Razer Unveils Destiny 2 Branded Gaming Gear

While the first Destiny game did not support the PC, Bungie was quick to correct this with Destiny 2 which will not only be the first Destiny game to be launched on the PC, but will also be the first non-Blizzard title to be available via the Battle.net launcher (Activision being its publisher probably has something to do with that).

That being said if you’re a fan of the Destiny franchise and wouldn’t mind getting your hands on new gaming gear, the folks at Razer have recently taken the wraps off several Destiny 2 branded gaming peripherals. Note that not all of them are necessarily exclusive for the PC, so there should be something for everyone.

Starting with the headphones, there will be a Destiny 2 ManO’War Tournament Edition analog gaming headset. It features black and white accents, with the Destiny logo emblazoned on the earcups. There will also be the Destiny 2 Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard which combines both membrane rubber domes and mechanical keyboard switches.

There will also be a Destiny 2 Deathadder Elite gaming mouse, and a Destiny 2 Razer Goliathus mousepad accompanying it. These peripherals aren’t available for purchase yet but gamers who are interested can sign up to be notified when it does go on sale.

Game Of Thrones Season 7 Premiere Causes Traffic For Porn To Dip

Last Sunday marked the launch of HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere. Given that the show launched later than the previous seasons, it’s safe to say that fans have been highly-anticipating the launch, especially when we are so close towards the end and finding out what happens to everyone and everything.

In fact it seems that the launch of the Season 7 premiere was so big and so impactful to the point where it looks like traffic for porn actually took a hit on that day itself. According to a report from Pornhub (via Mashable), traffic to the website dipped by 4.5% during the premiere of the episode.

According to Pornhub, “That’s a considerable change in visitors as Sunday night is one of the most popular times for people to visit Pornhub.” This is a bigger dip compared to the previous season which saw a dip of 4.1% on its first episode, and a 5.2% dip on the last episode, which has us wondering if the last episode for Season 7 could have a bigger impact on porn traffic compared to the previous year.

It is safe to say that Game of Thrones has had a huge impact on our society and culture today, and we guess how it has impacted the porn viewing habits of users is an example of that.

HBO Keeping A Close Eye On Game Of Thrones Pirates

Given that not everyone subscribes to HBO, it is astounding how many fans of Game of Thrones are out there. However considering that the series is one of the most pirated series of all time, it makes a lot of sense, but HBO is certainly not taking too kindly to this. A report from TorrentFreak reveals that HBO is keeping a close eye on pirates.

According to the report, just hours after the launch of the Season 7 premiere, HBO’s anti-piracy monitoring partner IP Echelon had started to send thousands of warning letters to those caught pirating the show through torrents. The warning letters are pretty standard in terms of their content, which reads (in part), “We have information leading us to believe that the IP address xx.xxx.xxx.xx was used to download or share Game of Thrones without authorization.”

However it seems that due to copyright law, ISPs are not obligated to forward these emails to their users, although there are many who do out of courtesy to these rightsholders. Whether or not legal action will be taken remains to be seen, especially since the number of pirates spread out across various torrent websites and networks is probably too many to try and take to court at once.

Not to mention they would not know who is actually the pirate, since they can only track the IP address which could be shared by multiple users at home. However this doesn’t make it right, but we reckon that HBO has an obligation to try and curb as much of it as possible.

Samsung Confirms Note 8’s Announcement For August 23

There has been a lot of speculation about when the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be announced. Samsung had previously confirmed that it would be taking place towards the end of August, and sure enough it looks like that is exactly what will be happening. Samsung has recently sent out invites to an event that will be taking place on the 23rd of August.

If you’re wondering why this date sounds so familiar, it is because this is a date that was previously rumored, and it turned out to be true. The invite doesn’t tell us when the phone will be available, but presumably it will be revealed at the event itself. While Samsung does not explicitly mention the Note 8, it is pretty clear from the invite what the event will be about.

It’s hard to tell what the Note 8 will look like based on the invite, but it does seem to tease that the phone could be bigger than its predecessor. As it stands its predecessor, the ill-fated Note 7, had a 5.7-inch display. However with the launch of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, both phones feature displays larger than the Note 7, which means that apart from the S Pen, Samsung needs another way to differentiate the phones.

This is why we have heard that Samsung could be bumping the display size up to 6.4-inches instead. However with its presumably thinner bezels, the phone shouldn’t feel too big in your hands, but we guess we’ll just have to wait and see for when the time comes.

Nintendo Trademark Hints At Possible Nintendo 64 Classic

We are starting to see a pattern with Nintendo. Last year the company launched the NES Classic which they then discontinued, much to the disappointment and surprise of many. However there was speculation that the reason was to make way for the SNES Classic, which ultimately proved to be true.

Based on this, it stands to reason that the next move by Nintendo could be to release a Nintendo 64 Classic after the SNES Classic, and it seems that there is evidence of that happening. This is based on a recent trademark filed by Nintendo and reported by the folks at Polygon.

The trademark filed is for an abstract image of the Nintendo 64’s controller, and while it might seem pretty innocent, a NeoGAF user discovered other trademarks for the NES and SNES, in which similar abstract controller drawings were found. This is significant because as Polygon points out, this is pretty much the logo that Nintendo uses for its Classics range.

If the assumptions are correct, then it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that a N64 Classic could be in the works for 2018. Of course we could be wrong, but the evidence is pretty strong, but what do you guys think? Is a N64 Classic in the works for 2018?
