The SNES Classic has already had a tumultuous history, and it was only officially announced last month. But now, Nintendo has confirmed (really for real) that the system will actually (really) be available for pre-order later in August.
The iPhone 8 is without a doubt one of the most highly anticipated smartphones of this year. There’s absolutely no shortage of rumors and leaks concerning Apple’s new flagship smartphone. It goes without saying that we’ll see a lot more of these before we see the actual device. An iPhone 8 mockup has been created using the leaked schematics of the upcoming device and it gives us a sense of what the iPhone 8 might look like.
This scale model was built using leaked iPhone 8 schematics. The schematics were apparently leaked from the factories that will be mass producing Apple’s next-generation flagship smartphone.
The mockup has been built using glass and metal so the vibe that you get off of it is that of a proper smartphone. The mockup you see here was made by Yesgo, a third-party case manufacturer.
It may have got some details right about the expected design of the handset but don’t think for a second that this what the real iPhone 8 is going to look like.
Sure, there might be similarities when it comes to the design, but the real deal is going to look much better, obviously.
Apple is yet to confirm when the iPhone 8 is going to be unveiled. Reports suggest that while the new flagship will be unveiled at an event next month, it may not be released until November this year.

Tesla finally released the Model 3 late last month. It has been a long road for the company. Its first mass-market electric car has had to jump through a lot of hoops to become a reality. The company handed off the first 30 production units to some of the first few customers last week and will now gradually ramp up production to meet the 400,000+ outstanding orders for the Model 3. Tesla has also revealed that there’s going to be a performance version of the Model 3 which will be launched next year.
Tesla is currently offering two different iterations of the Model 3. The model that starts at $35,000 offers a 220 mile range whereas the model that starts at $45,000 offers 300+ miles of range.
A performance version of the Model 3 is likely going to have dual electric motors, as we’ve seen with performance versions of the Model S, and will feature a bigger battery for faster speeds and longer range.
Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk was asked on Twitter if Tesla intends to launch a performance version of the Model 3 at some point. Musk replied that Tesla will do that “probably middle of next year.”
The company is currently focused on getting out of “Model 3 production hell,” which is basically a way of saying that it wants to ramp up Model 3 production to full capacity before it starts taking orders for a new model.
Probably middle of next year. Focus now is on getting out of Model 3 production hell. More versions = deeper in hell.

Microsoft wants to make it easier for customers to own and upgrade a Surface device. To that end, the company today announced the launch of its Surface Plus program. The program offers flexible financing options that are designed to help people take advantage of Microsoft’s Surface lineup of PCs. The program is exclusively available in the United States at Microsoft Stores and online at Microsoft.com.
The Surface Plus program covers all Microsoft Surface devices, be it the Surface Laptop, Surface Pro, Surface Book or Surface Studio. It’s a simple plan to enable customers to jump on the hardware that Microsoft has so meticulously created.
With the Surface Plus program, customers can purchase a Surface device with an easy 24 month payment plan at 0% APR. They are also allowed to upgrade to the latest Surface device after 18 months.
The main condition attached to the device upgrade offer is that customers have to return their existing Surface device after 18 months and that it has to be in “good condition.”
All customers on this program will have the option to add the Microsoft Complete extended service plan. Additional benefits for customers who shop at Microsoft Stores include a 30 day hassle free return policy, a Surface training and health check, and a year of free in-store support and technical assistance.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are among the few handsets that have support for Google’s nascent Daydream virtual reality platform. When these smartphones were released earlier this year, they did not have support for the platform. Google confirmed at the I/O 2017 conference a few months back that it will release Daydream VR support for these handsets over the summer. Both devices are receiving said update today.
There were signs recently that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will receive this update in the near future. T-Mobile released Daydream VR support for the handsets on its networks a couple of weeks ago. Verizon later did the same.
It has now been confirmed via the official Google VR G+ account that the Daydream VR update is now being rolled out for the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. This doesn’t appear to be an over-the-air update so it’s not like Galaxy S8 owners will have to install the update manually.
Google appears to have made a server-side change in order to enable Samsung’s 2017 flagship to work with the Daydream virtual reality platform. The Daydream app can now be installed on the aforementioned devices, it’s available as a free download from the Google Play Store.

Motorola Launches The Moto G5S Plus
Posted in: Today's Chili
Motorola recently launched a couple of new smartphones and if you haven’t had the time to check them out, it’s time that you add another to the list, because Motorola has launched the Moto G5S Plus today. This can get a bit confusing for those trying to keep track of the smartphones that Motorola has launched so far. The easiest way to describe this latest addition to the lineup is that it’s simply a bigger version of the existing Moto G5 Plus handset.
Keeping in line with the overall look and feel of the G5 lineup, the Moto G5S Plus has the same unibody aluminum design protected by the same water repellent nano-coating.
The handset has the same Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microUSB port for charging and data transfers as well as a 3,000mAh battery.
So what’s new in the G5S Plus? It has 3GB of RAM instead of 2GB. The display has been bumped up to 5.5 inches but retains the 1080p resolution. The rear gets a 13 megapixel dual camera system with an additional 8 megapixel wide angle lens. The front gets an 8 megapixel f/2.0 camera with a front-facing LED flash.
Motorola is going to ship the Moto G5S Plus with Android 7.1.1 straight out of the box. The handset has full compatibility with GSM and CDMA networks so it will work on all four major carriers in the country. Motorola is yet to confirm the price and release date for the Moto G5S Plus.

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 can now be played for free as long as you’re a paying subscriber of EA and Origin Access. These subscription services for the Xbox One and PC respectively offer a vault to subscribers that contain several titles that are free to those who are paying monthly for the service. Titanfall 2 has now been added to the vault which means subscribers on both the Xbox One and PC can play this game for free.
This doesn’t come as a complete surprise given that EA had announced last month that two of its most popular games of the year, Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1, will be added to EA Access. The company has partly followed through on that promise. It has yet to confirm when Battlefield 1 is going to be added to the vault.
Respawn Entertainment, the developer, recently ran a free weekend for Titanfall 2. It enabled people to try out the game for a couple of days and even try out its full multiplayer experience before deciding whether or not they wanted to pay money for the game.
Those who didn’t purchase this game when it first came out but already subscribe to EA Access and Origin Access can now play this game for free. They will be able to do so as long as they remain subscribed to the services. Subscriptions cost $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

If you’ve searched for affordable smartphones on Amazon, you might have found a few models from Blu topping the lists. The company, Blu Products, has primarily sold its devices via Amazon. They’re affordable mid-range devices aimed at people who don’t want to spend too much money on an unlocked and off-contract device. Blu has previously been accused of loading apps on its devices that send data back to China. As those concerns have appeared once again, Amazon has decided to stop selling Blu smartphones.
Security firm Kryptowire recently revealed that Blu smartphones continue to send user data back to China. Less than a week after this report was released by the security firm, Amazon has decided to remove all Blu smartphones from its online market and will not list them again until Blu Products “resolves the issue.”
Blu previously agreed that there was a third-party app on its smartphones which collected information about text messages, contacts, and call logs. That data was then sent to servers based in China. Blu said at that time that 120,000 units of its handsets were affected by the app. It also promised to replace the app on future models.
The company has refuted the latest report from Kryptowire and has said that no data is being collected by its new devices that would affect any user’s privacy or security. The data that is being collected is “standard for OTA functionality.”
“There has been absolutely no new behavior or change in any of our devices to trigger any concern. We expect Amazon to understand this, and quickly reinstate our devices for sale,” the company said in a statement emailed to Engadget.
Amazon has not yet commented on the matter.
