I spent a whole lot of time and a whole lot of quarters in arcades when I was a kid. Now that I’m a grown-up and make a halfway decent living, I’ve got my own custom-built MAME cabinet in my mancave, so I can play all of my favorite games whenever the mood strikes me, and without spending any more quarters. That said, I wouldn’t mind having a few of these tiny arcade cabinets to decorate my office.
Each of these games features a miniature version of a classic arcade game, and is fully playable. While they’re by no means accurate to the original games in terms of graphics or cabinet proportions, they’re still a neat idea, and would be a great gift for any fan of classic arcade games.
The games feature 4-color displays and “original” arcade sounds. The graphics don’t look nearly as good as the ones on the hard to find Basic Fun Arcade Classic games I’ve seen, but the gameplay and cabinet art still captures the spirit of the original games, and the sounds are way more accurate on these.
They actually kind of remind me of those rudimentary LED handheld games from the 1980s, but with sharper displays and better sound.

Following the success of Destiny, it did not come as a surprise that Bungie would launch a sequel in the form of Destiny 2. So far reviews of the game have been mostly positive, which is why it doesn’t really surprise us to learn that there are many players who are playing the game at the moment.
In a tweet by Destiny 2’s developer, Bungie, they have revealed that the game has managed to hit 1.2 million concurrent players online (via IGN). This means that around the world, there are 1.2 million players who are playing the game at the same time. This is a rather impressive figure given that Destiny 2 was released just not too long ago, and we should also point out the fact that Destiny 2 is also going to be released for the PC on the 24th of October.
Thank you all so much for playing, Guardians! Right now Destiny 2 has over 1.2 Million concurrent players online. We’ll see you in the wild.

This means that combined with the number of players on console, we should see those numbers rise even further. However at the same time, excitement over a new game can somewhat artificially boost the player count, similar to what Pokemon GO was like during its initial launch. We would probably have to give it a few months or even a year before those numbers start to settle, but for now it looks like Destiny 2 is off to a pretty good start.

Given how hard it was to get the NES Classic Edition when it was launched last year, naturally this saw many opportunists take to auction websites like eBay where they offered to sell their units for marked up prices. As if that wasn’t bad enough, following the cancellation of the NES Classic, it saw prices skyrocket even further.
However Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime is warning customers against paying a premium price for the upcoming SNES Classic Edition which is set for a release on the 29th of September. Speaking to the Financial Times (via GameSpot), Fils-Aime was quoted as saying, “I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.”
We suppose that’s easy to say, but if last year’s supply was any indication, and the way pre-orders have been handled this time round, it seems that getting one’s hand on a unit via official means could prove to be rather difficult. However Fils-Aime claims that the company has “dramatically increased” the production of the SNES Classic Edition, meaning that it should be easier this time to get your hands on a unit.
That obviously remains to be seen, but hopefully Nintendo is able to avoid a repeat of last year’s situation. In the meantime we guess an alternative is that you could always choose to wait for the N64 Classic, which a recent trademark filing has indicated could be a possibility.

Customized consoles aren’t a new thing, and we have seen how companies have created themed consoles that are sold as bundles with certain games, however it seems that Microsoft will be taking customized consoles to the next level by creating custom consoles together with celebrities.
The company has recently taken the wraps off a customized Xbox One S which was created for the DJ duo The Chainsmokers (who are probably most well-known for their song “Closer”). This particular Xbox One S can light up, thanks to a microprocessor that is built into the console that can convert sound into a dynamic light show.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, the group was quoted as saying, “We were really pumped to work with Xbox on this project and help bring our music to life in a new way, by combining it with the best gaming console in the world. We knew the team would do something amazing, but when we saw the custom Xbox One S for the first time, we were both blown away by how cool the design is.”
We have to admit that it is a bit of a tease since regular gamers probably won’t be able to get their hands on these customized consoles, but The Chainsmokers will be holding a giveaway contest from now until the 17th of September where one very lucky fan/gamer can win this particular customized Xbox One S.

The Nintendo Switch has been doing pretty well for the company and represents a huge change from the situation that Nintendo was facing with the Wii U several years ago. Recently we learned that over in Japan, the Switch managed to sell 1.5 million units, which when taken into account the overall sales has amounted to 5 million units sold worldwide.
This is according to a report from VGChartz (via MP1ST) who claims that the Switch has managed to break past the 5 million mark worldwide, or to be more specific, the Switch has managed to sell 5,195,578 units. We can’t say for sure if these figures are accurate since they are not official, but VGChartz has in the past proven to be reliable so maybe they could be right. The report also goes on to add that 10,106,874 games has been sold for the Switch at retail.
In their report, they go on to breakdown where the Switch has performed the best in, which at the moment appears to be the US where the console has sold over 1.7 million units, following by Europe which is said to be close 1.4 million units. However it seems that their figures for Japan are a bit different from the previous report, in which VGChartz claims 1.2 million units.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also the console’s top selling game at retail with an estimated 3.37 million units, followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at 2.6 million units, and Splatoon 2 at 1.1 million units.

The range on electric cars is one of the main reasons why there are still quite a few car owners out there who aren’t quite ready to make the switch. This is because unlike gas-powered cars, the range of electric cars tends to be much shorter, although that is something that has improved greatly over the years.
In fact it seems that some of Tesla’s cars can hit a range that is greater than expected, and that is a feature that Tesla has remotely unlocked for its owners in Florida who are trying to escape Hurricane Irma. Thanks to a remote OTA software update, Tesla has unlocked the full potential of the 75 kWh battery packs that come in the Model S, Model X 60, and Model X 60D cars.
What this means is that owners of those vehicles will be able to travel further, thus allowing them to escape Hurricane Irma while stopping less to recharge. For those unfamiliar, Tesla used to offer customers the option to buy a vehicle with a 75 kWh battery pack that was software locked. This resulted in a car with a shorter range, but a cheaper price tag, where they were also given the option to unlock the full potential for additional costs.
However due to the emergency situation in Florida, Tesla has decided to unlock it for free, at least temporarily. This has since been confirmed by Electrek who reached out to Tesla.
