Meizu PRO 7 second screen might have colors after all

The Meizu PRO 7, when it comes out in the next or so months, is going to be one strange phone. That’s going to be true whether this latest bit comes to pass or not. Putting a second screen on a phone’s back isn’t exactly new. There’s even a Kickstarter for offering something similar for the iPhone 7 pair. But … Continue reading

Tweaked Facebook Aquila drone aces latest test flight after crash lessons

It’s fair to say that Facebook’s Aquila drone hasn’t had an easy time in early trials to get the internet-broadcasting unmanned craft safely into the air and back down to the ground again. After a successful first flight in July 2016, which saw a full-sized version of the drone design take to the skies for the first time, the social … Continue reading

Upgrade the Zoom Function and Improve Your Smartphone’s Photography

Today’s smartphones take great pictures up close, but their zoom capability could definitely use an upgrade. The 8x Telephoto Smartphone Lens will improve your photography game by, well, eight times. And it’s yours for only $12.99 (USD).

You’ve probably noticed that if you zoom in on your smartphone when taking a photo, the picture frequently turns out blurry. That’s because the zoom is being done digitally, and not optically. This easily removable telephoto lens changes that, allowing you to get clear images up to 8 times closer. Whether you’re trying to capture the beautiful details of a flower or an animal in the distance, you’ll be glad you have this lens to help you out.

Get more beautiful pictures for just $12.99 in the Technabob Shop.

Steampunk “Entropy Calibrator” Watch Looks Like it Runs on Steam

Steampunk fans needing a cool watch to go with a costume or just wanting something to wear around all the time will want to check out this Entropy Calibrator watch. It looks like something the main character in an HG Wells book would wear while on a time jaunt.

The watch has 36mm diameter face, which displays the current state of the Galvanic Scale of Temporal Decay. If you don’t know how to use that, then perhaps you shouldn’t be messing with this watch and screwing up the fabric of the space-time continuum. It also has a quartz movement, and is made from weathered English pewter to give it an aged look.

It’s not actually powered by steam – it runs on a normal watch battery. It does, however, have a cool hatch over the face to keep the steam pressure in anyhow.

It’s not cheap at $309.99(USD) on ThinkGeek, but cool stuff never is.
