Limited Edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4 Announced

There are many reasons to buy a particular console platform, such as pricing, design, power, and of course games. Due to the fact that there are some big name games out there that are exclusive to certain consoles, it isn’t surprising to see gamers purchase a particular platform just for that title.

Now if you have been consider getting your hands on the Sony PS4 but have been putting it off for whatever reason, you might be interested to learn that Sony has recently taken the wraps off a limited edition Gran Turismo Sport PS4 console. As the name (and look) suggests, this is a console themed around the upcoming racing game Gran Turismo Sport.

The console itself will be a 1TB PS4 Slim model and will come with a the Day 1 edition of the game that will also provide gamers with $250,000 in in-game credits, livery sticker packs, a chrome racing helmet, and 60 PS4 avatars, but other than that this is the same PS4 Slim console that many gamers probably already know.

Unfortunately it seems that for now, this particular limited edition console will be limited to just Europe and Australasia and will be released on the 18th of October, so those of us living stateside will probably miss out on it (for now). Gran Turismo Sport is also set for a release on the 18th of October which is probably not a coincidence.

Nintendo’s SNES Classic Will Come With A Rewind Feature

Are games these days easier than games back in the day? We suppose it depends on the gamer, but if there’s one thing that many can agree on is that games back in the day were considerably less forgiving, and that not many games came with tutorials that walked gamers through the features and functions, meaning that picking up a new game could be tricky.

Nintendo seems to understand this loud and clear because one of the features that is part of the SNES Classic is a “rewind” feature. As the name suggests, this rewind feature will let players turn back the clock when they screw up. So if you hate the idea of starting all over again, you can rewind back to the previous moment and try again, whether it be a tricky level, boss fight, or missed out on picking up on an item.

The amount of time that players can rewind will vary from game to game, where faster-paced titles will only allow players to rewind a few seconds, while slower games might allow users to rewind a few minutes. This is applicable to all games on the SNES Classic (and Super Famicom) so gamers will be able to utilize it regardless of what game they play.

HP Unveils Its New Omen X Gaming Laptop

Recently the folks at Acer took the wraps off a new gaming laptop which by all accounts seems like it’s decent enough for gaming, but not necessarily the most powerful gaming laptop we’ve seen. However the upside is that it is relatively affordable, but if you’re after power and money isn’t really a concern, then HP might have something for you.

The company has recently announced its latest gaming laptop in the form of the HP Omen X. What makes this particular gaming laptop different from some of the competition is that it comes with support for an unlocked CPU which means that you’ll be able to overclock the CPU to go beyond its advertised speeds, assuming that’s your thing and assuming you know what you’re doing.

In terms of specs, we’re looking at an Intel 7700HQ or an 7820K processor and the laptop will support as much as 32GB of RAM. It will also come with choices of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070, and will also be able to support up to two 1TB NVMe SSDs and a 1TB HDD. The laptop will also be equipped with a bunch of fans and multiple heat pipes to keep it cool, which is a good idea considering how beastly it sounds.

In terms of price, HP says that the model that comes with a GTX 1070 will be priced starting at $1,999 but will go up to $3,699 if you were to fully spec it out.

Destiny 2 Launch Trailer Released

Bungie’s Destiny 2 is expected to be released early next month, and for gamers who can’t wait and would like to sate their appetite, you’ll be pleased to learn that Bungie has since released a new launch trailer for the upcoming game, which as with most trailers, does a pretty good job of hyping up its release.

Destiny 2 will be the second installment in the Destiny franchise and it will also mark the first time that a Destiny game will be arriving on the PC. What’s interesting is also the fact that Destiny 2 will be exclusively available via the Battle.net launcher from Blizzard, which also marks the first time that the launcher has been used for a non-Blizzard game. However given that Destiny 2 is published by Activision, it’s not hard to see how this worked out.

The game is currently scheduled for a release on consoles on the 6th of September, but it is also expected to find its way onto the PC at a later date. Gamers who are interested in the PC version of the game can look forward to taking part in the game’s open beta which is currently scheduled for a release towards the end of August. The PC version is expected to be similar to the console version, but given that PCs can be upgraded to sport better hardware, graphics wise PC gamers with higher-end rigs will get to enjoy a better-looking game.

Nintendo Switch eShop Now Supports PayPal

One of the ways to purchase from the Nintendo Switch eShop is to add funds to your account, and this is done through credit card where you can choose to add funds that are the price of the game, or however much you want to. However the good news is that it looks like PayPal is now an option for gamers.

For gamers in the US and Japan, it seems that Nintendo has started to rollout PayPal support for the Switch’s eShop, as you can see in the photo above. It should be noted that right now PayPal support is only for the US and Japan as it seems that other countries are not eligible for the support yet, but presumably this should be extended to other markets in the future.

That being said given that the Switch is region-free, it means that anyone can create a US or Japan-based eShop account and attach their PayPal account to it, so this isn’t quite as region-exclusive as you might think. This will come in handy for gamers who might prefer to consolidate their purchases with their PayPal account, or if they would like the extra protection and benefits of using PayPal.

We’re not sure if there are plans to add support for other services in the future, but for now we guess PayPal is a good alternative.
