You can now tell Cortana to ask Fitbit about your weight

With all the attention lavished on Alexa, Google Assistant, and, in a not so positive way, Bixby, it’s almost to easy to forget about Siri and, even more so, Cortana. Many might have forgotten that Microsoft just announced back in May its Cortana Skills, analogous to Alexa Skill and Assistant Actions. Which is probably why there are only 66. Actually, … Continue reading

Gamers File Lawsuit Against Niantic Over Failed Pokemon GO Fest

Recently to celebrate Pokemon GO turning 1 year old and to celebrate the launch of legendary Pokemon, Niantic decided to hold a Pokemon GO Fest in Chicago that gathered players together to make the game more social. Unfortunately did not exactly go the way Niantic had hoped, to the point where the company had no choice but to refund gamers the tickets.

Unfortunately this was not enough for some as nearly two dozen Pokemon GO gamers have since filed lawsuits against Niantic, seeking travel reimbursement for the event that some gamers travelled from out of town for. According to Chicago-based attorney Thomas Zimmerman, more than 20 gamers have since joined the class-action suit.

Zimmerman claims that the participants in the class-action lawsuit are only looking to be compensated to their time and travel. “We’re not seeking any relief with respect to the failure to get legendary Pokémon, because Niantic is offering that. But Niantic is not offering to refund people’s travel expenses for coming to Chicago. Most of the people came from out of state, many people from other countries — I talked to someone who flew in from Japan.”

Whether or not Niantic will decide to settle with these players remains to be seen. However the company has recently acknowledged that there were a few issues that contributed to the event’s failure, and stated that for future events they will ensure that they will be better prepared.
