PS4 System Update Version 5.0 Patch Notes Leaked

Sony is working on a new system update for the PlayStation 4. The company confirmed last month that it’s developing PlayStation 4 system update version 5.0 and that a beta will be released in August. While one is yet to be released, a new report claims that the patch notes for this release have been leaked.

According to a report published by Eurogamer, which claims to have obtained the leaked patch notes for PlayStation 4 system update version 5.0, one of the major changes that this update will bring includes the ability to stream gameplay in full HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames-per-second over Twitch with the PlayStation 4 Pro.

A PSN-related update will enable users to follow any PlayStation Network member without having to add each other as friends. This is similar to how it is on the Xbox One where one member can follow the other without the two having to add each other as friends.

The update will bring several minor tweaks as well. For example, the notifications and upload/download statuses will be visible from the Quick Menu that can be accessed by holding the PlayStation button on the controller.

Sony is yet to confirm when it’s going to release system update version 5.0 for the PlayStation 4. It hasn’t even confirmed when the beta is going to start.

The chapter takes inspiration from monster movies of the 1950s. Players will be tasked with fighting a new array of zombie enemies in a ravaged beach town where a government science experiment gone bad has transformed residents into zombies.

The Absolution DLC also adds four new maps to the game. Players on the Xbox One and PC can now download the Absolution DLC for $15.

The maps include Bermuda, Permafrost, Fore, and Ember. The final map is actually a remake of the popular Resistance map from Modern Warfare 3.

FIFA Mobile For Windows Phone Bites The Dust

Here’s yet another app that Windows Phone owners have to say goodbye to. EA Sports has confirmed today that it’s ending support for FIFA Mobile on Windows Phone later this year. The company launched this game for mobile devices last year. This “all-new football experience built for the mobile player” was released for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone in October 2016. The Windows Phone iteration is going to bite the dust.

EA has confirmed through a post on Facebook that it’s going to completely discontinue the game on Windows Phone in under three months. “On November 7, we will be turning off all online functions for FIFA Mobile for Windows mobile devices,” the post says.

Adding that the decision to retire games services “is never easy,” EA Sports confirms that it’s no longer going to support or update online services for this game.

FIFA Mobile continues to be available for rival platforms. The game itself is not going away anytime soon. It’s just that it doesn’t make much sense for EA to keep it around for Windows Phone.

That’s not surprising at all given that Windows Phone now accounts for just 0.1 percent of the global smartphone market. There’s little incentive for EA Sports to continue supporting the game for a platform that’s as good as dead.
