Video games have become so sophisticated and so complex that each one, especially triple-A ones, take up a huge amount of human resources and working hours even just to get updates out the door. At the same time, players have equally become more sophisticated and more varied in their tastes that it’s no longer a one size fits all situation. … Continue reading
Philips is back with a bang where LCD monitors are concerned, having announced the all new 326M6FJSB. This is a 32-inch Philips QHD LCD display that boasts of the immersive Ambiglow feature. It is something that we have seen in the past in older TVs from Philips, especially back when LCD TVs were starting to catch on, and now that this technology has trickled down to the monitor market, we are not complaining. Sporting immersive lighting effects, Ultra Wide-Color Technology, a SmartImage Game mode, and flicker-free technology, the 326M6FJSB can certainly be considered to be the perfect monitor regardless of whether it is used for home entertainment or productivity purposes.
Expect the Philips 326M6FJSB 32” QHD monitor to arrive with an asking price of $379.99, although you might be able to obtain a better or discounted price with select retailers. The 326M6FJSB’s Philips Ambiglow technology will certainly introduce a whole new dimension when it comes to the viewing experience. This is one piece of innovative technology which “enlarges” the screen, and it does so by delivering a halo of light right around its edges.
Even monitors are powered by processors these days, and the 326M6FJSB is no different since it can analyze the incoming image content, while making non-stop adaptations to the color and brightness of the emitted light in order to match the image. Users are able to adjust the ambiance according to their preferences, and it does not matter whether you are going to use it to watch movies, sports or play games, the Philips Ambiglow will be more than up to the task to deliver a unique and immersive viewing experience.
Not only that, support for Philips’ Ultra Wide-Color technology is also part of the deal, offering a wider spectrum of colors that delivers a better looking picture, with your eyes seeing more natural-looking greens, vivid reds and deeper blues. Seems to be one of the more ideal monitors in the market if you’re on the lookout for one!

The other day YouTuber Marques Brownlee posted a video that showed off the dummy unit of the iPhone 8. However there are more iPhones that Apple is expected to unveil, like the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, which has now been shown off in a video uploaded onto YouTube by Danny Winget.
Note that just like the iPhone 8 video, the iPhone 7s Plus in this particular video is not the actual unit, but rather an alleged prototype unit since we doubt that Apple would have been so careless to let a model run loose in the wild, let alone get uploaded onto YouTube. However assuming the specs and design is the same as the final unit, the video above does give us a good idea of what to expect in terms of size of the phones.
According to the video and prototype unit, it seems that the iPhone 7s Plus will be sporting a glass back. It was assumed that the iPhone 8 would feature a redesign of the iPhone, but it seems that the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus could also be getting an upgrade in visuals as well, although judging by the prototype it’s not too drastic.
The iPhone 7s Plus is also noticeably bigger compared to the iPhone 8, although in terms of screen size the iPhone 8 is supposed to have a similar screen size (or possibly larger), but due to the lack of bezels, it makes the iPhone 8 more manageable. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Which iPhone model do you think you will be getting?

A popular iPhone 8 rumor that has been making its rounds for a while is that the handset could come with a new security system, which is through facial recognition and could potentially also replace Touch ID on the iPhone. Now thanks to a report by analyst Gene Munster, there is more evidence to suggest that this rumor could be true.
There have been quite a bit of evidence so far spotted inside the leaked HomePod firmware, but in case you needed more proof, hopefully this will help. According to Munster, it seems that one of Apple’s suppliers Lumentum has received a huge order for 3D sensing laser components that is rumored to be included in the iPhone 8. Munster states that the company has received $200 million in orders during the quarter, versus $5 million in revenue during the June quarter.
While just about anyone could have possibly ordered those components, for such a huge order it can only come from a company who has need for that many units, which narrows down the list considerably. Like we said, facial recognition is one of the rumored features of the iPhone 8 but it is expected to be a more robust system compared to what we’ve seen so far.
For example one of the rumored features of the iPhone 8 is that users can unlock the phone even when the phone is lying flat on the table, and that users can silence notification sounds as long as they are looking at their phone (which presumably means they are acknowledging it).

Apple is expected to launch their new iPhones later next month, or at least that’s assuming Apple doesn’t break tradition. With the new iPhones we’re expecting a ton of new features like faster processor, a better display, and of course improved cameras as well. Recently we heard that the iPhone 8 could possibly record 4K videos at 60fps, and now more details have surfaced.
In a tweet by iOS developer Guilherme Rambo, it seems that the recently leaked HomePod firmware has revealed that the iPhone could potentially be capable of recording 1080p video at 240fps, and not just with the rear-facing camera, but with the front-facing camera as well. Of course whether or not you might have the need for a frame rate of 240fps is entirely up to you and how you use your phone, but we guess at least the option will be there if you need it.
That being said, we can’t say for sure if this feature will be limited to just the iPhone 8 or if it will be applicable across all of Apple’s 2017 iPhones. However we have seen in the past that there are features on the Plus version of the iPhone that don’t make it to the “normal” iPhone, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.
Apple has yet to confirm when the new iPhones will be coming out, but like we said, next month is probably a safe bet based on previous iPhone launches.

When Apple first launched Touch ID, it was pretty much limited in terms of its usage, where it could only be used to unlock the iPhone and facilitate purchases via iTunes or Apple Pay. However Apple eventually opened it up to third-party apps who want a more secure way of protecting their apps and contents.
The good news for developers is that if the rumored facial recognition feature is something you’re looking forward to, there is a chance you could be able to integrate it into your apps right off the bat. In a tweet by developer Guilherme Rambo (via MacRumors), it has been discovered that there are code strings within the leaked HomePod firmware that suggests that the facial recognition system can be used by third-party developers.
Other pieces of information related to the feature also include the ability to use it for payments, such as Apple Pay and presumably iTunes, and that it will support multiple faces, meaning that you can add verified users, much like how you can also record multiple fingerprint scans with Touch ID.
Now Apple has yet to confirm any of this so these are just assumptions based on how the code is written. How exactly it will be implemented remains to be seen, but hopefully Apple will have something official for us soon.

If you have been holding off on buying a Tesla, now might be a good time to do so especially if you’re looking for an investment that you can keep for a while. This is because according to a report from Electrek, Tesla has quietly upgraded the autopilot hardware in its cars and will be shipping that new hardware with newer models.
According to Electrek’s source, there is a new onboard computer that comes with a secondary GPU to add more computing power. Tesla has since confirmed that they have upgraded the autopilot hardware for its newer models, but it seems that it isn’t as big a deal as you might think it is.
A Tesla spokesperson confirmed the upgrade and in a statement provided to Electrek, “The internal name HW 2.5 is an overstatement, and instead it should be called something more like HW 2.1. This hardware set has some added computing and wiring redundancy, which very slightly improves reliability, but it does not have an additional Pascal GPU.”
Tesla’s autopilot feature has been around for awhile now, although the company has stressed many times in the past that it is not a self-driving feature, but it seems more like a safety feature as it is said to help prevent accidents which we have seen it live up to the promise in several videos.
