Dolce & Gabbana's Feud With Miley Cyrus Sure Escalated Quickly

Take a nice, long look at Miley Cyrus’ brother Braison walking in the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Milan on Saturday.

Chances are you will never see him on the designers’ runway again.

A post shared by Miley Cyrus (@mileycyrus) on Jun 17, 2017 at 8:00am PDT

Cyrus shared an image of her younger brother modeling in the show on Instagram, along with an effusive caption congratulating him for making his first ever runway appearance. At the tail end of the message, she noted that although she “STRONGLY” disagrees with the designers’ political stances, she supports their efforts to “celebrate young artists [and] give them the platform to shine their light for all to see.”

Apparently, Stefano Gabbana only managed to see that one short line in the lengthy post, in which Cyrus may be referencing Gabbana’s infamous and ongoing support of first lady Melania Trump. She could also be referencing his partner and ex-boyfriend Domenico Dolce’s controversial comments about children born through IVF being “synthetic.” “The only family is the traditional one,” he said in a joint interview.

Maybe she’s referring to both. Either way, Gabbana called Cyrus’ words “ignorant” in an Instagram reply, writing, “For your stupid comment never more work with him.”

Considering Cyrus merely stated she disagrees with the designers and complimented their brand in spite of it, refusing to work with her brother again seems pretty drastic.

But it’s also not surprising, as Gabbana reacts strongly to criticism. After all, it was just last week the brand debuted its defiant $245 “Boycott Dolce & Gabbana” T-shirts in response to criticism they’ve received for supporting Trump. And before that, Gabbana told some of his followers to “go to hell” after they spoke out against his fawning photos of the first lady wearing his clothing.

As for Braison Cyrus and his burgeoning modeling career, we’re going to guess he’s not losing much sleep over the whole thing. Miley Cyrus wrote in her Instagram that “it’s never been my little brother’s dream to be a model as HE is one of the most talented musicians my ears have ever been given the gift of hearing.”

Supermassive black hole dust is denser than we thought

The majority of galaxies have a supermassive black hole at their core. And, like our own Milky Way version, most of these black holes are relatively quiet. However, a minority of supermassive black holes are incredibly active, consuming dust, gas, an…

Stream The New Jay-Z Album Exclusively On Tidal

Rop mogul Jay-Z is going to release this thirteenth solo album later this month. You might be expecting that it would be an exclusive release for Tidal, the music streaming service that’s owned by Jay-Z himself, and you wouldn’t be wrong. The rap mogul’s fans will be able to stream the new Jay-Z album online via Tidal starting June 30th. The new album is titled 4:44.

This is Jay-Z’s first solo album since Magna Carta Holy Grail which was released four years ago. It goes without saying that his fans will be anxiously waiting to hear the music that he has cooked up in these past few years.

It’s obviously not surprising to see that Jay-Z is making his new album exclusive to Tidal, even though there are other music streaming services out there that have a significantly larger user base than Tidal.

Exclusive releases are one of the ways with which music streaming services bring in new subscribers. Plenty of Jay-Z fans who haven’t subscribed to Tidal as yet will do so on June 30th when the new Jay-Z album drops.

Tidal subscribers will be able to stream the album exclusively starting June 30th. It’s also going to be available to Sprint subscribers. Tidal has said that 4:44 is the first of many exclusive releases that will be available to Sprint customers as well.

If you’re wondering why Tidal is being so generous with Sprint, that’s because Tidal sold 33 percent of the streaming service to Sprint for $200 million a few months back.

Downgrade Windows 10 S To Windows 10 Pro Now Possible

It has only been a couple of weeks since Microsoft unveiled Windows 10 S. It’s a new iteration of its desktop operating system that aims to counter the runaway success of Google’s Chrome OS. It offers the full Windows experience but can only run apps that have been installed from the Windows Store. Microsoft did not allow this previously, but it’s now possible to downgrade Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro.

Microsoft recently released the Surface Laptop, its first notebook that comes with Windows 10 S straight out of the box. The company is allowing all Surface Laptop owners to upgrade from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Pro for free until the end of this year.

Once this deadline passes, Surface Laptop owners will be able to upgrade nonetheless, but they will then have to pay a $49 fee for the upgrade.

Microsoft also said initially that once Windows 10 S users upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, they wouldn’t be able to downgrade to the lighter version of Windows. The company has changed its position on this now and is allowing the downgrade.

Microsoft has released an official recovery image of Windows 10 S which is now available from its support page. Users can download it from there by entering their device’s serial number. It’s a 9GB download.

