The Multimodal Autonomous Drone (S-MAD) is a fixed-wing drone that has a few bird-like tricks up its sleeve. You can, for example, fly it like a glider through a room or open space, but when it approaches a flat surface the drone quickly changes configuration and lands flat with its little spiky teeth digging in to keep it from falling. The rumors about the new iPhone just won’t stop coming in. Apple hasn’t said anything about its new smartphones so far and it’s unlikely to before the actual event takes place. We don’t even know when Apple is planning on unveiling its new iPhones. If a new report is to be believed, the new iPhone 8 sans Touch ID will enter mass production in the month of September.
An analyst has claimed in a new note to investors that the iPhone 8 is going to enter mass production in the “third week of September.”
This reiterates rumors that have suggested that the new iPhone is going to be available in limited quantities at launch. While previous reports have suggested that Apple is going to remove the home button as well as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, they have also claimed that the fingerprint sensor would be embedded into the display itself.
The analyst predicts that the iPhone 8 is not going to have a fingerprint sensor in its display due to the low yield rate of the components required to power this functionality. The analyst predicts that Apple will only ship five million iPhone 8 units in the September quarter before the supply eventually starts catching up with the demand.
Apple is expected to ship between 30 to 35 million units of the iPhone 8 in the December quarter.

Posted in: Today's Chili
AT&T today announced that it’s going to start selling a new tablet soon. This isn’t a tablet that AT&T is just going to carry for some other OEM. It’s the carriers own-brand tablet. Carriers in the United States have been shifting their attention to own-brand devices recently, with Verizon launching its Ellipsis tablets and T-Mobile coming out with its REVVL smartphone. AT&T has now announced its Primetime tablet.
As the name suggests, this tablet is aimed at those who want to consume media content on the go. It also takes advantage of AT&T’s ownership of DirecTV. The Primetime tablet has a TV mode which provides easy access to video apps like DirecTV and DirecTV Now with one swipe, a subscription is still required to access those video services, though.
As far as the hardware specifications go, the AT&T Primetime tablet has a 10.1 inch 1920×1200 pixel resolution LCD display, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB storage, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and a 9,020mAh battery.
AT&T will start selling the Primetime tablet from August 25th for $10 per month on a 20 month term. Customers will also have the option to purchase it on a 2 year contract for $29.99.
LTE connectivity is supported and AT&T customers will be able to add the tablet to their existing plans for an additional $20 per month.
