‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Star Thinks His Character Is Being Assassinated

Something messy happened between contestants DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios on “Bachelor in Paradise,” but as the investigation continues, it’s turning into a case of he said, she said.

Production on the upcoming season of ABC’s “Bachelor” spinoff was halted last week over “allegations of misconduct” during an encounter of sexual nature between Olympios and Jackson. A field producer reportedly filed a complaint about a possible sexual assault, which was captured on film, although Jackson claims the interaction was consensual.

Now, Jackson is speaking out about the allegations, as details about their night together from other contestants and producers start to trickle in.

In a statement released by his publicist, Eve Sarkisyan-Nunn, to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, Jackson claims he is the victim of character assassination.

It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations.

I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.

This strikes a different tone than a previous soundbite about the controversy, in which he refused to comment on the matter except to sing Olympios’ praises.

“I have nothing to say. You know, Corinne’s an awesome girl and that’s all I have to say,” he told ET earlier this week. “Love you all, thank you for the support.”

Jackson’s statement comes a day after Olympios announced she hired top Hollywood attorney Marty Singer to represent her, describing herself as a “victim” at the center of a nightmare becoming reality.

Olympios explained that she has enlisted legal counsel to make sure whatever happened “comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.”

While Warner Bros. pursues an official investigation into the matter, the fate of “Bachelor In Paradise” hangs in the balance, but given the nature of these conflicting accounts, we doubt this will be resolved quickly.

New iPad Pros Appear To Outperform The MacBook Pro In Some Areas

Could there be a future in which tablets will eventually replace laptops as portable computers? We suppose it is possible, although there probably needs to be some changes made to how tablets function, not to mention the power behind tablets as some users might be more demanding than the rest.

However it looks like Apple could be inching towards that future. In a post on Barefeats (via 9to5Mac), they tested out Apple’s new 2017 iPad Pro lineup and put them up against Apple’s Touch Bar MacBook Pros and based on the benchmarks we are looking it, it looks like Apple’s new iPad Pros are actually beating out the MacBook Pro in terms of performance in certain areas.

Using GeekBench 4 to test the devices, Barefeats found that Apple’s 2017 12.9-inch and 10.5-inch iPad Pro models actually beat out the 13-inch 2016 Retina MacBook Pro in terms of multi-core performance. The tablets were also found to have outperformed the 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pros in terms of the Metal GPU score, and also in terms of framerates where the tablets boasted considerably higher framerates than the laptops.

That being said, it is unlikely that users will be swapping their MacBook Pros for iPad Pros anytime soon. These are different devices and are used in different ways, but it does go to show just how powerful our tablets are becoming these days.

OnePlus Co-Founder Addresses iPhone 7-Lookalike Claims

Recently OnePlus reminded the public that they would be unveiling the new OnePlus 5 on the 20th of June, and in the process they also tweeted out the design of the phone. The phone itself looks pretty good, although right off the bat there were many comparisons drawn up in which many seemed to feel that the handset was reminiscent of Apple’s iPhone 7.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has since tweeted his response to the claims in which he wrote, “Does anyone still remember the commotion regarding the OnePlus 3 design before it came out? It stopped as soon as people got the device.” We guess so far the public only has the current image to base their assumptions on, and that perhaps in real-life the handset could look rather different.

To be fair, OnePlus has not been the only company who has been accused of copying Apple’s designs. In the past we’ve seen how other companies such as HTC have similarly been accused, and let’s not forget the infamous legal tussle between Apple and Samsung over design patents, but we guess at the end of the day it is the user experience and the features that helps make a phone great.

Whether or not the OnePlus 5 will live up to the hype remains to be seen, but based on the rumored specs, it sounds like it could be quite a handset to behold, so do check back with us next week for the details.

Facebook Rolls Out GIF Button For Comments For All Users

Sometimes a picture says more than words could, hence the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. This is also why emojis can sometimes convey our mood and feelings better than written words, and now it looks like Facebook is spicing up the comments section on its app.

In a report from TechCrunch, it looks like Facebook has started to roll out the GIF button for comments on the Facebook app. What this means is that users will now be able to quickly and easily attach GIFs to their comments, which should help make things a little more fun. Note that this feature isn’t “new” per se as Facebook has actually been testing it out for a few months now, but we guess it looks like Facebook has decided that the feature is now ready for prime time.

Before this if users wanted to attach GIFs, they’d have to link the URL of the GIF that they wanted to attach, which wasn’t quite as ideal, especially if users aren’t familiar with where to find GIFs. Alternatively we guess one could use keyboards like Gboard to attach GIFs, but now Facebook will have it as a native feature, so if you enjoy sending GIFs to your friends, then this is a feature to look out for, which like we said should be rolling out to all users now.

Mozilla Announces Firefox 54 Which Will Use Less RAM

There are several different browsers available out there today, some of which are more preferred than others, although sometimes preferred doesn’t necessarily mean the best. For example for a while, Google’s Chrome browser was notorious for being a memory hog, although its speed and features did help make up for it.

Now if you’re running a computer that doesn’t have quite as much RAM, like an older PC, and you want something a bit less memory intensive, then you might want to check out Firefox 54 which was recently announced by Mozilla, and which they are touting it to be the “best Firefox ever”.

According to Mozilla, “With today’s release, Firefox uses up to four processes to run web page content across all open tabs. This means that a heavy, complex web page in one tab has a much lower impact on the responsiveness and speed in other tabs. By separating the tabs into separate processes, we make better use of the hardware on your computer, so Firefox can deliver you more of the web you love, with less waiting.”

Ultimately this means that Firefox 54 will be less memory intensive compared to other browsers. In Mozilla’s comparisons, they found that the latest release consumed the least amount of RAM compared to the competition, with Chrome consuming the most, Microsoft Edge second, and Safari third. If you’d like to check it out, head on over to Mozilla’s website for the download.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Could Come With An 8GB RAM Variant

With the Samsung Galaxy S8, the company launched the phone which packed 4GB of RAM, although it was later revealed that there would be a 6GB variant headed for China. Now 4GB of RAM is pretty decent and is more than enough to get most tasks done, but we guess having more isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

That’s something that Samsung could be considering for the Galaxy Note 8. According to the rumors, it seems that Samsung could be working on more RAM variants for the Note 8, and that the company could launch the phone in either a 6GB RAM version of an 8GB RAM version, although we’re not sure if these variants will be open to all regions, because like we said the 6GB RAM Galaxy S8 version appeared to be limited to China.

There are some who might argue that 8GB of RAM is overkill, especially when you consider the fact that there are plenty of phones out there that are running on 4-6GB of RAM or even less, like Apple’s iPhone, and are performing just fine. However perhaps Samsung has bigger plans for the Note 8 that might require the additional RAM, or perhaps it’s just good for marketing purposes.

Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Is 8GB of RAM sort of unnecessary?