Users can then use this image to downgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 S. However, they have to keep in mind that doing so is going to wipe all data from their Surface Laptop.

Los Angeles Is Open To Building Elon Musk’s Underground Traffic Tunnels

You may remember that Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk recently came up with the idea of boring tunnels under the surface to ease up the flow of traffic on the roads above. He liked this idea so much that he started a new company aptly called The Boring Company and has since showcased his vision for underground tunnels. Something of this sort can obviously not be achieved without having the city onboard. Musk has been talking about this idea with the city officials in Los Angeles and he says that those talks have been “promising.”

Musk said that he has had “promising conversations” about this idea with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. The mayor didn’t say who well the talks have been progressing in an interview with ABC, but he appears to be open to the idea.

The Boring Company aims to create a grid of high-speed tunnels underground which will be used to transport cars and people. Musk previously shared a rendering of what this entire system could look like in real life.

The idea is to ease up traffic congestion above ground by shifting cars and people underground. It’s a strategy that has worked well for decades with subway lines but it’s going to be another feat altogether making it work with cars of different shapes and sizes.

Whether or not LA is ever going to give the go-ahead for a project of this sort remains to be seen.

Galaxy Note 8 Launch Event May Take Place In New York This August

There have already been countless rumors that Samsung is going to release the Galaxy Note 8 ahead of schedule. The company was previously expected to come out with this handset at the IFA trade show in Berlin this September. The rumor mill now believes that Samsung is actually going to unveil this handset sooner. A new rumor out of China suggests that the Galaxy Note 8 is going to be launched in mid-August at an event in New York City.

The rumor out of China claims that Samsung is going to officially unveil the Galaxy Note 8 in the third week of August and that the launch event is going to take place in New York City.

Samsung was previously expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA 2017 in Berlin. The company has used the IFA stage multiple times in the past to unveil new Galaxy Note devices so many believe that it’s going to be that way in 2017 as well.

It goes without saying that Samsung hasn’t confirmed this so nothing is set in stone so far. We can’t really say for sure when the company is planning to unveil its next flagship smartphone.

Samsung is likely going to confirm the official launch date a couple of weeks before it’s due. We can expect the confirmation to come in either by late August or by early September.

GTA 5 OpenIV Mod Ban Crashes Game’s Review Score On Steam

Take-Two has rapidly been closing down GTA Online mods and the community isn’t liking it one bit. Rockstar’s parent company recently decided to ban the GTA 5 OpenIV mod and the community is now putting up a united front in its demand for the mod to be brought back. The community has crashed GTA 5’s review score on Stream by leaving tons of negative reviews in protest.

OpenIV was a multi-purpose editor and archive manager for GTA 5 on PC. It was a very popular mod for the title. It was banned because Rockstar believes that it enables malicious mods that have recently been making the rounds.

The community isn’t ready to believe Rockstar’s explanation, or see that several other mods that allow for cheating and griefing online have been shut down as well. Players are united in their demand for the mod to be unbanned.

A Change.org petition has already been started to “Save OpenIV.” It mentions that the closing of this mod leaves “10,000s” of players without being able to mod their games, something that has long been associated with the Grand Theft Auto series. It has only been five days since this petition was launched and it already has more than 50,000 signatures.

To get its point across to Rockstar, the community has also been downvoting Grand Theft Auto 5 on Steam in protest. Whether or not this will be enough for Rockstar to change its position on the matter remains to be seen.

Galaxy S8 Active Gets Listed On Samsung’s Website

It has been a couple of months since Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. As we’ve seen in the past couple of years, the company comes out with an “Active” variant of the new flagship a few months later. Over the past few weeks, we have heard rumors and reports about the Galaxy S8 Active even though it hasn’t been announced as yet by the company. The Galaxy S8 Active has now been spotted listed on Samsung’s own website.

The Galaxy S8 Active bearing model number SM-G892A has been mentioned in a document that’s available on Samsung’s website. The document details all of the apps that this handset is going to ship with when it’s ultimately released.

Given that this document has emerged on Samsung’s website now, it may only be a matter of time before Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy S8 Active.

As has been the case with previous Active devices, it’s quite likely that the Galaxy S8 Active will be an AT&T exclusive in the United States as well. No other carrier in the country sells it except AT&T.

Recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy S8 Active is going to have a flat 5.8 inch display, an Exynos 8895 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, a body that’s durable to the MIL-STD-810G standard as well as a slightly larger battery than the 3,500mAh cell found in the Galaxy S8+.

No word as yet on the pricing and release date.
