Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Campaign Gameplay Footage Released

Bandai Namco has frequently highlighted Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown on the PlayStation VR in a mode that’s completely separate from the campaign. There has been a lot of excitement to see how the latest addition in this long-running franchise presents its campaign mode. The publisher is finally providing us a glimpse at the Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown campaign today. It has released the first campaign gameplay footage from this game much to the delight of fans everywhere.

The Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown gameplay footage demonstrates the third mission in the campaign titled Two Pronged Strategy.

The game itself is set in the fictional world of Strangereal where a war has broken out between Osea and Erusea. Osea has been hurt badly after an attack by Erusea which has taken control of the Space Elevator.

Fortunately for Osea, it still has two aircraft carriers left. The first carrier is tasked with attacking Farbanti, the capital of Erusea while the other carrier is to launch missions in order to achieve air superiority over Chopinburg so that fresh squadrons can perform their missions with relative ease.

The gameplay footage suggests that it’s going to be a lot of fun tearing through the skies in this fictional world. I, for one, can’t wait for this game to arrive. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown will be released next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This title was initially a PS4 exclusive but it will now be launched on the aforementioned platforms as well.

Amazon plans to stop in-store shoppers from online price checking

For years, we’ve walked into retail stores only to pull out our phones and compare the prices we see to those online, generally using a website like Amazon to see if we’re getting a good deal. Now that Amazon is beginning to expand into retail spaces of its own, it has to worry about those same pricing comparisons. In a … Continue reading

15 Queer Black Music Artists Who Are Proudly Living Their Truth

There has to be some significance in the fact that June is the month to honor both the LGBTQ community and black music.

As festivals are being held throughout the world this June in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, homage is simultaneously being paid to black music pioneers in acknowledgement of Black Music Month

While already facing the ever-present challenges inherent to blackness, a number of black musicians have still been gallant enough to claim sexual identities that could hamper their success.

So in honor of these black artists who are boldly standing in their truth, we’ve rounded up 15 musicians of color who are unapologetically here and queer.

1. iLoveMakonnen

The Atlanta native who emboldened us to think clubbing on “Tuesday” was acceptable in 2014 performed a bolder act this January when he announced that he was gay

Given the hip-hop community’s reputation of homophobia, which is particularly geared towards gay men, iLoveMakkonen’s decision to come out to the public was commendably unapologetic.

2. Mykki Blanco

The one thing rapper and poet Mykki Blanco isn’t lacking in is character ― which may be why the artist has gained the affections of thousands. Blanco, whose real name is Michael Quattlebaum Jr. wouldn’t be who he is without the vulgar lyricism, wry humor and free-spiritedness echoed in songs like “For the C**ts.”

3. Azealia Banks

Azealia Banks may be self-destructively petty and engage in strange chicken rituals, but there is one admirable thing about the “212” singer: she doesn’t want to be defined by her sexuality.

In 2012, she told The New York Times: “I’m not trying to be, like, the bisexual, lesbian rapper. I don’t live on other people’s terms.”

4. Siya

Rapper Siya first entered the public eye when she starred in Oxygen reality show “Sisterhood of Hip-Hop.” Since then, she’s become a regular on the series and has teamed up with R&B artist Tank for a few musical collabs.

5. Angel Haze

Angel Haze caught the internet’s attention in 2013 with her painful recollection of childhood sex abuse in a rendition of Eminem’s “Cleaning Out My Closet.” The song inspired conversations about how rap can confront rape culture. Haze has since had a number of singles and is currently boo’ed up with model Ireland Baldwin.

6. Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean fans were annoyingly shook when the “Thinking About You” singer revealed that he once fell in love with a man in a 2012 Tumblr post

After the revelation, the public didn’t hear much from the generally reclusive singer until last year. Following the the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub, Ocean took Tumblr to share his experiences with homophobia following the horrific attack which targeted the LGBT community last June.

Ocean’s letter expressed his devastation in the wake of the shooting and even referenced his father’s own prejudice toward the LGBT community.

7. Big Freedia

The self-described “Queen Diva of New Orleans Bounce,” Big Freedia thrust herself into southern hip-hop culture in 1999 ― but it wasn’t until a decade later that she gained widespread recognition. Freedia’s larger-than-life persona attracted shot-callers at TV network Fuse in 2013 when the station gave Freedia her own reality series. “Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce” will enter its sixth season in September.

8. Kaytranada

In a 2016 interview with Fader, DJ & music producer Kaytranada revealed he was over being closeted. “I felt like there were two people inside me. I was trying to be somebody I was not, and I was frustrated that people didn’t know who I was,” the Haitian-Canadian artist told the publication.

9. Young M.A

The hip-hop community’s acceptance of gay rapper Young M.A marked an important moment within and outside of the music genre last fall

While some of Young M.A’s lyrics about women are disappointingly problematic and may prevent her from becoming the poster child for lesbian feminism, her ability to dominate the hip-hop scene regardless of her sexual orientation was pretty monumental.

