It’s not something we think about, but our pools can be a real danger to wildlife. The $30 FrogLog aims to help with this problem. It’s an inflatable escape ramp that attaches to the side of a swimming pool so that small animals that find their way into in the pool can get back out and not die.
If you own a pool, the FrogLog is a good idea – if you care about wildlife that is. If you don’t than you are a big meanie. Even the meanest of you would still get sick of fishing dead frogs and lizards out of your pool, I imagine.
So get a FrogLog. It Just sounds cool on your tongue. FrogLog… FrogLog… Now it has loss meaning. FrogLog. Nope, still sounds awesome.

The OnePlus 5 has officially gone on sale and for the most part, the handset is still relatively affordable when you consider that other flagship handsets are priced several hundred dollars above it. However at the same time it isn’t exactly what one would call cheap either, but for our readers in Europe, not to worry.
It seems that over in Europe, OnePlus has launched a trade-in program in which customers can trade in an older phone or tablet when purchasing the OnePlus 5. They will then receive a cashback within the next 5 months that pretty much offsets part of the price of the phone. This isn’t an immediate trade-in where the value is deducted from the price of the phone, meaning that you’ll still have to pay the full price upfront, but ultimately you will get your money back.
So how much will you get? This will depend on your phone model and the condition it is in. For example an iPhone 7 Plus with 256GB of storage that’s in almost perfect condition without any damages and is fully operational will net about £300 in trade-in value. We wouldn’t exactly call that a lot and you might be better off selling it on your own and using the money to go towards the OnePlus 5.
However if you have an older device that’s lying around collecting dust and you want a way to get rid of it and maybe knock a couple of bucks off the OnePlus 5, we guess this could work. For more details head on over to OnePlus’ website.

Google is a company that wears many hats, so many hats in fact that they’ve had to create a new parent company, Alphabet, to house all the different products and services that Google has created over the years. One of those services that Google created is a comparison shopping service, and it seems that Google has landed into a spot of trouble with the EU over it.
The EU’s antitrust regulator has recently announced that they will be fining Google a whopping $2.7 billion for allegedly abusing its dominance as a search engine, and in doing so it gave their own comparison shopping service an advantage over the competition. This is according to Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
Vestager was quoted as saying, “Google has come up with many innovative products and services that have made a difference to our lives. That’s a good thing. But Google’s strategy for its comparison shopping service wasn’t just about attracting customers by making its product better than those of its rivals. Instead, Google abused its market dominance as a search engine by promoting its own comparison shopping service in its search results, and demoting those of competitors.”
Vestager adds, “What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules. It denied other companies the chance to compete on the merits and to innovate. And most importantly, it denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation.” The commission has also given Google 90 days to stop its “illegal conduct” and to tweak its algorithm to ensure that all services are equally favored in the search results.
Unsurprisingly Google has denied these allegations and in a statement made by the company, “We respectfully disagree with the conclusions announced today. We will review the Commission’s decision in detail as we consider an appeal, and we look forward to continuing to make our case.”

At E3 earlier this month, Bethesda announced Skyrim VR. At its core this is the Skyrim that gamers know and love, but with a twist being that it is playable in VR. This means that players will be thrust into the game’s virtual world in a more immersive manner compared to playing behind a computer monitor.
The game was initially announced for the PlayStation VR, but the good news is that according to GameSpot in the video above (via Upload VR), Bethesda has confirmed that the game will also be released on the HTC Vive. Unfortunately for PC gamers the HTC Vive version of the game will only be released in 2018, so it looks like gamers will have a bit of waiting to do.
This is actually rather exciting news because as we have seen in the past, there are PC mods for Skyrim that takes the game’s graphics to a whole new level. We’re not sure if those mods are applicable to Skyrim VR (we’re guessing no), but with PCs having the potential to be more powerful than consoles, we expect that HTC Vive version of Skyrim VR could result in a more realistic and immersive experience.
Bethesda did previously state that they plan to bring their other VR games, such as Fallout 4 VR and Doom VFR to as many platforms as possible, but for now Skyrim VR is the only one that has been confirmed for the HTC Vive.

Earlier this year actor Ben Affleck announced that he would no longer be directing the solo Batman movie. Following this announcement, there were then subsequent rumors and whisperings that Affleck might not even be playing Batman at all, but that is a rumor that has since been quashed.
In a report from IGN, it seems that Affleck has been confirmed to star in the solo Batman movie, which is good or bad news depending on who you ask. Many had initially balked at the idea of Affleck taking on the role of the caped crusader when it was first announced, but that stance has softened somewhat following the release of the movies.
Matt Reeves will be the new director behind the Batman movie as it was announced back in February. Unfortunately a release date for the movie has yet to be set, but last we heard production might not start until next year, meaning that we might only see the solo Batman film in 2019.
In the meantime Affleck will be reprising his role as Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie that is currently on track for a release on the 17th of November later this year. So what do you guys think? Yay or nay that Affleck will continue donning the Batman cape and cowl for a while more?
