Plans For ‘Mega Man’ Movie Reportedly Moving Forward

Back in 2015, we heard reports that apparently 20th Century Fox and Capcom had plans to make a Mega Man movie. Fast forward to 2017 and nothing concrete has surfaced, but apparently that is set to change soon. In a report from The Hollywood Reporter, it seems that plans for the movie are now moving forward.

The report claims that Chernin Entertainment will be the one producing the movie, and that filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who were behind the ‘Catfish’ documentary, will be the ones most likely to direct and write the film. It hasn’t been confirmed yet as negotiations are still in progress but are close to being finalized.

It has also been revealed that Heroes and Hawaii Five-0 star Masi Oka will be starring in the film, although exactly what role he will be playing remains to be seen. Mega Man is a video game that was introduced by Capcom back in 1987. Its popularity has since seen the franchise expand to comics and manga adaptations, as well as being featured in other games, like the Marvel VS Capcom mashups, and also Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.

There is no word on when this Mega Man movie will be released, but judging by how things have yet to be finalized, there is a good chance that we might have to wait a while before we see it.

Apple Unveils New Special Edition Beats Headphones With Balmain

Apple’s interest in merging tech and fashion is hardly a secret, especially when you consider that over the past few years, Apple has hired quite a few executives who have had extensive experience in the fashion industry. Let’s not forget that the Apple Watch is also being positioned as a fashion accessory, thanks to Apple’s collaboration with fashion labels such as Hermes.

This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Apple is trying to take on the fashion world again, and this time with a pair of special edition Beats headphones that was designed in collaboration with designer label Balmain, where they have also enlisted model Kylie Jenner who you can see in the image above donning the pair of Beats headphones.

The new Apple x Balmain Beats headphones come in a signature finish which they are calling Safari, which basically appears to be light pink mixed with some gold accents. The headphones will also come in a special suede Balmain case that comes with the Balmain logo and zipper. It is also probably why the headphones are priced slightly higher than usual.

The Balmain Powerbeats 3 Wireless Earphones will be priced at $249 while the Balmain Beats Studio Wireless Over-Ear Headphones will retail for $599. Are these worth it? We guess it depends on how much you like the brand/design, but they are available for purchase if you want.

Qualcomm Brings Its Lawsuit With Apple To Germany

Recently Qualcomm’s CEO expressed his hope that the legal battle between them and Apple could be settled out of court. While that has yet to happen, it seems that the company is wasting no time in putting the pressure on Apple to potentially arrive at a settlement, especially since they have recently taken the legal battle to Germany.

According to a report from dpa (via AppleInsider), Qualcomm is now suing Apple in Germany over two patents that they are alleging that Apple has infringed upon. The patents in question cover battery efficiency technology, with Qualcomm seeking to end all imports of the iPhone into the region.

This is somewhat similar to the request that Qualcomm had filed with the ITC in which they were hoping to ban the imports of the iPhone into the US. The lawsuit between both companies have been ongoing for a while now and it looks like they are only just heating up. However Apple isn’t alone in this as others have filed lawsuits against Qualcomm as well, such as the FTC.

Whether or not this new lawsuit will force Apple to settle with Qualcomm remains to be seen, but given that we’ve seen how Apple has stood their ground against the likes of Samsung for many years, it seems unlikely.

Apple Co-Founder Thinks The iPhone Is Worth Its Price

Apple’s iPhones aren’t cheap, and there have been many jokes made in the past about how Apple customers are paying more for “less”. That’s not a perception that is going to change anytime soon, especially when you consider the rumors that the upcoming iPhone 8 could cost upwards of $1,000.

However it seems that there is at least one person who thinks that the iPhone’s price is worth it. Speaking at a tech conference in Guangdong, China, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was quoted as saying that he thinks that the iPhone’s hefty price tag is worth it, especially when you think about its quality.

In a report from the South China Morning Post, Wozniak was quoted as saying, “Here’s is what I admire about Chinese phones: really good intelligent decisions about how to lower the cost but keep enough of the functionality. In life, I don’t believe in quantity as much as I do in quality. So (Apple) may not have the hugest share in the market, but you should have the best product you can possibly build and Apple qualifies for that.”

However at the end of the day, we suppose it depends on why you would pay so much, but do you agree with Wozniak’s assessment of the iPhone, and whether or not it is worth the premium compared to other brands?

Samsung (Finally) Launches Bixby Voice In The US

Imagine a company launching a new product and boasting about a particular key feature, only for customers to discover that when they buy the product, the feature has yet to be launched/activated, or does not work as intended. That’s what we saw when Apple first introduced Siri, and that’s what happened with Samsung’s Bixby.

The Galaxy S8 was announced earlier this year with Bixby Ai digital assistant being one of its key features. However Bixby Voice, perhaps the “main” component of Bixby, was not launched together with the phone as Samsung was still working on it, but it seems that the wait is finally over as Samsung has officially announced that Bixby Voice is now available to users in the US.

According to Samsung, “Users can now use their voice to do many things they do with touch. Users can ask Bixby to complete simple tasks like turning on the flashlight, taking a screen shot, or taking a selfie. Bixby can complete more complex tasks like creating a photo album of all the pictures a user took last week and calling it ‘Vacation,’ and then sharing those photos with family and friends. Users can have Bixby remember things and remind, such as ‘remember this is where I parked,’ or ‘remind me to pick up eggs and milk at the grocery store.’”

If you’d like to start using Bixby Voice, users will need to get their hands on the Bixby update which should already be available, so once the software has been updated you’ll be good to go.
