Apple announced the latest iPhone yesterday. It’s thinner, faster and has a better screen than the previous model. But of course it does. That’s how these things go. But the phone also lacks things I consider part of my daily life. I’m lost. This iPhone is not for me.
Without these two features, I’ll stick with the boring and passé iPhone 8. The iPhone X follows a… Read More
Who cares about an OLED and a notch when your phone can sip power from its surroundings, allowing you to make calls without ever having to charge your phone. This wild cellphone is part of a Google Faculty Research program and received three U.S. National Science Foundation grants for total investment of about $2 million. For that money, the creator, Vamsi Talla, built a single-board… Read More

The Jet Black finish for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus proved to be a hit so much so that the company had a hard time of meeting demand for this particular color option. Apple previously offered this color option with the 128GB and 256GB models of the handsets. Since they were the more expensive models, they were out of the reach of most customers. Apple is now offering the Jet Black color option with the 32GB model of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
This is one of the several changes that were discovered after the Apple Store went back up following the iPhone event yesterday. Apple unveiled the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus as well as the much rumored iPhone X yesterday.
As previously mentioned, the Jet Black color option was limited to the 128GB and 256GB storage models of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus but that’s no longer the case. You can purchase a 32GB model of either handset in Jet Black from now on.
This change brings the price down considerably for customers who want a Jet Black iPhone 7. The price for this color option now starts at $549. Customers who want the increase storage options can still purchase them in the Jet Black finish.

We first heard about Facebook’s Bonfire app earlier this year in July. It was revealed that the company had developed a standalone video chat app. The app has now entered testing. Facebook has quietly released it on the Danish iOS App Store. Those who have a compatible device in the region can now try Facebook’s Bonfire video chat app.
When we first heard about this app, it was reported that Bonfire was quite similar to the HouseParty live video chat app. The app enables users to hold video chats with multiple contacts simultaneously while also adding Snapchat-like effects. Users are also able to share pictures to social networks like Facebook and Instagram.
Friends that are added to a Bonfire chat will receive a notification about it in Messenger. Once they join the chat, the formats can be switched so that all participants get equal screen real estate or one where the person speaker get’s a bigger video tile.
The Next Web reports that the app is only available on the Danish App Store at this point in time where it has been downloaded more than 2,000 times with “good user retention.”
A spokesperson for Facebook confirmed to the scribe that “We’re running a very small test in Denmark of an app we call Bonfire. We have nothing further to share at this time.”
It’s not known at this point in time when Facebook is going to roll out Bonfire in more markets across the globe.
