Andy Cohen: Donald Trump Is A Season 1 ‘Real Housewife'

Andy Cohen says there are similarities between President Donald Trump and the stars of his “Real Housewives” show.

On Wednesday’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the TV producer likened Trump to someone who was appearing on the first season of the reality franchise.

“Usually they evolve as the years go and there’s a season one version who will do anything to stay on the show,” Cohen said.  By the second season, he said the stars had grown accustomed to their lives in the limelight and were “better.”

“But he’s (Trump) stuck in the season one housewife book,” he added.

Cohen also referenced a quote from Trump’s TIME magazine interview which he claimed wouldn’t sound out of place on the show:

The Nutritional Benefits Of Green Peas

There’s a reason your mom made you eat your peas when you were a kid.

This vegetable (which is actually a fruit, botanically speaking) might be small, but it turns out to be a nutritional powerhouse. Ever wonder how, exactly?

First off, they’re a good source of fiber.

Just a half cup of peas contains 4.4 grams of fiber. That’s even more than you’d get in a full cup of oatmeal. Fiber is important not only because it keeps you feeling fuller longer, but also because it lowers blood cholesterol levels.

Peas are a viable protein source.

Vegetarian protein isn’t always easy to find, but one cup of peas can boast nine grams of protein. That’s why protein powders are being made out of peas ― such as Naked Pea protein powder.

And they’re chock-full of vitamins.

We’re talking A, B-1, B-6, C, and an impressive serving of vitamin K (which is crucial for maintaining bone health). Just one cup of peas provides 40 percent of your recommended vitamin K intake.

Frozen peas are just as good as fresh, nutritionally speaking.

We’ll always be fans of the fresh ones that come around in the spring, but we’re ever so grateful that we can keep a bag of frozen peas in our freezer at all times. In fact, frozen peas are just as healthy as eating freshly-picked peas because they’re often frozen when just picked.

And as an added bonus, the frozen ones make a great, quick snack eaten straight from the bag. (Try it, you’ll see.)

Now, go eat your peas!

Trevor Noah Explains How Eric Trump Got Like This

After a report alleged that Eric Trump’s charity foundation funneled donations from a benefit golf tournament for pediatric cancer to the Trump Organization, Trevor Noah on Wednesday analyzed this apparent act of greed.

Eric Trump denies the allegations, but where could the second son of President Donald Trump have learned such “heartless” behavior, “The Daily Show” host asked.

OK, it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, but it takes a comedian to bring it home.

“This is the curse of being one of Donald Trump’s children,” Noah said. “You can try and be good but he’ll be like, ‘No, no, no, don’t do that. You’re a Trump.’ And now Eric might as well be one of Trump’s buildings. He’s not as popular as he once was and if you look deep, you’ll find that he’s also empty on the inside.”

The Morning After: Thursday, June 8th 2017

Welcome to your Thursday morning. Want more Instagram likes? Russia has a vending machine for that. Want to stream Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for free, through a tenuous branding exercise with a pizza chain? I think we know the answer. Chicka chicka.

Super Nintendo World’s main attraction will be Mario Kart

It’s cool to be Nintendo again, in no small part thanks to the success of the Nintendo Switch. Perhaps it would have been a different story if the Switch became an embarrassment instead. Perhaps Nintendo would have shelved its plans for theme parks then. But since that gloomy scenario didn’t come to pass, it’s full steam ahead for the first … Continue reading

Stephen Colbert Likens James Comey's Dinner With Donald Trump To 'Jurassic Park'

Late Show” host Stephen Colbert thinks fired FBI Director James Comey’s dinner with President Donald Trump was straight out of a movie.

Namely, “Jurassic Park.”

In written testimony released Wednesday, Comey revealed how he’d reacted to Trump’s demand for personal loyalty during a meal shortly after the president’s inauguration.

“I didn’t move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed,” Comey wrote.

Colbert summed up the scenario perfectly on Wednesday’s show.

Basically, Comey treated Trump like the T-Rex in ‘Jurassic Park,’” the comedian said. “It makes sense. They both have the same sized hands.”

Seth Meyers Has A Message For Trump After Reading Comey's Planned Testimony

Seth Meyers had one response for Donald Trump after recapping the opening statement former FBI director James Comey had prepared ahead of his Senate hearing:

Comey will testify before a Senate hearing on Thursday, giving his first public comments since the president abruptly fired him in May. The former FBI director was leading the bureau’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties with Russia ― a case Comey says the president asked him to drop.

On Wednesday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the host said the former FBI director’s statement detailing repeated one-on-one meetings and one incredibly awkward private dinner between him and the president read more like a Lifetime movie in the making, with Trump attempting to get Comey to pledge his loyalty and cease the investigation.

Country Music Awards Open With Powerful Gregg Allman Tribute

Wednesday night’s Country Music Awards opened with a star-studded tribute to music legend Gregg Allman, who died last month at the age of 69.

So when the awards show opened with Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley singing the 1971 Allman Brothers Band classic “Midnight Rider,” viewers knew they were in for a treat.

As the song continued, former Allman Brothers Band member Derek Trucks joined in with a guitar solo.
