The night George and Amal Clooney met sounds pretty dang magical ― at least the way George’s dad Nick describes it.

The pair ― who welcomed twins Ella and Alexander earlier this month ― first met in 2013 at a dinner party also attended by the actor’s parents. Amal just so happened to tag along with a mutual friend.

In a new interview with People, Clooney’s father says the whole family was immediately smitten with the 39-year-old international human rights lawyer.

“[George’s mother] Nina and I were actually the ones who answered the door when Amal came in,” said Nick, a former journalist who once ran for Congress. “She introduced herself to us and we talked. She was obviously very charming, gorgeous and so clearly accomplished, but by the time we had supper that night, it was clear there was a kindness to her and an inclusiveness.”

Of course, George, 56, fell the hardest.

“By the end of supper, I started looking over at Nina and saying, ‘Look ouuuut, this could be trouble for this young man!’” Nick told People.

“I really think by the time that first [meeting] was over, his and her fates were sealed, both of them,” he added. “She was so remarkable and he was so remarkable around her.”

The pair would go on to marry in star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy in September 2014.

Here’s proud papa Nick before his son’s wedding:

This isn’t the first time Nick has gushed about his son and favorite daughter-in-law. Last week, he chatted about the couple and the newborn twins in an interview with Cincinnati WXIX.

Just two hours after the infants were born in the U.K., George and Amal Skyped Nick and Nina, who live in Kentucky.

“They are gorgeous. Nina swears they have George’s nose,” Nick, 83, said in a phone interview. “Not both of them — one of them. The little boy looked like he had [George’s] nose, his little profile.”

Never stop oversharing, Nick Clooney.

What Archibald’s Does Differently From Every Other BBQ Spot

Check out the full Periscope footage here:

Though Archibald’s is located firmly in the Deep South, its barbecue techniques are anything but southern.

The Archibald family has long bucked the traditional slow fire method of their BBQ peers — they take the opposite approach, cooking their meats for 45 minutes over hickory wood at a very high heat. The approach has clearly worked, as Archibald’s has an extremely loyal legion of followers, with customers that even span multiple generations.

Some come for the meat, and others for the thin, tangy sauce with a kick which is so popular it is for sale by the gallon. The charred, slightly spicy, sauce-slathered ribs are the star here, earning multiple awards for the best in the state. But don’t expect to eat them in an ultra-cushy setting.

The original location of Archibald’s is housed in an old cinderblock shack, with a seating capacity of about eleven (all stools), plus some picnic tables. Any local will tell you that it’s all part of the quintessential Archibald’s experience.

Pro tip: The banana pudding is not to be missed.

The 'Dodgeball' Cast Reunites For What's Basically 'Dodgeball 2'

The thought of getting an actual “Dodgeball 2” is really a true underdog story.

In lieu of that, the cast of “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” has reunited for a four-minute video that’s essentially a sequel to the film.

In the new video from Omaze, Ben Stiller meets up with Vince Vaughn, Justin Long and Christine Taylor ― despite the pair’s recent real-life separation ― in honor of an upcoming dodgeball game for charity.

You can get involved, too. In between getting back into their movie characters and hitting Justin Long in the head with a wrench, Stiller and the others implore people to enter online for a chance to play dodgeball with them and support the The Stiller Foundation

Taylor Lautner Has Been 'Like A Husband' To Girlfriend Billie Lourd

In December, actress Billie Lourd lost both her mother Carrie Fisher and her grandmother Debbie Reynolds just one day apart

In the wake of their sudden deaths, Lourd and her uncle Todd Fisher ― Carrie’s brother ― have leaned on each other heavily. And it seems Lourd has also found an incredibly supportive partner in boyfriend and “Scream Queens” costar Taylor Lautner.

In an interview with E! News, Fisher said he always tends to be “suspicious of the guy hanging around [his] niece,” and yet had nothing but wonderful things to say about Lautner.

“The truth of the matter is, the guy is pretty spectacular,” Fisher said. “He’s a really deep person, and he has supported her amazingly. He’s stepped up and acted like a husband would act. Not that that’s what’s going on, but it’s just an amazing support system for her, and I’m glad he’s in her life.”

On December 27 ― the day the “Star Wars” actress died ― Lautner posted a sweet photo with Lourd on Instagram with a caption that read, “This girl is one of the strongest, most fearless individuals I’ve ever met. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. I’m lucky to know you @praisethelourd. ❤️, me.”

The “Twilight” actor was also in attendance at the memorial and funeral for Fisher and Reynolds in January. The following week, Lautner and Lourd vacationed together in Mexico, further sparking rumors of a romance. And the pair has been spending a lot of quality time together ever since.

Could these two be any cuter? #LourdandTaylor forevermore!

Mom Explains How Giving Birth Helped Her Learn To Love Her Body

A California mom’s side-by-side photos show how much she’s changed in 10 years ― and how much she’s learned to love her body.

