Kingdom Hearts 3’s Producer Clarifies Statement On A Switch Port

The other day following the launch of the new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3, the game’s producer Tetsuya Nomura was interviewed in which he spoke about the possibility of the game arriving for the Nintendo Switch. According to the translation, Nomura was quoted as saying that the Switch port would only be considered after the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game was launched.

However it seems that there might been something lost in translation. According to DualShockers, they are reporting on a new interview with Nomura with Famitsu where he clarified some of his statements, which apparently have been misinterpreted. According to Nomura, basically he said in the original interview that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are a top priority at the moment.

He also did not single out the Switch specifically when asked about ports, but rather he talked about other platforms in general, and how they might be considered once the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are done. This was said to clarify reports that he might have “promised” the Switch version once the PS4 and Xbox One versions are completed, which is not the case.

Of course Switch gamers are clearly hoping that this will be the case, but only time will tell.

Rare, Sealed NES Game ‘Stadium Events’ Sells For $42,000

Old video games might not necessarily look the best, but they represent a piece of gaming history, which is why sometimes older games can fetch a pretty penny. In fact recently it seems that a rare and sealed copy of NES game “Stadium Events” managed to fetch close to $42,000 after being sold to a serious buyer.

According to Kotaku, the seller had originally tried to sell the game on eBay where someone actually won the bid, but apparently the winner of the bid decided not to pay for it. Thankfully the seller was contacted by a “serious buyer” and a deal was struck. What makes Stadium Events so valuable is the fact that the game was only released for a very short period of time before it was pulled and replaced with “World Class Track Meet”.

This means that there aren’t that many copies of the game in the world, and what made this auction fetch such a high price was due to the fact that the game was still in its original packaging and sealed, which in an assessment by Video Game Authority saw the game rate 85 out of 100, giving it a near mint condition. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the game fetching an absurd amount, and we expect that we’ll be hearing more stories like this in the future.

Mira Prism – a Daydream for augmented reality and iPhones

When Oculus gave virtual reality its second chance in the consumer market, it was largely expected that VR would be limited to powerful and expensive gear. Google, however, begged to differ and, thanks to Cardboard and now Daydream, it put VR into the hands, and heads, of anyone with a smartphone. Now a startup has envisioned a similar revolution, but … Continue reading

Intel Has Reportedly Disbanded Its Wearable Division

When Intel acquired Basis, it appeared as though the company was interested in pursuing the wearables market. However according to a report from CNBC (via AppleInsider), the publication cited sources who claims that Intel has apparently disbanded its wearable division where the company will now apparently focus on augmented reality.

If this sounds familiar, it is because earlier this year during CES, Intel’s VP of wearables seemed to suggest that Intel could be moving away from making their own wearables and instead focus on partnerships/collaborations. The latest report from CNBC seems to have all but confirmed it, except that Intel seems to be out of the wearables game for now.

In fact there have been signs that this was an inevitability. CNBC quotes a TechCrunch article from back in November last year which said that Intel was taking a step back from wearables. This was after their plans for the Basis fitness watch did not pan out the way that they had hoped. The company at that time had denied that they stepping back, but given that we have since seen a lack of new wearables from the company, it is clear that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Intel has yet to comment on CNBC’s report or issue an official statement, so for now we guess you should probably take it with a grain of salt.
