Waze Android Auto hands-on: The reason for Android-in-the-car

Ask any Android Auto user what app they’ve been most eagerly awaiting, and the answer will probably be Waze. Sure, Google Maps is one of the best navigation apps around, but for the true road warrior there’s no replacing its speeding ticket-saving cousin. The good news is that Waze for Android Auto is here, and I’ve been testing it out … Continue reading

That Dad Screaming in Terror is the Most Watched Twitch Clip Ever

Remember that JurassicJunkie dude that I talked about yesterday? The one who screamed literally like a little girl when his toddler daughter walked into the room whilst he was playing horror game Outlast 2? Well, the clip has been very popular.

Twitch has now stated that this clip is the most viewed Twitch clip of all time with nearly 1.7 million views already. I think I am personally responsible for tens of those views. I laughed pretty hard.

Twitch won’t say what the second and third most viewed clips are. I’m not sure why we can’t know that info, if you can tell us the top viewed clip, why not others? People getting scared is almost as funny as dudes getting nads bashed in my book.

The UK Wants To Ban Petrol And Diesel Cars By 2040

We are starting to see more carmakers shifting from producing cars that only run on petrol or diesel, to hybrids that use a combination of gas and an electric motor, as well as cars that are fully electric, like those made by Tesla. However for the most part the choice is still largely in the hands of consumers, but that is expected to change in the future.

The UK government is currently planning to propose banning all petrol and diesel cars by 2040. This means that in the next 23 years, the UK expects that all cars, or at least a good majority, will be powered by electric or whatever technology that could replace electric. The UK government isn’t alone in this as carmaker Volvo had previously announced that starting in 2019, all of the cars it manufactures will be of the electric variety.

Whether or not this law will come to pass remains to be seen, but we suppose its effectiveness will also largely depend on car companies as well as customers. In the UK it has been estimated that electric car sales in the country only account for 1% of all car sales, which means that trying to ban 99% of the cars from being sold will be a tall order.

It has also been pointed out that the number of charging stations in the country, which is at 5,000, is a less more than half of petrol stations which is around 8,500. These are the sort of things that probably needs to be addressed if there is hope that more consumers will adopt electric cars moving forwards.