Lindsay Wolf, an actress and writer, shared two side-by-side photos on Instagram on June 5. The first photo shows her at 23 years old, and in the caption, Wolf wrote that she was self-conscious then and “critical of her physical shape.” The second photo shows her at 33. Wolf wrote that the pic captures a “woman who is learning to love her body without pressuring it to be anything other than what it is.”

“And in the process, she is healing a lifelong struggle of never fully seeing herself for the extraordinary human being she is,” she wrote.

Wolf, who has an 11-year-old stepdaughter and a 19-month-old daughter, told HuffPost she felt motivated to share the post because her journey to completely loving her body has been “20 years in the making.” After she gave birth, she wasn’t actively attempting to make herself smaller for the first time in her life, which marked an incredible turning point for the way she viewed her body.

“It took becoming pregnant and watching my body support a baby, along with a weight gain of almost 50 pounds over the course of 20 years, to realize that my body is just right exactly as it is,” she told HuffPost.

Wolf said a photo her husband took immediately after she gave birth reflects the pride and appreciation she had learned to have for her body.

“I’m grinning from ear to ear at him in the photo, because while my body looks vastly different than it ever has before, I was basking in the immediate pride of my body doing something truly magical,” she said. “This body of mine held and grew and pushed out my incredible daughter.”

Through her post, Wolf hopes other women learn to embrace their bodies, especially moms after they’ve given birth. She pointed out how many moms are encouraged to erase their pregnancies from their bodies as soon as they welcome their babies.

“It’s funny ― women are cherished while in their pregnant bodies. We are constantly told things like, ‘You’re glowing!’ and how beautiful we are in the state of pregnancy,” she told HuffPost. “But it seems like as soon as we’ve transitioned into full motherhood mode, the appreciation for what our bodies continue to be capable of ― and how they look ― goes completely away.”

Though she’s focusing on moving forward, Wolf said if she could go back and tell her 23-year-old self anything, she’d tell her she is “so much more than her physical body.” She’d also tell her that one day she would learn to love herself unconditionally despite the harmful things she heard and damaging pressures she faced growing up.

“Most importantly, I’d tell her that she couldn’t control how others viewed and commented on her body growing up and that those destructive words slung at her body had nothing to do with her and everything to do with how little we are taught to love ourselves,” she said. “But it is now her responsibility to love herself as fiercely as she can.”

These Are The People Wounded In The Alexandria Baseball Shooting

A top House Republican is among the five people wounded after a gunman opened fire on a Congressional baseball practice in Virginia Wednesday morning, leaving two people in critical condition.

Majority Whip Steve Scalise, 51, of Louisiana, and Zachary Barth, a legislative correspondent to Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), were among those transported to area hospitals from the Alexandria field, authorities said.

Matt Mika, a lobbyist for Tyson Chicken, and Capitol Police Officers Krystal Griner and David Bailey were also hospitalized following the shooting. Mika and Scalise were reported to be in critical condition.

An FBI press release Wednesday afternoon identified the shooter as James Hodgkinson, 66. Griner and Bailey reportedly exchanged gunfire with Hodgkinson, who was wounded and later died of his injuries.

Mika’s family released a statement Wednesday confirming that he “was shot multiple times, is in critical condition, and is currently in surgery.”

Tyson Foods also released a statement on Mika. “Matt has worked for Tyson Foods for more than six years and we’re deeply concerned about him and his family,” it said in part.

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) lauded Griner and Bailey as “heroes” during a statement on the floor that afternoon.

“I spoke with Special Agent Bailey and Special Agent Griner earlier this morning. One was being treated and one was about to go into surgery,” Ryan said. “I expressed our profound gratitude to them. It is clear to me that based on various eyewitness accounts that without these two heroes, Agent Bailey and Agent Griner, many lives would have been lost.”

Bailey has been a Capitol Police officer for nine years. He also spent three years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, according to a LinkedIn profile under his name.

The two officers are in good condition and are expected to make a full recovery, Capitol Police Chief Matthew Verderosa said at a press conference.

Barth has been hospitalized in stable condition and is “doing well,” according to Williams.

“He is receiving medical attention but is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery,” the Texas congressman tweeted. “We ask that you please respect the privacy of him and his family during this difficult time.”

Communication specialist Leslie Hagar Small identified Barth as an intern for the 2016 presidential campaign of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R).

“Zack Barth was one of our best Jeb interns on the campaign,” she tweeted. “He would stay and work until 8, 9, 10 pm because he loved the work and the Gov.”

Bush also tweeted that his “prayers are with Zach and everyone hurt in this morning’s shooting.”

Scalise was at second base when he was shot in the hip, according to Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), who was at the scene. Scalise was able to drag himself away. Brooks later described using his belt as a tourniquet on a wounded staffer

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who was also at the scene, credited Capitol Police for their swift response.

“Absolutely no one would have survived without Capitol Hill Police,” he told CNN. “It would have been a massacre without them.”

Micosoft’s AI earns perfect Ms Pac-Man score
