Official Moto X4 Images Leaked Prior To Launch

We’ve seen several reports over the past few months about the Moto X4. Lenovo-owned Motorola is yet to officially announce this handset but official images of the handset have now been leaked online. The images were actually posted online by one of the company’s official distributors. This essentially confirms that the Moto X4 is real and that some of the leaks we’ve seen so far are accurate.

These images were posted online by HomaTelecom which is the official distributor for Lenovo and Motorola in Iran. It shared a couple of images of the new Moto X4 on its official Instagram account.

The images confirm the design that we’ve already seen in leaked renders of the device. They also confirm reports that the Moto X4 is going to have a dual camera system at the back.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Moto X4 is said to feature a 5.2 inch full HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The Asia Pacific-bound variant of this handset is reportedly going to have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

It’s also going to have a dual camera system at the back with a 12 megapixel primary sensor and 8 megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor aside from as 16 megapixel front camera.

Motorola is expected to officially announce the Moto X4 in Brazil on August 24th.

iPhone 8 Video Shows Rear Touch ID Sensor In Action

Apple is expected to do away with the Home button on the iPhone 8. This means that the company will either have to ditch the Touch ID fingerprint sensor or reposition it. Multiple reports have suggested that it will reposition the Touch ID sensor to the back. A new video has surfaced online which apparently shows the rear-mounted iPhone 8 fingerprint sensor in action.

It goes without saying that Apple hasn’t confirmed any of this as yet so take it with a grain of salt. The video comes from an unofficial source and there’s no way to ascertain its authenticity at this point in time.

This 10-second clip was originally posted to China’s equivalent of Twitter, Weibo. It shows the person pressing their finger to the iPhone 8’s rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and then triggering diagnostics on a connected machine.

The back panel seen in the video is consistent with the iPhone 8 leaks that have surfaced so far. The Apple logo is prominently displayed and the vertical dual camera system is similar to the one we’ve seen in leaked iPhone 8 renders.

It’s far from confirmed that the iPhone 8 will have a rear fingerprint sensor, though. There have been many conflicting reports about this. Some suggest that the iPhone 8 isn’t going to have a fingerprint sensor at all and that Apple will make the handset’s 3D face scanner the star of the show.

Other reports suggest that the Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the power button which is located on the right edge of the bezel on the bezel. We should find out for sure by next month when Apple officially unveils the iPhone 8.

Huawei’s Artificial Intelligence Processor Launch Possible Next Month

Huawei confirmed last month that it has been working on an artificial intelligence processor that it’s going to integrate into its devices to advance the use of AI on mobile devices. The company has now posted a teaser on Weibo which suggests that it’s ready to launch its artificial intelligence processor in the near future.

The teaser gives off the suggestion that Huawei is going to make its artificial intelligence-related announcements on September 2nd. This means that the announcements will be made at the IFA 2017 convention in Berlin, Germany.

The new AI processor is expected to be unveiled at this event. Not a lot of details about the chip are available at this point in time so it will really be interesting to see what Huawei’s AI chip is capable of.

In theory, a dedicated chip for artificial intelligence should add more smart features to Huawei devices. It may also help the company ensure that its devices stand out from the crowd because of the AI-powered features that they offer.

We’ll have to wait until September 2nd to find out straight from the proverbial horse’s mouth what the benefits are of integrating a dedicated artificial intelligence chip inside a mobile device.

Stranger Things Season 3 Has Been Confirmed

Fans of this Netflix original will be happy to know that the online video streaming company has confirmed that the series won’t be ending after its second season. Even though Stranger Things season 2 is yet to be released, Netflix has now confirmed Stranger Things season 3. Fans will appreciate that the confirmation for the next season comes two months before the upcoming season is to be released.

Stranger Things co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer have confirmed in an interview with Vulture that the show will be coming back for another season on Netflix next year.

Ross mentioned that Stranger Things is possibly going to be a “four-season thing and then out” but the possible fourth season hasn’t been given the green signal by Netflix just yet.

The co-creators also revealed some more details about Stranger Things season 2. They said that the upcoming season is going to feel more like a movie sequel as opposed to a TV show.

As far as the third season is concerned, it might see the storyline move outside of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana.

There’s no release date yet for the third season of Stranger Things, for obvious reasons, it’s unlikely that even production has begun at this point in time. Fans will have to wait until late next year for the third season to arrive.

Younger Teens Reportedly Losing Interest In Facebook

Facebook may not be as appealing to younger teens as it once was if a new report is to be believed. eMarketer has released a new report which predicts that Facebook is going to see a decline in usage by the 12-to-17-year-old demographic this year. It’s a big deal because this is the first time that eMarketer has predicted a decline in Facebook usage for any demographic.

Aside from the users who have given up on Facebook altogether, eMarketer finds that teens and tweens that do remain on Facebook are less engaged. They’re logging in less frequently and spending less time on the platform.

We also have “Facebook-nevers” now, which is a term that it has coined for children aging into the tween demographic that are overlooking Facebook entirely in favor of services like Instagram and Snapchat. Instagram is owned by Facebook so it’s got that going for itself.

eMarketer predicts that about 14.5 million users between the ages of 12 to 17 will use Facebook in 2017, registering a 3.4 percent decline year-over-year.

It also finds that audiences under 25 are spending less time on Facebook as well while they too are increasing the time that they spend on Instagram and Snapchat.

eMarketer predicts that Snapchat is going to see an improvement in its usage statistics for the 18 to 24 demographic. This particular demographic is expected to register a 19.2 percent growth in Snapchat usage this year.
