Proving that they are on the bleeding edge of technology, Atari has announced that it’s working on a new line of wearables. The first product in the “Atari Connected Life” line? A Speakerhat, powered by Audiowear. I’ve never seen that before.
The Speakerhat is a baseball cap with embedded high quality speakers in its bill, and a microphone that uses Bluetooth to connect to devices. Atari also promises “a fundamentally new social audio experience” with Multiplayer Mode. This basically lets multiple users listen to a single audio stream via Bluetooth. Ummm, okay. People have been gathering around speakers for years already.
They also announced that they are partnering with NECA, a company that makes collectibles, to introduce a limited edition Blade Runner 2049 Speakerhat this fall. Cool, I guess.
