We’ve probably all seen the commercial on TV for Febreze that talks about going nose blind. My son has this problem, his room smells like an armpit’s, armpit and will make your eyes water whilst he happily plays Destiny 2 oblivious to the stink. At least if your room stinks, you can leave, but if your feet stink the smell … Continue reading
Journalists are torn about whether consumers should get the pricey iPhone 8 or 8 Plus or the pricier, but new and exciting iPhone X. You can now vote with their wallet, as the two new iPhone 8s (but not the iPhone X) have gone on pre-order at Apple’s…
This year, I became a genuine Love Island fan. I’m no stranger to the show, but have previously watched as a voyeur, convincing myself that although I might not be as pretty as these people, I totally have more to offer (all the while alone on a Frid…
Earlier this year the folks at Activision announced the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise in the form of Call of Duty: WWII. The game is expected to be made available across consoles and even PC, and if you’re a PC gamer looking forward to the game, you’ll be pleased to learn that the open beta will be kicking off this month.
Sledgehammer Games, the developer behind the title, has confirmed that Call of Duty: WWII’s open beta for the PC will begin on the 29th of September. The beta will allow gamers to experience a small part of the game’s multiplayer, which we guess is more or less the reason why many gamers play titles like Battlefield and Call of Duty to begin with.
The goal of this open beta is to stress test the game’s servers, meaning that the developers want to ensure that when the game is officially launched, things will go smoothly and players will not encounter too much lag or interruptions. If you are interested, the minimum system requirements for the game have also been posted online.
This will require gamers to own a PC with Windows 7 64-bit or later, an Intel Core i3-3225 or better, at least 8GB of RAM, 25GB of HDD space, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon H D 7850 with 2GB of VRAM or better. If you meet these requirements, then you’ll want to mark down the 29th of September on your calendar.

Several days ago Apple announced their latest iPhones in the form of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. The Cupertino company confirmed that pre-orders for the phone would be kicking off on the 15th of September for certain markets, and if you are in those markets then you will be pleased to learn that pre-orders are now live.
The first wave of countries that will accept pre-orders include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the UK, the US and US Virgin Islands.
For those who missed the initial announcement, the iPhone 8 will be priced starting at $699 for the 64GB model, while the larger iPhone 8 Plus will cost $799 for the 64GB model. This time round it seems that Apple is reducing the number of storage options, essentially giving customers a choice of 64GB or 256GB, whereas in the past Apple offered at least 3 different storage options.
At the moment the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus currently have a 1-2 week shipping estimate, but as is the case with Apple’s iPhones, we expect those times to slip the longer you wait. In the meantime customers interested in Apple’s iPhone X will have to wait until late October which is when pre-orders for the phone will begin.

Voice assistant software at this point in time have certainly come a long way from when they were first introduced, but at the same time we wouldn’t exactly call it perfect. For the most part it does what it is supposed to do, but what if voice assistants could become more than just mere software in the future?
That seems to be a future that Apple is looking to explore, thanks to a recent job listing in which Apple is seeking an engineer with a psychology background for Siri. The job listing, which was discovered by CNBC’s Christina Farr reads in part, “People have serious conversations with Siri. People talk to Siri about all kinds of things, including when they’re having a stressful day or have something serious on their mind. They turn to Siri in emergencies or when they want guidance on living a healthier life.”
Farr also provides a link to a study conducted by Stanford University back in 2016 in which it explored how voice assistants could be improved upon to respond to personal emergencies, such as how to advise a user who might have been raped. It will be interesting (and also a bit scary) to see if Apple has what it takes to make Siri be more “human” and understand our human needs.
It is clear that Apple sees AI as being the future, especially when you consider the fact that for the iPhone X, Apple included a dedicated neural engine in the A11 Bionic chipset.
