Instagram Could Be Making Changes To Its Classic Grid Layout

If you go to anyone’s Instagram profile (or even your own), you’re probably familiar with the grid layout that the platform has been using for years to display photos. This grid layout isn’t just  way to view photos as thinking about what photo goes next to each other can help create a cohesive look.

We’ve also seen how users and companies have used it creatively to display larger images where they took advantage of the grid layout to upload multiple images to form a single large image. However that could soon come to an end, or at least users will need to get used to a new format because it looks like Instagram could be changing their classic grid layout from 3×3 to 4×4.

In a report from The Ringer, it seems that users are reporting that they are seeing changes made to the grid, where it used to display three photos per row but now it is displaying four photos per row. The grid design is still there, but users who used the grid for very specific design and layout purposes will probably need to rethink their choices.

We’re not sure what the reason could be for the change, perhaps to accommodate larger smartphone displays, but at the moment it doesn’t seem that all users are affected by this change which suggests that it could be a feature that is being tested. Either way what do you guys think of this potential change? Yay or nay?

GoPro Hero 6 Black Could Be Announced September 28

If you’re after a new GoPro camera, then you might have heard that GoPro has a new camera in the works in the form of the GoPro Hero 6 Black. Photos of the camera have recently leaked and according to the rumors, the camera is said to offer up better video recording than before at 4K resolution with a framerate of 60 FPS.

However the question is when will the camera be announced? According to a new report from Photo Rumors, it seems that the GoPro Hero 6 Black could be announced as soon the 28th of September which is in about a week’s time. The report claims that the camera will also begin selling on the same day so customers will be able to go out and get their hands on it right away if they wish.

In terms of pricing we’re not sure quite sure how GoPro will price its new camera, but we don’t expect it to deviate too much from its predecessor. It could potentially cost a bit more than before, but it should still roughly be in the same ballpark. Photos of the device have also shown that GoPro hasn’t done much to change the design with the Hero 6 Black, or at least nothing major. In any case we should have the official details soon enough, so check back with us soon if you’d like to learn more about it.

2018 iPhones Could Fully Adopt Face ID If Feature Is Well-Received

With the iPhone X, Apple has done away with Touch ID in favor of Face ID, a new security feature in which users have their faces instead of their fingerprints scanned to authenticate who they are before the iPhone is unlocked as well as to verify Apple Pay purchases. So the question is will this feature find its way to 2018’s iPhones?

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it isn’t necessarily a done-deal and that it will hinge on whether or not the feature is well-received. “A key question on the minds of many investors is whether the new iPhone models to be launched in 2018 will support Touch ID (fingerprint recognition). We believe the key factors are: (1) whether or not Face ID (facial recognition) of iPhone X provide a positive user experience.”

Kuo also goes on to add that Touch ID could potentially remain and that Apple could also look to introduce an under-display sensor if they want to give its 2018 iPhones a higher screen-to-body ratio. This was a feature that was initially rumored for the iPhone X, but a recent report claims that Apple decided to not explore the feature because they felt that Face ID was the way to go.

While it does show a lot of promise, Face ID has yet to be put to the test since the iPhone X is only set for a release this coming November, and we’re sure that just like with Touch ID when the feature was first launched, many are rightfully skeptical, so here’s hoping that Apple will prove the critics wrong.

Google’s Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL Pricing And Renders Leaked

Google has recently sent out invites to its event scheduled for the 4th of October in which it is expected that the new Pixel handsets will be announced. So far we have been hearing a lot about the handsets, but in terms of looks, there hasn’t been much leaks on that front, or at least until now.

Thanks to the folks at Droid-Life, they have managed to get their hands on renders that are allegedly that of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Starting with the Pixel 2 (pictured above), the handset is said to be offered in three colors: Kinda Blue, Just Black, and Clearly White. It will be offered in 64GB or 128GB of storage and will be priced at $649 and $749 respectively, and both will also be offered with financing options starting at $27.04 a month.

As for the Pixel 2 XL, the phone will be offered in two colors, full black, or a “black and white” colorway. It will also be offered in 64GB or 128GB storage options, and will be priced at $849 and $949 respectively, with financing options also available starting at $35.38 a month over 24 months.

In terms of specs and features, unfortunately the leak did not contain such information, but from what we can tell from the renders, it does not seem that either device will be sporting dual cameras, but either way we should have the official details in a couple of weeks.
