Michigan study also found that being outdoors in enjoyable climates can improve memory and broaden cognitive style, which is linked to more creative thoughts.

Being outside in pleasant weather really offers a way to reset your mindset,” said Matthew Keller, one of the study’s authors, when the research was released. “Everyone thinks weather affects mood, but the biggest tests of this theory … found no relationship, so we went back and found there are two important variables: how much time you spend outside and what the season is. If you go from winter to spring and spend enough time outside, there’s a noticeable change.”

So go on, celebrate that sweet, sweet summertime.

Ice Cube Dishes On How He Got His Cold Rap Moniker

We all bopped our heads as Ice Cube taught us his meaning of a good day in ’92 ― but did we ever stop to wonder just how O’Shea Jackson became Ice Cube?

During Cube’s guest appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday, the rapper and actor gave us a chance to get to know the man behind the name when he explained the origins of his rap moniker.

Apparently, it all started with a threat from his older brother Clyde.

Cube said that when he was younger, he would try to make moves on his brother’s girlfriends, which Clyde didn’t take lightly.

“Back in those days when you wanted to throw out an old refrigerator you’d dump it on the curb and someone would come pick it up,” Cube began. “Well, my brother was like, ‘Yo, that refrigerator down the street? I’m gonna take you down there, I’m slammin’ you in the freezer and when they pull you out you’re gonna be an ice cube.’”

There goes it. Cube even took the time to give Colbert a rap moniker of his own.

“The Late Night Show with Pimp Daddy Colbert” has a nice ring to it, no?
