Before Microsoft confirmed that its revamped console was called the Xbox One X, it was referred to by its code name only which was Project Scorpio. If the latest leak is to be believed, the Project Scorpio branding may live on even after the Xbox One X has been released. Microsoft is apparently going to release a limited Xbox One X “Project Scorpio Edition” as well.
The leak comes from two German retailers that briefly had listings up for the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition. The listings have since been removed.
It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be anything different about the Project Scorpio Edition as far as the console’s specifications are concerned. Microsoft may just be paying homage to the console’s original code name with this edition. It’s likely that the changes will only be cosmetic in nature.
The leaked images show that there’s going to be a Project Scorpio logo on the front of the console and the controller. Its controller is going to have an all-black color scheme while the console will have a subtle stippled texture that won’t be available on the standard Xbox One X.
One of the listings mentions that the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition will only be available for a limited time. No prices have been mentioned so it’s unclear if it’s going to cost more than the standard version. More information about the Xbox One X availability will be confirmed by Microsoft at Gamescom this weekend.

The Moto 360 Sport is one of the many smartwatches that supports the Android Wear 2.0 platform update. However, owners of this wearable device have been made to wait for a very long time. They’ve still not received the firmware update but that might be about to change soon. A new report suggests that Lenovo-owned Motorola might soon release the Moto 360 Sport Android Wear 2.0 update.
Motorola released the Android Wear 2.0 update for the standard second-generation Moto 360 smartwatch back in May. It didn’t release the update for the Sport variant at that time which was not surprising.
The Moto 360 Sport hasn’t exactly proven to be a hit for the company. It didn’t do well in the market which prompted Motorola to pull its listing from the Google Store merely months after the Moto 360 Sport was launched. Other retailers started selling it at steep discounts just to get rid of their inventory.
Manufacturers don’t tend to spend too much time in supporting devices that flopped as quickly as they support devices that brought in a lot of customers for them. No wonder why Motorola has been so slow to update the Moto 360 Sport to Android Wear 2.0.
Motorola has now published a new support page on its website that confirms that the Moto 360 Sport Android Wear 2.0 update is going to be rolling out soon. Those who own this smartwatch should keep an eye out for build number NXH20Z. It should arrive over the next couple of days.

Was Beta Really Better than VHS?
Posted in: Today's ChiliBack in the ’80s, I was a huge proponent of BetaMax videotapes, though it was less about the image quality for me and more about the audio quality Beta Hi-Fi, which offered up far better sound quality than other video formats at the time. But for years, it’s been thought that Beta offered superior image quality, despite its ultimate loss in the home video format wars.
However, the reality is that most of us never saw a real comparison of the technologies, and just believed what we read in magazines (remember magazines?) To put to rest the great Beta vs VHS battle once and for all, the guys at Technology Connections decided to do a proper side-by-side faceoff between the two competing tape formats.
The video puts the two formats up against each other in a variety of split-screen showdowns, and if nothing else is a great way to see how far we’ve come in terms of image quality with today’s ubiquitous HD and 4K digital formats.
In the end, I found it really hard to tell the difference between most of the footage, and it seems as if it had more to do with which tape speed you recorded at (i.e. SP/LP/SLP, or Beta II/III), than the format of the recorder. Watch the video, and decide for yourself.
