Last year Microsoft launched the Xbox Design Lab which basically gave gamers a way to customize their Xbox controllers. However in case the options presented to you weren’t enough, not to worry as Microsoft has since announced that they will be giving users expanded customization options moving forwards.
According to Microsoft, “Today, we’re excited to announce that we are adding even more customization options based on fan feedback, now giving you over a billion design combinations to choose from. We’ve also refreshed the design interface for a more seamless experience and will be launching Xbox Design Lab to more countries starting today.”
For those unfamiliar, the Xbox Design Lab previously allowed gamers to customize the look of their Xbox controllers, changing the color of the buttons, the controller itself, the D-pad, and so on. With the expanded options, Microsoft will be adding more color options, new thumbstick colors, new metallic finishes for the D-pad and triggers, and also the option to add black rubberized grips for better control and comfort.
Microsoft has also announced the expansion of the Xbox Design Lab to the UK, France, and Germany (earlier this year they stated that there were no plans to expand yet, but looking back we guess they didn’t want to announce it yet). This expansion will continue to other countries in Europe this summer, so head on over to its website if you’d like to start customizing your controllers with the new options.

Car services such as Uber and Lyft are interested in self-driving technology and it’s hardly a secret. In fact Lyft has partnered up with quite a few companies such as GM and more recently, Alphabet’s Waymo. Now it looks like the company will be entering a new partnership with none other than Jaguar Land Rover.
The company has recently managed to raise a whopping $600 million funding and as it turns out, $25 million came from Jaguar Land Rover who not only invested in the company, but also provided them with a fleet of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles for use with their drivers, and will also be working with them on developing and testing autonomous vehicles.
According to John Zimmer, Lyft’s President and co-founder, “We’re excited to join forces with Jaguar Land Rover and InMotion. Lyft envisions a future where shared mobility will transform cities and improve people’s lives. This partnership will help us achieve that ambitious goal.” It is an interesting move by Lyft which seems to be going in a different direction compared to the competition such as Uber.
Uber appears to be interested in pursuing the development of the technology by themselves, while Lyft on the other hand appears to be seeking partnerships with companies already developing the technology rather than to pursue it themselves. Whether or not this approach will be more successful remains to be seen.

Whether or not you consider yourself to be an expert in interior design or art, there’s a good chance you might have heard of the Herman Miller name, a name synonymous with one of the more iconic pieces of office furniture in the form of the Aeron office chair. Now it looks like the company wants to kick things up a notch by making its furniture “smarter”.
To that end, the company has announced that they will begin selling sensors that can be attached to various furnitures and collect anonymized data with regards to usage. For example these sensors can be used to tell which areas are used the most, which could help with certain decisions.
Herman Miller will also be creating a sensor designed for sit-to-stand desks in which it will be able to track how often its user changes position. Given that there have been articles claiming that sitting too long is detrimental to health, it could provide a way for users to keep track of their sitting and standing times, maybe even set goals via an accompanying app, or reminders if they’ve been sitting for too long.
Interestingly enough it seems that Herman Miller’s solution is not a one-off solution. The sensors are said to cost around $100 each and the software that goes with it will cost $36 per desk per year. This is because the system will run independently from the client’s IT network for apparent security reasons. Based on this it sounds like Herman Miller’s target market is more towards the enterprise rather than for users at home.

So we know for sure that the OnePlus 5 is in the works and that it will be officially announced next week. Also so far based on the tweets, the design of the phone has been revealed and it appears that the phone will be packing a dual camera setup and in a recent post on Weibo by the company’s CEO (via Android Headlines), we have an idea of what to expect in terms of quality.
From what we can tell from the photo, it seems that the camera is capable of snapping some pretty sharp photos. We’re not sure if there has been any further editing or enhancements made to the photo following its capture, but for now it looks pretty good. There is also nice separation of the foreground and background, which presumably is thanks to its dual camera system.
Unfortunately in terms of megapixels and resolution, those details are still a mystery as the image uploaded has been stripped of its EXIF data, presumably on purpose so as not to give all the secrets away, although we did hear that the sensor could be of the 16MP variety, but take that with a grain of salt for now.
There is a bit of excitement surrounding the handset at the moment as it could be the company’s most powerful device to date, not to mention its most expensive as we have heard that it could see an increase in price over the previous model.

Publishers and developers typically release deluxe and collector’s editions of games where they will usually include things like artbooks, an official soundtrack, bonus in-game items, and so on, and for the most part these collector editions will run for a little more than the regular version of the game.
However in Ubisoft’s case, it seems that the collector’s edition of Assassin’s Creed Origins will cost gamers much, much more than one might expect. Dubbed Dawn of the Creed Legendary Edition, it seems that this particular collector’s edition will be costing gamers a whopping $800 to own, although given that price tag we reckon that this is probably aimed at the more hardcore fans of the franchise.
So what do you get for $800? You will get a Gold Steelbook Edition of the game, a 28.7-inch statue of the game’s protagonist Bayek and his eagle Senu, a world map, four lithographs that have been signed by Ubisoft Montreal studio’s artists, a soundtrack for the game, a season pass, an art book, art cards, and Bayek’s eagle amulet.
Is this worth $800? We guess that will depend on gamers, but like we said at that price point, it seems like it would be catered more towards the more ardent fans of the franchise or collectors who love collecting limited edition things.
