It’s difficult to spot cancer cells — just one in a billion blood cells are cancerous. How do you isolate them to know the trouble someone is facing and eventually treat it? By drawing the kind of mazes you enjoyed as a kid, apparently. Researche…
Google released Android 8.0 Oreo a couple of months back but it’s yet to make its way to a majority of Android-powered devices. That’s because Google’s hardware partners normally need a few months to tune the update for their devices before they send it out. Some evidence has surfaced online which suggests that the Huawei Mate 9 Android 8.0 Oreo update might be released in the near future.
The Huawei Mate 9 has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website running Android 8.0 Oreo. Normally, when something like this happens, it’s taken as an indication of an impending release.
There were rumors several weeks back about an early ROM of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Huawei Mate 9. There have been enough whispers to suggest that Huawei has been working on this update.
The company is yet to confirm when it’s going to release the latest and greatest iteration of Android for the Huawei Mate 9. Granted, a listing on Geekbench isn’t definitive proof of an impending release, but it’s a positive indicator.
Once Huawei is done with the final testing on this ROM, which it’s probably doing now if this listing is anything to go by, then it shouldn’t be long before the company released Android 8.0 Oreo for the Huawei Mate 9.

There have been rumors recently that Razer has a gaming-focused mobile device in the pipeline. We haven’t heard much from the company about such a device but at least there’s confirmation now that one is being developed. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed to CNBC that the company is developing a new mobile device which is going to be ready by the end of this year.
The rumors about a Razer mobile device first started when the company acquired smartphone maker Nextbit earlier this year. Though it shut down support for Nextbit’s Robin smartphone, there were reports that the company was now focusing on a new mobile device.
“One of the most hotly rumored things about Razer is that we’re coming up with a mobile device. And I can say that we are coming up with a mobile device specifically geared toward gamers and entertainment,” Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed to CNBC.
He added that the company is “hoping” to have it out by the end of this year. It’s actively working on making this happen so until there’s any news of delay, we can expect Razer’s gaming-focused mobile device in a couple of months.
“We realized that a lot of our gamers are also passionate about the mobile gaming market, so we’ve done a couple of moves,” the CEO added.
Not a lot of details have been revealed about this product so far. Unless we hear more through the grapevine, it’s probably going to be a surprise for everyone when the Razer mobile device is unveiled in the near future.

Essential, Andy Rubin’s smartphone startup, recently released its first smartphone ever. The Essential Phone was finally released over a month ago after the company missed its own initial release timeframe. Those who have been meaning to get their hands on one can now pick up the Essential Phone from a variety of sources. Best Buy now has the unlocked Essential Phone available for customers across the country.
Customers can always head over to Essential’s website and purchase the Essential Phone. The company has selected Sprint to be its exclusive carrier partner in the United States so the handset is also available from Sprint stores across the country.
Best Buy was previously selling the Sprint variant of the Essential Phone. However, now it’s possible for customers to purchase the unlocked Essential Phone from Best Buy as well. The unlocked variant has support for CDMA and GSM carriers so it can work on all four major networks in the country.
It’s the same device essentially, pun intended, with a 5.71 inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. All of the internals are packed inside a titanium and ceramic chassis.
Best Buy is selling the unlocked Essential Phone for $699. That’s the same price that Essential is charging for the handset.

Amid reports that iPhone 8 pre-orders are lower than the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6, Apple CEO Tim Cook says that the company has sold out of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in some stores. He mentions that the Series 3 Apple Watch with LTE has also been sold out “in so many places” across the globe. Overall, Tim Cook appears to be thrilled with the response from customers so far.
There have been concerns that the iPhone X might end up hurting iPhone 8 sales. Those who already own an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus might not purchase an iPhone 8. They might prefer waiting a month or so more for the iPhone X.
It would make sense to for most customers to do so since the iPhone X brings more to the table than the iPhone 8, and even though it’s priced higher, it just might end up getting a favorable response from the Apple faithful in my opinion.
Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC that Apple has sold out of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in some stores, adding that they’ve got good supply. He also talked about the connectivity issue that the new Apple Watch has been facing.
“The issue is very minor, it will be fixed in a software update,” Cook said, explaining that “It has to do with the handoff between Wi-Fi and cellular, and we’ll fix that. It only happens in a rare number of cases.”

Those who have a Nintendo account can now rejoice as the company has added an additional layer of security to its online accounts. It has finally enabled two-factor authentication for Nintendo accounts. This is going to go a long way in ensuring that users are kept safe from the possibility of unauthorized access and use of their Nintendo accounts.
Nintendo account users can now enable two-factor authentication to add another layer of security to their accounts. They will be prompted to download Google Authenticator in order to obtain a code before logging in. Players who enable this feature will have to enter a six-digit code generated by the Google app when they’re logging into their Nintendo Account.
It’s about time that Nintendo added two-factor authentication to its online accounts. This additional layer of security verifies login attempts with an email or phone. While it’s not like this offers complete protection from the entire threat spectrum, it’s much better to have two-factor enabled than not.
Sony secured PlayStation Network accounts with two-factor authentication last year. Microsoft added it to Microsoft Accounts back in 2014. Steam also launched its standalone Mobile Authenticator system in 2015. So Nintendo is definitely late to the party, but as they say, better late than never.

If you rent movies from iTunes frequently, you will be delighted to find out that the iTunes movie rental window has now been extended. Apple previously allowed iTunes customers to watch rented content within 24 hours. The clock started after they played it for the first time. The rental window has now been doubled.
The updated support document on Apple’s website confirms that iTunes customers still have 30 days to start watching content that they have rented. Once they’ve played it at any point in time during those 30 days, they will now have 48 hours instead of 24 to finish watching it. It’s great that Apple has finally made this change.
Apple has made this change quietly as it begins shipping out the new Apple TV 4K to customers across the country. This move is going to be welcomed by those who frequently rent content from iTunes.
Apple previously imposed this 24 hour limit to iTunes customers in the United States but in other markets, the limit was 48 hours. It’s good that customers in the United States now get 48 hours as well.
iTunes customers can watch rented content across multiple devices and even downloaded on a single device. Even if the content is watched offline, the 48 hour timer will be adhered to.
