This is where the Lovenuts comes in, where it is flashlight that doubles up as a vibrator.

For starters it is a toy that values your privacy, meaning that anyone who picks it up won’t know that it is a vibrator because it can only be turned on using your phone, so for all intents and purposes, it is just an oddly shaped (or cute) flashlight.

Parrot Mambo Code Bundle Will Teach Kids How To Program Drones

While topics like maths and science are still essential when it comes to the education of children, we’re starting to see how programming is also becoming something of an essential skill that kids should pick up. It’s not yet a requirement (at least not everywhere), but it is clear that learning to code could be an invaluable skill to have for the future.

This is why we’re seeing many companies launching tools and software aimed to teach kids how to code at a young age, so when Tynker and Parrot announced the Parrot Mambo Code bundle, it really doesn’t come as a surprise. This is a bundle the contains a Parrot Mambo minidrone and also a six-month subscription to Tynker, where kids will be able to pickup coding skills to use with the drones.

The drone will also come with a mini-ball launcher, grabber, 50 plastic balls, while the Tynker subscription will give kids access to eight mobile coding courses, 18 online coding courses, over 350 puzzle levels, tutorials, and a virtual drone flight simulation course, all of which will be priced at $149, which is actually relatively affordable.

According to Tynker co-founder and CTO, Srinivas Mandyam, “We’ve seen an overwhelming interest in drones among kids and parents and are excited to deepen our partnership with Parrot to unveil a comprehensive, out-of-the-box experience that inspires the next generation through game-based learning.”

ITC Will Investigate Qualcomm’s Allegations Against Apple

By now those who have been following the tech news might have heard that Qualcomm and Apple are embroiled in a legal battle against each other, so much so that not too long ago, Qualcomm had actually filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) to seek the ban of iPhone sales in the country.

Unfortunately for Apple it looks like Qualcomm’s request has been granted, sort of, as the ITC has announced that they will investigate Qualcomm’s allegations against Apple. Whether or not their investigation will result in a ban on iPhone sales remains to be seen, but we suppose for Qualcomm it is a start.

In a statement made by Don Rosenberg, executive vice president and general counsel of Qualcomm in response to the ITC’s decision, “Qualcomm is pleased with the ITC’s decision to investigate Apple’s unfair trade practices and the unauthorized importation of products using Qualcomm’s patents. We look forward to the ITC’s expeditious investigation of Apple’s ongoing infringement of our intellectual property and the accelerated relief that the Commission can provide.”

As for Apple’s response, the company points to a comment made by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook back in May, in which Cook said that Qualcomm had yet to offer Apple “fair and reasonable” licensing terms for use of its technology.

Amazon Echo Multiroom Support Could Be Coming Soon

One of the things we’re seeing speaker makers include with their Bluetooth speaker systems is the ability to daisychain multiple units together. This means as long as all the speakers are within range of each other, you could technically set them up all over the house and create a multiroom setup.

Unfortunately this has not been the case with the Amazon Echo, but that is expected to change soon. In a report from German blog Caschys (via CNET), it seems that Amazon has been working to include multiroom support for its Echo speakers, and that the company has recently concluded its testing which means that assuming the report is accurate, it won’t be long before the support is rolled out to Echo device owners.

Like we said this isn’t exactly a new feature and we’ve seen how other speaker companies have long included the functionality, but with this update, it should help to make Amazon’s Echo devices more competitive, especially with the convenience of being able to command Alexa is any room that the speakers are in.

There’s no word on when the feature will be rolled out, so take it with a grain of salt for now but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it in the near future.

Uber Will Reportedly End Its Car-Leasing Business

While Uber might be known more for its ride hailing services, they also have a car-leasing business where they leased cars to drivers who might not have a car that’s suitable or eligible to be used with Uber’s services. Unfortunately it seems that the endeavor is actually costing the company more than they expected, so much so that they are thinking of shutting it down.

This is according to a report from CNBC who has heard from their sources that Uber is planning to shut down its car leasing business, or alternatively they could be thinking of selling it off, or maybe consolidate it to make it more efficient. A report from The Wall Street Journal has suggested that Uber is making losses as much as $9,000 per car, versus the $500 that they had initially predicted.

Assuming this is true, clearly this is not a very good business model. Should Uber decide to shut it down, it is said that 500 jobs out of the 15,000 could be affected by it. Interestingly enough Uber drivers have long complained about the high lease payments, but it seems that even what Uber charges isn’t enough to cover its losses, so really, it doesn’t seem like anyone is winning in this situation.

Uber has yet to officially respond to these reports so do take it with a grain of salt for now.
