Galaxy Note 8 hands-on: Enough to make you forget the Note 7

After the nightmare that was the Galaxy Note 7, few people would’ve been surprised if Samsung killed the Note line entirely. But it didn’t. As an insane number of leaks have suggested, the company still believes the world needs a high-end phablet wit…

The Galaxy Note 8's dual camera rivals the iPhone 7 Plus

Samsung may be late to the dual-camera game, but it seems to have put that extra time to good use. The Note 8 is the first major Galaxy handset to sport two rear cameras, with a setup that includes twin 12-megapixel sensors, one with wide-angle lens…

Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 packs a giant display and a smarter pen

It’s been a long, long year for Galaxy Note fans. The Note 7 launched with much fanfare last summer, only to die in spectacular fashion as systemic battery flaws (not to mention hasty decision-making) forced Samsung to recall the fire-prone handset t…

'Live Message' on the Galaxy Note 8 lets you draw all over photos

Voice & Motion Activated Stickers Are Perfect for Office Pranksters

Too many of today’s pranks are cruel or downright mean. I prefer old school pranks, which are a bit more lighthearted, and not likely to end with you or your victim getting a punch in the face or a kick in the groin. These prank stickers should do the trick just fine.

From the office microwave to the street corner newspaper machine, these stickers instantly transform everyday objects into “smart” ones, adding Voice or Motion control. Well, they don’t really do that, but they’ll certainly convince more gullible people that they are capable of these high tech feats. Watch in amusement as your co-workers yell at the Keurig, or flail their hands wildly at the water fountain.

They’re sold in a pack of 50 (25 of each design) for just $10(USD), so you’ll have enough to label all of your cans of soda, along with the cat if you want.

Samsung’s New QLED Gaming Monitor Is Massive

Samsung has unveiled a new gaming monitor at Gamescom 2017 and it’s absolutely massive. The Samsung CHG90 QLED has actually been described by the company as the world’s largest gaming monitor that provides an IMAX-style cinematic viewing experience. It has been unveiled at Gamescom which is one of the largest gatherings of the gaming industry. The event is taking place in Cologne, Germany.

“This is the latest in our series of innovative gaming monitors designed to delight users and give them an edge over competitors while also increasing their comfort,” said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung.

Samsung CHG90 is a 49-inch ultra-wide 32:9 HDR gaming monitor with 3840 x 1080 resolution and an 1800R curvature for an immersive experience. The rapid 144Hz screen refresh rate can also be adjusted to 60Hz/120Hz when needed. It also boasts a 1ms response time, more realistic colors courtesy of Samsung’s Quantum dot and HDR technology as well as a dedicated game mode.

Samsung says that its new gaming monitor is equivalent to two 27-inch 16:9 monitors side by side. This means that users get impressive multitasking flexibility without having to deal with multi-monitor setups.

The design itself is minimal with a matte black body placed on a circle stand. It has a hinge with height adjustments, swivel, tilt and VESA mounting. Connectivity options include two HDMI ports, DisplayPort, and audio out ports.

Samsung will release the CHG90 next month.

Joker Origin Story Movie Reportedly Being Made By Martin Scorsese

Legendary film icon Martin Scorsese is reportedly working on a Joker origin story movie. Scorsese is said to be producing this film which will be directed by Todd Philips of The Hangover fame. It’s said that this movie is going to be part of a new sub-brand that Warner Bros. will launch that’s going to focus on producing original movies based on various characters in the DC universe.

Deadline reports that Jared Leto won’t be starring as the Joker in this movie even though he most recently played the Joker in Suicide Squad.

The studio’s intention is to make an origin story that’s not part of any other iteration of the DC universe. So while Leto will reprise his role as the Joker in the Suicide Squad sequel and Harley Quinn spinoff, he won’t be cast in the new movie.

The new movie is described as a “hard-boiled crime film” that’s going to be set in the early 1980s. Scorsese is said to be influencing the style and aesthetic of the movie with Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy being mentioned as the tonal references for the Joker origin story movie.

It’s unclear at this point in time when Warner Bros. will come out with this movie. Given that there’s no confirmed information about the cast as yet, it may take a couple of years before the new Joker origin story movie hits the big screen.

SpaceX’s New Spacesuit Revealed By Elon Musk

Elon Musk’s SpaceX is yet to send humans up to space. The company has so far been conducting resupply missions to the International Space Station and launching satellites for its customers. It’s planning to take astronauts to space as well and that’s going to require them to wear a spacesuit. Musk today shared the first photo of his space company’s new spacesuit.

This spacesuit is what SpaceX is going to use for its first crewed missions. Musk shared the picture of this spacesuit via Instagram. He pointed out that what he see in the picture isn’t a mockup but an actual image of the fully functional spacesuit.

Musk added that this has already been tested to double vacuum pressure and that it was incredibly hard to balance aesthetics and function. It’s clear at first glance that this is unlike other spacesuits. It’s fashionable to the extent a spacesuit can be fashionable and appears to be tight to the body.

Musk has said that SpaceX is going to provide more details about its first spacesuit in the coming days. We can also expect to see more images so that’s going to be interesting.

It’s going to be a while before SpaceX launches its first crewed mission so these spacesuits won’t be put into active service immediately.