10. Syd the Kid

The only thing better than an artist being openly gay is listening to them croon about their same-sex attractions in their music. In “Ego Death,” the latest album by R&B band The Internet, the group’s lead singer Syd the Kid is literally singing her boo’s praises in “Girl.”

11. Meshell Ndegeocello

When 10-time Grammy nominated singer Meshell Ndegeocello was 18 years old, she sang about about taking another woman’s boyfriend. Now 48, the singer is settled down with a wife, two kids and is presumably staying away from other people’s relationships.

Although she’s proud of her bisexuality, in 2010, the raspy-voiced singer told Out magazine that being defined by her sexual orientation “limits [her] artistically.”

12. Taylor Bennett

Chance The Rapper’s adorable little bro Taylor Bennett came out via social media in January. Bennett, a rapper and actor took to Twitter to declare his bisexuality.

“I do recognize myself as a bisexual male & do & have always openly supported the gay community & will keep doing so in 2017. #ThankYou,” one of the rapper’s tweets read.

13. Felicia Pearson

To the majority of the HBO viewing world, Felicia Pearson will forever be associated with her famous “The Wire,” character Snoop. But, as chronicled on VH1’s “Love and Hip-Hop: New York,” Pearson has also been trying her hand in the music business.

In addition to having her own record label, she also appears in Tony Yayo’s song “It’s A Stick Up.” Pearson’s tumultuous romantic relationship with J. Adrienne also served as an interesting storyline on the show.

14. Todrick Hall

Todrick Hall didn’t win the ninth season of American Idol where he was told by Simon Cowell that his singing career would never go beyond Broadway.

Hall did star in Broadway’s “Kinky Boots” beginning last November, but he didn’t stay on the stage as salty Simon predicted. Prior to the play, the queer multi-talented 32-year-old released a 16-song visual album “Straight Outta Oz” which has garnered over 1.1 million YouTube views and led to a nationwide tour.

15. Kehlani

Singer Kehlani, who has said she’s part black, is a bisexual free-spirit from Oakland, California. Her hit songs “Distraction” and “The Way” have attracted mainstream attention. But it’s one of her lesser-known songs that will leave you with the utmost respect for the singer.

In “First Position,” a bold Kehlani persuades a seemingly bi-curious woman to “stop messing with those boys and “get you a lady” and it’s utterly awe-inspiring.

It’s only a matter of time before more dope artists like these infiltrate the music scene. In the meantime, claim your blackness and queerness deafeningly loud and stay proud.

Too Many Americans Apparently Think Chocolate Milk Comes From Brown Cows

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

You’ve probably heard the old joke that chocolate milk comes from brown cows.

In the minds of some people, that idea is all too real.

Just to avoid any confusion right off the bat ― chocolate milk is just regular milk that has been mixed with chocolate syrup or cocoa powder.

But a survey conducted by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy found that 7 percent of American adults believe that chocolate milk comes from brown cows, spokeswoman Lisa McComb confirmed to HuffPost.

Food and Wine covered the survey on June 1, but the statistic went viral on Thursday after the Washington Post published its report on the findings.

One problem ― it’s tough to gauge the survey’s reliability. It’s possible, for instance, that some people were simply trying to be funny while answering the question.

McComb told HuffPost the survey was conducted by market researching group Edelman Intelligence and polled 1,000 people.

“Responses came from all 50 states, and the regional response breakdown was fairly even, with a slight uptick (approx. 10% higher) in the South,” McComb said in an email.

The center, though, was unable to provide a full copy of the survey. And when asked about the survey’s methodology, McComb only said it was “conducted online.”

That said, any adults thinking chocolate milk comes from brown cows is too many. The Post notes that the finding fits a general pattern of Americans being a bit fuzzy on where their food comes from. For instance, a Department of Agriculture study from the 1990’s found that almost 1 in 5 adults didn’t know hamburgers were beef.

In any case, we hope coverage of this survey helps clear things up for some people. And we’re still left with one burning question ― where do these people think strawberry milk comes from?

ChristianBees.com Is Where Karen Pence Got Those 20,000 Bees

On Tuesday, the wife of the vice president, Karen Pence, moved 20,000 bees to the vice president’s residence in Washington, D.C., citing the important role bees play in our country’s agriculture. But where did she get all those bees?

The answer is ChristianBees.com, one of the many pretend sponsors of “Conan.”

‘Leftovers’ Star On Why She Can Be Both Religious And Pro-Abortion Rights

Actress Amy Brenneman had an abortion when she was 21 years old, and she refuses to be shamed for speaking about it.

In a new video for the Lives of Women series, Brenneman talks about being both pro-abortion rights and an active member of her church, as well as coming to terms with the anti-abortion community.

“I absolutely think the word ‘Christian’ has been stolen in 2017 in America by the Christian right,” she says in the video. She said that her church is “prayerfully pro-choice” and believes in giving full “moral agency” to women. (In the past, Brenneman has said she attends an Episcopalian church, and that she’s also half-Jewish.)

Brenneman has long been outspoken about women’s right to have access to abortion care, and said that being open about her experience came at a cost.

