Tesla Electric Semi Truck Range Expected To Be 300 Miles

Tesla has made no secret of the fact that it’s working on an electric semi truck. The company has gone so far as to release a teaser of the vehicle to get people excited about the future of commercial transportation powered by an all-electric motor. According to a new report, Tesla’s electric semi truck range is expected to clock in at 300 miles. This would be at par with the base models of the company’s passenger cars.

Reuters reports that the all electric big rig that’s in development over at Tesla will be capable of covering a distance of 200 to 300 miles on a single charge.

Tesla may confirm that next month as it’s expected to show off a prototype of the semi truck at an event. A confirmed date for the event has not yet been announced.

Tesla is said to be focused on an electric big rig that’s known as a day cab. It doesn’t have a sleeper berth and is capable of covering 200 to 300 miles with a typical payload before have to recharge.

A spokesperson for the company didn’t confirm or deny the possibility, only saying that “Tesla’s policy is to always decline to comment on speculation, whether true or untrue, as doing so would be silly. Silly!.”

Avengers Pocket Watch Collection: For a MARVELous Time

There are thousands upon thousands of Avengers collectibles on the market, but here are some that I had no idea existed. What you’re looking at are the officially-licensed Avengers pocket watches. The series includes eight different watches, made to celebrate some of the members of Marvel’s popular superhero team.

Bradford Exchange will offer up pocket watches with logo graphics for Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Falcon, and Hawkeye. In addition, there’s a S.H.I.E.L.D. watch, and a handsome glass-covered wooden display case. It’s not clear what the watches are made from, but they have a cool 3D embossed look and a metallic finish.

My personal favorite is the Captain America design, since it looks just like his shield. I don’t know if it would stop a bullet, but pocket watches have been known to do that. The series will be released every month or so, at a price of $49.99(USD) for each watch, and the same price for the display case, bringing the total cost for the collection to just under $450.

Google Chrome Will Soon Allow You To Permanently Mute Websites

Websites that autoplay videos as soon as a visitor lands aren’t really gunning for the user experience of the year award, in my humble opinion, which is why I am particularly looking forward to this Chrome feature that Google has come up with. Soon, Google Chrome will enable you to permanently mute websites. This means that the website won’t autoplay videos with sound as soon as it loads.

AndroidPolice reports that Google is experimenting with a new feature which will enable users to permanently mute websites on a per domain basis. They will configure this via the page info bubble. Once configured, Chrome will automatically block that page from autoplaying videos with sound.

Google’s François Beaufort mentions that this feature is still being experimented on by the team. In the early version, the sound toggle has been placed in the page info popup which can be accessed by clicking on the far left of the address bar. This particular section already contains various toggles for things like JavaScript, Flash, and notifications.

Websites that have been muted permanently will remain that way until the user manually unmutes them. This feature is currently available in the latest Canary build of Chrome on the desktop. It’s off by default so users will have to enable it manually by heading to the –enable-features=SoundContentSetting switch.