In 2006, she joined celebrities like Gloria Steinem and Kathy Najimy in signing a Ms. Magazine petition called “We Had Abortions,” to normalize the procedure. In a 2015 HuffPost Live video, she said that she thinks abortion should not be “demonized” and went to bat for Planned Parenthood, too.

After the 2015 interview ― 10 years after initially coming out about having an abortion and, as she says in the Lives of Women video, “in the age of Twitter and Facebook” ― she had to endure trolling from the religious right and anti-abortion communities. She says in the video that she remains grateful for her decision to have an abortion regardless, and accepts that she will always be at odds with the anti-abortion community.

“I don’t feel like I’m in conflict with where I go every Sunday,” she says in the video. “To live alongside this hatred [from the anti-abortion community] has been really empowering, and ultimately freeing.”

Honey, she’s back.

Shania Twain’s new single, “Life’s About to Get Good,” has officially dropped. It’s the first new song she’s released in 15 years and, damn, it’s just as fantastic as we’d expect.

The upbeat track has endearing lyrics, including “life’s about joy, life’s about pain,” and poster-ready lines like “I’m ready to be loved and love the way I should.”

It’s the first single off her upcoming album, “Now,” set for release Sept. 29.

Twitter is absolutely loving the single, too:

We cannot wait for everything else Shania’s got for us.

A Look At The Most Dangerous Rope-Free Ascent Ever

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

In early June, acclaimed rock climber Alex Honnold became the first person to scale the 3,000-foot granite wall known as El Capitan without using ropes or other safety gear. Yes, that’s right. He did it without any sort of safety net. A feat so insane, that it is perhaps the peak of rock climbing history. Honnold ascended the peak in 3 hours, 56 minutes, in a style known as “free soloing”. The style is known for it’s inherent danger, where a fall would almost always result in death. Already, many famous free soloists have perished in the midst of an ascent.

Some might think Honnold is fearless but that’s incorrect. Since every time he does one of these climbs he finds himself facing death, Alex has come to terms with his own mortality. When asked about fear, Honnold said “I have the same hope of survival as everybody else. I just have more of an acceptance that I will die at some point.”

In an effort to capture the insane feat, a team of filmmakers followed Honnold’s ascent up El Capitan for an upcoming National Geographic Documentary. It won’t be for the faint of heart.

Passengers Spot Fuel Pouring Out Of Airplane Wing On United Flight

function onPlayerReadyVidible(e){‘undefined’!=typeof HPTrack&&HPTrack.Vid.Vidible_track(e)}!function(e,i){if(e.vdb_Player){if(‘object’==typeof commercial_video){var a=”,o=’m.fwsitesection=’+commercial_video.site_and_category;if(a+=o,commercial_video[‘package’]){var c=’&m.fwkeyvalues=sponsorship%3D’+commercial_video[‘package’];a+=c}e.setAttribute(‘vdb_params’,a)}i(e.vdb_Player)}else{var t=arguments.callee;setTimeout(function(){t(e,i)},0)}}(document.getElementById(‘vidible_1’),onPlayerReadyVidible);

Newlyweds Rachel and Mike Brumfield are being called heroes after the pair spotted fuel gushing out of the wing of their United Airlines flight on Tuesday night.

Brumfield said via Twitter that crew members were oblivious to the incident as the plane was about to take off.

“Clearer video of the #united #gasleak. How not one crew member saw this is beyond me,” Brumfield wrote alongside a video of fuel pouring out of the wing. “Thank god we were lookin out the window at take off.”

According to an interview with the New York Post, Brumfield and her husband Mike were on their way to Venice for their honeymoon. After noticing the fuel, Mike rushed to tell flight attendants about the incident, though he was apparently ignored.

“He’s like, ‘But something’s not right.’ They said, ‘Is it an emergency?’ He said, ‘I don’t know,’ so they said, ‘Go sit down,’” Rachel told the Post. “They said, ‘Everything’s normal.’”

But after finally spotting the fuel, the flight attendants went into emergency mode and alerted the pilot and emergency services. Rachel told the Post that United later gave the couple champagne for their efforts and told them to “go easy” on social media.

“I will never fly United again,” Rachel told the outlet, after adding that the airline apparently didn’t give them a place to sleep while they waited for another flight.  “Every person there was awful.”

Jonathan Guerin, spokesman for United Airlines, gave HuffPost a statement about the incident via email:

“While taxiing to the runway on Tuesday evening, United flight 170 traveling from Newark to Venice, Italy returned to the gate due to a fuel leak, and was later cancelled. We apologized to our customers for the inconvenience. Our team worked to provide customers with hotel accommodations for the night and to get them back on their way to Venice the next day.”

Over the past few months, United Airlines has been rocked by controversy. In March, the company stopped three young girls wearing leggings from boarding a flight as they were traveling as guests of an employee. A month later, passenger Dr. David Dao suffered a broken nose and missing teeth after he was violently removed from his overbooked flight. In May, the company came under fire after a gay father was accused of molesting his son on a flight and the airline was fined for flying planes that weren’t “airworthy.”
